Only had time to jump into 20:00 slot. Still building my FIA alt account so was with a bunch of low/mid B's. Qualify second with a meh lap but that's alright. Me and guy ahead are a good chunk quicker.
Start race going along well. Slowly chipping lead car back from a 1sec gap until about lap 5. Get a good run down the straight, and our of the first corner and pass cleanly after that. He files in behind on the double left then gives me the Craig Lowndes love taps all through the hairpin. I thought 'righto, settle down', don't squeeze him but wasn't willing to give him a tidy line into the long left. Instead he dumps me, drops me behind a distant 3rd. About 6sec behind leader now.
Catch up all that time on this bloke to pull up to his bumper entering the last sector. He's wide going through the last long right, obviously forgets I have a long memory and I kindly guide him into the sandtrap. So the balance of justice was restored.
Obviously he was fuming, I was more so perplexed he didn't think he had it coming. I don't like to dump people off, but there's been times where even I've accidentally punted someone and fully expected retaliation. That's why I usually pull over until the other guy recovers even if I end up last and way out of it. Just common courtesy I'd think.
I wasn't even annoyed at getting spun more than the guy just jogging on off like nothing happened.
