(except for seeing Seth Logan drive into the sunset šŸ˜)
I've been there.
You're Toyota is a midfielder but you are a good and smart driver so think you could do well here. Much depends on the rest of the cars in the lobby though; if there are 10 McLarens en 9 Chevy's then quickly hit the panic button!

Well...I'm happy to see the SLS near the top...

One thing has me concerned though - people are rubbing the walls again, in the practice times at least... I hope it's fixed in quali and during the race...though I very much doubt it will be.
They've had 4 years to fix it.

This is pretty much exactly right (my earlier post mixed up the Merc and the Honda)

The only difference I would have is to separate tier 4 and the place the 4C and RCZ in tier 5. They are rank.

The full list of my BoP'd lap times for BMB in Group 4 for those playing at home.

Special shout out to anyone who tries this in the 4C. Not only is it glacial, but it is also a first turn death trap after about 4 laps.
I can't speak to the rest of the cars but in my limited, on a controller, attempts, I got a 49.5 with the Nissan. It's awful on fuel so I'm not expecting much but it might not be that bad.

Good thing at least is that i can not remember an event we had so many discussions about before the race itself, and just because of that i will enter. Can not wait for all the race reports tomorrow!
I wonā€™t be entering. Did a final lobby practice and almost got lapped by 3 McLarens. Even the Slophy had dropped me by turn 1. Itā€™s no fun just circulating at the back on your own.

No Mclarens or Citroens in the race so shared top rated cars with a few other SLSā€™s, a viper, NSX and some Jags.

Almost got pole. Front 5 pulled away from the pack and was me, other SLS and Viper sharing the bumps. Pitted lap 8 and only Viper followed me in. Viper went for a full refuel so didnā€™t appear behind me. I was alone and could only make it to lap 15 with the fuel I had. Came out alone again and after pit stops, I was 5-6 seconds clear. Cars behind slowly caught up drafting with each other but my lead was big enough to stay comfortably ahead.

In with @housej who took a top 5. Shout out to the Alpha who entered

All those E drivers are A drivers doing a one off with the McLaren? You will probably only face those drivers either in the last slots of the day when they had time to improve their dr in previous races or if you happen to be in an SR A/B lobby. I think/hope
Not a single McLaren in the lobby. My alt account was one of the E drivers as it now only has 4 races on it.

Finished 4th after starting 8th. I guy quit after qualifying, race winner only stopped once. And one of the guys who finished ahead of me copped a 3 second penalty on the line. Will have to watch it back to see why.

I was technically in the strongest car as no Mclarens or Citroens in my lobby either. In qualifying, the NSX that took pole was in my draft as we both crossed the line so all thanks to me  Both of us in the 47:7s

Then again, that NSX was rapid! The 2 of us left the others behind and he sat behind me making me do all the work. We were together until lap 18 when he decided to take the lead and I stupidly brushed the wall coming out of T3 and lost the draft. Couldnā€™t catch back up and the NSX just pulled away each lap to finish 3 seconds ahead.

After doing a practice race, I'm reminded of the Top Gear episode where they did the 24 hour race at Silverstone.

The car's in the garage with the entire front end off and being worked on. James goes to tell the other two and says "whatever you do, don't look at the car" and as the shot cuts to Jeremy and Richard going into the garage Jeremy says "James will be exaggerating James isn't exaggerating" as he sees what's actually going on.

One for @Famine - I was following @GR33N who was driving a Mitsubishi. I was keeping up with him while in slipstream. That's how bad it is.

@xxPinkyKissxx I decided to drive the SLS for a challenge in a practice race earlier this week, and managed to finish 2nd against a Corvette. The lobby had a wide skill spread though, so the winning Corvette and I broke away from the rest of the pack pretty easily and I spent most of the race bump-drafting the Corvette. I made a move in the final corner on the last lap and easily cleared the Corvette, only for the Corvette to drive right by me without even bothering to tuck in behind me to try to get a slipstream. They won by a few thousandths.

