Hey, uh, I was looking at the Manufacturers Series manufacturer ranking - what the hell is going on with Renault Sport? Not only are they in dead-last, but they have less than half as many points as the next automaker. I’d chalk it up to a lack of skilled drivers signing up for Renault Sport, but I wouldn’t know for sure.
Laguna Seca next Saturday - the test lobby ... suggests that the race is looking to be another no-stop run on Hards.
Is it Gr.3 or 4? I'm in the Jag and I LOVE Laguna Seca, so I'll be there with a grin.'t is why I'm skipping with the Jaaag.

The Jags did good at Tokyo. Shouldn't be underestimated at Laguna Seca. I'll be in the Atenza and will probably get lapped.
Yeah, Spa is going to be tough with the long corners. T1 4WD acceleration and the Final chicane, will get negated by everyone else on good tyres. I think the Citroen was the car to have last time.In the Atenza too. But even around Spa, that is a worry.
I think this is it. Whilst the RS01 is a great car when you learn it, but it does put people off. It's results are down to a lower player base and thus less top end drivers in it.I'm a Renault Fanboy, so that's a disclaimer.
The top driver for Renault is a guy I never see in streamed races from the likes of VQS_James or Kie or whomever. And although he is ten times the driver I'll probably never be, at that level only the very very best have a chance of advancing a brand. As only the one (!) top dog counts (another opportunity PD doesn't use to involve its player base, but I digress) This season Renault just lacks that driver. In exhibition Josete stepped in and got himself a sixth place overall. As a consequence the brand flourished as well.
I think - from looking at the garage picture and the races he's doing and skipping! He is going for the Mégane Gr. 4. he skipped all RS01 races and the one he did netted zero points. If I had chosen for Renault I would probably have gone for the same races and strategy with the Mégane Gr. 4. since it has roughly the same potential as the Scirocco and with the hard tyre, no-stop races it should be just as good.
But the guy, as fast as he may be, is only 109th in the overall scheme of things. He just can't get in the high enough lobbies.
And yes, the RS01 is a pain… Beautiful but deadly.
I hope this isn't the case but we'll see I guess. Would be nice to have any sort of strategy variance after this weekends abysmal and frustrating round.A heads-up for those wanting to do Laguna Seca next Saturday - the test lobby I just completed suggests that the race is looking to be another no-stop run on Hards. Won't say too much about the WRX other than it feels like the right tool to improve my consistency and pace around this circuit...

Not doing Laguna Seca and I doubt I'm doing Spa either. I'm 3.2k DR away from A+ and there's no sense in just throwing it away there in a car that won't go round corners.
I think it got nerf 2 races in the FIAGTC along with the AstonI thought the GT-R worked well at Spa? Must’ve been a BoP adjustment or two ago.
I almost quit GT Sport this round -_-
First race got a good result Q 14th Finish 7th could have gotten fifth, we have forgot fuel our map setting was on 2 coming out to the back straight lose out 2 pos and earn 153pts. Good result for our split. I could have stop there but I felt i could have done better Oh boy i was wrong.
2nd Race Q 10th Got Torpedo turn 1 to last Finish 14th with 81 points.
3rd Race Q 12th after getting stuck behind Slow and tail happy GT-R for half a lap We couldn't even Overtake it in the back straight despite getting a better exit and the draft *Intensify the regret of having going with the Audi*. Race time 4 turns into the Nordschleife the R8 Tail went off and we end up into the barrier. with a 1.5 sec penalty, a damage engine we crawl from last place with 20 sec off P19 to finish p17 after gotten into a 3 way incident with a Porsche and Lexus in the last lap. 61 point
With a bit of frustration(to put it mildly) we jump back in the 4th Race and yeah this one was a doozy with combination of unavoidable accident and our own bottlejobs got another 17th finish with 55pts. at this point we were done with GT Sport -_-
After 15 min of contemplating about life meaning with 2 min to go we jump back in, with cooler head this time. And we drive our best Q lap this Round 8.19, .016 behind P2
And so Race 5 was a race of damage limitation as we rank #1 in the lobby, finishing below p5 mean another 1k DR and finish on the Podium would recover us 1k, Well...
Yeah i'm skipping the Toyota Cup at Nürburgring 24 i don't to see that track for a while -_-
Be ready for a sprint. Shotgun a Red Bull and be prepared for straight war.

Once you work out the right lines and get the rhythm it's an awesome place to race. Like the Nordschliefe! I watched a load of circuit guides to improve my times and it became even more enjoyable. I'm not rapid or anything, but I can at least now be fairly consistent and not bin it every other lap!I've noticed that I'm slowly becoming better and more comfortable at this circuit. Its a fun place.
Late to the party here admittedly - but you can change your tyres (unless you're the last person across the line and finish the qualy session). If you hit the option button before you cross the line you can exit after auto drive clocks your time, and change your tyres in the lobby screen. You might have to go to track and exit again (I had to) but it can be doneDoing a practice race. I finish my qualifying lap but the session's ended so now I can't change my tyres and the entire thing's a waste. All I can do is quit the game and not race or do a completely pointless stint on mediums. Why bother?
Los Sant... I mean,.. Laguna Seca, IS a nice circuit to race on. Like Brands Hatch and Interlagos, it's a bowl of a circuit.
't is why I'm skipping with the Jaaag.
Not necessarily true. At Nurburgring I was in the Jag and no-stopped, ended up 6th from 9th. The leader (and 2 others in front of me) pitted for mediums. Depends on your pace on each tyre as to what strategy works best for you. Some people can't make it work with the hardest tyres and fuel saving.Would have been a fun race if the hard tyre was not mandatory. Now everybody will start on hards as it is useless to have any other strategy. I for one would have loved to do a non stopper on mediums.
That is a bit of a problem with the new pit stop times being so long; it dimisses a lot of strategy options. Most races is hardest compound and tyre/fuel saving, avoiding the pit stop at all costs.
Hope PD will do a bit more mix strategies by using multiple mandatory tyre compounds in the next part of the season......
