First off, I apologise to @PirovacBoy for not mentioning him by name in my last write-up. Thanks for the hard racing at Interlagos and the practice runs for this evening's trip around Sardegna B. Hope to see you on the track again the 18:20 turned out to be a less than easy affair.
18:20 Manufacturers
Plenty of variety once again, though I was only one of three 4WD cohorts along with the Lancer Evo from last time out and a Portuguese Mazda. Realised from practice runs that high 1:24s were achievable in qualifying with a gentle out lap, and this proved to be the case when I set a 1:24.962 to go 4th behind two Audis and a Scirocco. Gap between me and the polesitter was just over 9 hundredths - my fastest in testing was a 1:24.732, so not far off a second pole in that case.
Generally, I was happy with my race pace going into this, so had high hopes of getting a good finish and possibly taking advantage of the FWD runners eating their tyres up. Those hopes were quickly dashed when the TTs made an early break for it and the Halfords Scirocco (the same one who finished 2nd at Interlagos) makes a run on me through Turns 6, 7 and 8. Had a lucky break when the other Scirocco (driven by an Austrian player) slid and hit the inner barrier, but after that things went downhill. Couldn't get a consistent rhythm going as I was too focused on fighting the Halfords car then tried to defend from the more potent Red Bull BMW until he took 4th down the start-finish straight. For some reason, the WRX didn't feel as eager to turn in as in testing, though that could've been partially down to the minor errors I was making under braking during that phase.
More fighting ensued as the recovering Austrian bump drafted me and the BMW went wide near the turbines. Went three-wide a couple of times on Lap 5 as the Scirocco tried to force his way back past; at Turn 4, I was on the inside, the BMW got hung out to dry, but the Scirocco pulls clear and rockets into the distance on his way to retaking 3rd. This scrapping only allowed the tricolore Ferrari an opportunity to get a similar run to the Halfords car which I could do nothing against. The BMW also forced his way back past at Turn 8. End of the lap I put three wheels over the blue line at the final 'S' bend - something which I swore I would not do after practice - which is enough to pick up a penalty. As if the race wasn't already stressful enough! Followed the Cayman home in 8th as the rest of the group still fought for 4th, this time against the red and yellow TT who dropped off after taking the lead the few times.

Dejected to have lost out on Top 5 honours again, but still pleasantly surprised to salvage 201 points and another DR boost out of it. The speed differentials and constant scrapping in the first half made this a lot more frustrating and wearying than the test lobbies, and there were many times where I ended up driving a lot more forcefully than I would've liked despite the need to conserve the front tyres. Had I stuck it on pole, I'm sure I would've had the same issues against the TTs judging by how easily they rocketed away near the start. Not up for a rerun so this will have to do for tonight.
All Good my Friend, you really Made me sweat in that Race…the pressure you were putting on me over the Final few laps nearly crushed me. I enjoyed every second fighting it out in a fair manner with you. Respect for that, you drove like a Real Champ.First off, I apologise to @PirovacBoy for not mentioning him by name in my last write-up. Was pretty stoked for this after performing well in testing, but despite a great qualifying session the 18:20 turned out to be a less than easy affair.