The only reason I was even able to get past them in the first place was because they're usually a slower driver than me, and weren't taking the corners as well as I was, so in an actual race against more evenly-matched people, you'll probably have a hard time getting around one of the METAs, and definitely won't be able to stay ahead. I say all of that to say you can probably get a good result with the SLS, but it won't be a win, and your best bet to gain positions is to push someone else past the car you also want to pass. You also probably won't be able to save any fuel while trying to keep up with the faster cars.

After doing some more practices I'm reminded of this:

The metaphor continues into the episode because the race track will literally have to be washed out to sea for me to have any hope of getting near the finish line. Hope everyone insane enough to do this is ready for what's going to be the worst championship race in the game's history.

Ok so I had said my goal for this season was to win at BMB. That was before this weird BoP came to light. I havenā€™t finished outside of the top 5 in all the other FIAs theyā€™ve had at BMB. Joining lobby saw a Citroen, Viper and and Corvette knew the win chance had gone but could still get a good finish.

Qualified 3rd, initially following the Citroen which dropped me down the back straight. He set the pole with no draft.

Race start, Citroen and Viper drop me and the Corvette immediately after T1. I let the Corvette past to use his draft as he has the faster car. This enables me to fuel save enough to make it to lap 16 without refuelling. The strat brought me out way ahead of the Corvette and Citreon. Viper must have pitted a lap earlier as I didnā€™t see him until near the end where I was catching him fast. Wasnā€™t a win but happy with 2nd. My highest ever points too! :)

@GTWolverine i was faster out of T1 each time than the Corvette but i donā€™t think I would have been able to get past and stay past down the straight.

Nice job! Way to stick it to the METAs! Also that gap between 4th and 5th is just...

Well, I was able to do it properly and win the race. One challenger placed 2nd in B class for McLaren was in my lobby as well along with @MCL1974 so I was expecting a tight race, but the McLaren unfortunately dropped before start. Another McLaren (yes there were 3! And 1 corvette) got the 1 minute penalty so dropped significantly in the end. I came 2nd in Qualy and decided to save fuel (going to fuel map 6 on all straights) behind the Viper as long as we were outside the slip. He was fast so we could do that. He pitted on lap 6 and after my pitstop I never saw him again, because I had saved lots of fuel (about 54% left compared to 38% normal).

Today i did my first oval race and once done I decided to grow a mullet, move to Alabama and join the Nascar experience. Yep, I really liked riding the oval!!!!

all joking aside; I enjoy watching Nascar for several years now (go #21 and #11!!) and really looked forward to having a somewhat similar experience in this game. Even after the initial BoP dissapointment I knew I still wanted to try and race.

Started qualifying with a low though; no matter how francticly i mashed the buttons; I was not released till 17 others had gone out the pits and found myself driving in no mans land, with no slipstream to profit from. So my first laps were around place 12, till a German in an SLR overtook me and we worked together to give him third place and on my last lap i finally had a good lap and got 6th place due to his slipstream. Danke noch einmal!!!

Start went okay, i let a Jaguar that started behind me go past and wanted to slipstream him and save fuel while doing that. Only issue was an South African Sirocco that just wanted to bang and fight. So let him past too and slipstreamed the pair of them for about 8 laps, while changing my fuel map from 1 to 3 whenever possible (holy crap, I am actually fuel saving!!!!)

Fuel saving worked and came out just behind a Cayman after the first pitstop; I bumped him for a few laps but I noticed i could have a better pace on my own, so went past him and quickly got some distance between us.

A few lonely laps passed and pitted lap 16 and filled up for 9 laps, so no more fuel saving. I came out alone again and the Jaguar and the Sirocco i shared my first laps with were a few seconds ahead. A very quick Viper passed me, asked for bumps and then went into the distance.

By Lap 23 i got closer to the Sirocco and realised I actually had a chance to go past him. By Last lap i was at his tail and i remembered his earlier aggressive racing, so stayed close behind him, did not want to overtake till the final straight. Well, under my pressure he messed up the final corner and made it easy for me. He did try to pit manouvre me while i overtook him but i had anticipated that and countersteered so went to take the chequered flagg before him. Got 5th place as a few did not pit properly and got demoted. Best point score yet, very pleased and had an awesome time!!!

But big congrats to Seth Logan, who was in the same lobby as me. He went of into the distance and got an awesome win.

I told you earlier Seth; you had the good car, but it still needs a very good driver to get that result, and you got it! much derserved and I was keeping an eye on your position and cheering you on during my whole race!

Cool to see others here also getting good results!!!

Jaguar - 7th for 141 points.

Qualified 4th after working in tandem with a Corvette. Actually pipped them to 4th on the last quali lap.

Peloton of 5, including myself, break away early. I'm sticking to fuel map 3. Lap 8 I follow two into the pits and thankfully should have just enough fuel that I can leave the refill until the second stop. After emerging from the pits I lose the tow pretty quickly and I'm alone for several laps. Pit for the second time at the end of lap 15/16, not sure. Fuel is almost non existent so a long pit stop is necessary. Emerge from the pits and fall into the clutches of an SLS and Lancer, but it gives me company for the remainder of the race. In 8th at this point as we take turns providing the tow. With 2 laps remaining I flick the fuel map to 1 and go for it. Get past the Lancer but can't quite get in the tow of the SLS. Then, on the stretch to the line, all goes quiet apart from air rushing past. I've run out of fuel! However, the Brit in the Lancer behind me opts not to pass and pushes me several times across the line. They're my new hero. Afterwards I asked why not pass, they say they were happy with 8th. I'm immensely grateful.

Overall, I guess I'm happy enough. I think I was spoiled by the qualifying result and forgot about the thirstiness of the Jag, so I'll take my slightly undeserved points and run.

Not a bad race. No Mclarens, no Citroƫns, but 3 Vette's, an SLS, a Viper and an NSX.

Wasn't expecting much, target was to be the best of the rest.

Qualified in P8, which wasn't too bad, off the start, the guy in P7, messed up a gear change, meaning we had already lost the slipstream before T1.

Finally paired up with an Italian in an Aston. Worked together, pitted at the end of lap 8 and the end of lap 17.

Brought the Atenza home in P6. For 153 odd points. One and done for me, much better result than I was expecting.

Well Meta or not I'll happily take my 5th win, and in the Corvette. Very pleased. Was neck and neck with a German in a Mercedes right until the final pit stop with 7 laps to go where I came out 3 seconds head, I don't know what happened other than he must have overfueled it and no traffic made that a breeze to the finish. Don't get many gifts in the Chevy so I will take that all day, onto the group B where I'm bound to fail miserably so the universe will even things out

Funny thing is that I sitting at #4 right now for BMB qualifying, but can't enter the race with my Citroen.
I tried it this morning in the last Asian slot. I led until the 2nd pit stop, when I had to take on 9 laps of fuel.
I finished about 2.5 seconds behind a Honda, that spent about 5 fewer seconds in the pits than me.
I'll be entering the race with my Chevy account. šŸ‘

*Correction: #2. Haha. I know it won't make any difference. I'm just screwing around. :D

Not too much to say about this one.
Qualified 8th. Immediately got past a Cayman before turn 1. It's as if they were only at half throttle.
A few spins happened ahead but also got shuffled backwards as nobody wanted to work with anyone else. I pitted lap 9 and came back out. During the 2nd stint a stupid mustang almost pitted me out of turn 1. I controlled it but lost a load of positions but was otherwise pretty uneventful. I saw that a couple of the leaders pitted lap 12. I clocked this at the time as it looked like they might only go for a one stop. I pitted again lap 18. (See my pattern) I came out behind the Mustang that got past me towards the end of my last stint. However I was out of slip. Thankfully they fought a bit ahead and I closed as a couple of cars went for a spin. I decided to bump the stang as whilst I was quicker through T1 I didn't have the legs on the straights. In the final laps we caught a Lexus and made easy work of them. They tried to fight back through the final turn but I held it around the outside and crossed the line 10th. However those 2 I clocked did indeed only do a 1 stop and they slid down the order. I regained my starting position of 8th for a new 2nd highest points score.
20211117_175713.jpg

I wouldn't have made 8th without working with the Stang. If only more people worked together in this.
