@Geauxgreddy @crusselz & @Dave_H_87 if you want to join, still a few spots open. We are looking at 9-13 drivers so far. Not counting RA's who sneak in at the last moment. @Geauxgreddy if you could stream also, that would be awesome. Of course I'd share the link in discord
My brain exploded, what's that CST 3:30? And its daylight savings time so hour back 2:30? I race FIA at 4:00 so I don't think I could pull it off. Very tight window. Thanks for thinking of me though.

Bit off topic but we at Race Asylum are doing a re-run of last wednesday's FIA race at BMB. For those who care to join or have pledged to win one (@xxPinkyKissxx @GTWolverine) you're welcome to join. Please send a friend request to RA-A_Seth_Logan since I'm organising this from the Alt Acc. Start time is 21:30 today GMT.

The invite:

"I've had so much fun at the last FIA oval race, I'd like to repeat it this saturday 21:30 GMT with anyone who wants to join. This race in many ways is perfect cause even lower ranked drivers can win. Settings would be the same as FIA. We'll do three races, roughly 25 minutes each. You can choose from McLaren, NSX, Citroën, Corvette, Viper or Mercedes. Any of those cars will do, but you can't choose the same car twice."

Shout out to @OJBrit @Tigerhawk87 @MCL1974 maybe you care to join?
Thanks for the invite Seth. Would love to join but the PS is in my sons bedroom and that’s past his bedtime! 🙁 I’d be doomed if FIA slots were all after 8pm!

Had the same problem. Claimed a gaming room. Problem solved... but... still share PS so son now goes first UNTILL bedtime and that is... you guessed it 21:30 GMT 🤣

Today I had my 1st experience in a ""Top Split"" race. I put a lot of """" because it was not exactly what you expect when you see these words in EMEA haha (340 points only).

As you can see, Qualy went really well for me. I'm sure a lot of top players didn't practice AT ALL but still, I was kind of proud to be in front of some of those names.

Talking about names, apparently you don't deserve much respect when yours is not "known" in those spheres. Got pushed-passed many times, although my rythm was better than at least two of the guys finishing ahead. A lot of useless fighting, maybe ego issues for some people ?

Anyway, it was a fun race and I'm obviously happy with the result. Like @Zorz I do hope it counts but if not it's not the end of the world... ;)

Fisherman's Ranch was an awaited venue for me. I always loved this track and I had great practice times with various cars throughout the week. I was also really hyped about the concept of racing 20 cars at the same time on such a chaotic track.

Didn't know what car to go with at first... I knew it'd be either Hyundai or the Lancer, ended up being the Lancer. I entered the first slot, joining a group of "A" players that I see more and more. Shout out to them 🌞

Guess I wanted to perform too well, I was nervous as hell during qualifying. Tried my best to stay away from other cars, which I did, but many mistakes happened still. Qualified 5th. Could've been worse though.

As expected, there was some pushing around right from the start, but not many people to blame on this one..."Put racers on dirt, they'll be dirty" the fisherman told me  . I gained a position through the first lap madness and that was pretty much it. I crashed into the wall at some point, feared to have a penalty but didn't to my surprise. Not much time lost on that one, phew.

Ended the race in fourth place, waaayy behind the top trio, with a few seconds of advance on my closest follower. Gave it all, and I don't think I could've done better tonight. A little bummed since I really wanted a podium but eh, that's racing, and I gained 164 pts I worked hard for. Not bad. Thanks to everyone involved, see you at Maggiore and stay safe! - AstroVex

As expected I got bumped from the top 10 but I'm holding on as the fastest A time. Got my optimum in the 52's but I need to stop chasing it and work on race pace. Hopefully I'll get more practice races in than green hell and I'm still glad I skipped last Wednesday. I should be better prepared this round.

Gran Turismo - The Real Existential Crisis Simulator

Also damnit, goodbye personal best result. At least I caught it on video.
That's a shame for you but I'm sure you'll get another 200+ very soon !!

My score was also the best I ever got - SSRX lucky race excluded - but the intern at PD in charge of setting up FIA races probably did this in a hurry between GT7 related tasks :D

Just done a practice lobby for Bathurst. The Roadsters are great fun around there and I think the racing will be good. As always, need to be careful into the cutting and the dipper. Easy to turn the car around if you get it wrong.

Love this track and it seems my pace is pretty good. Looking forward to it.

Kaz Yamauchi: “We are deeply sorry for the confusion caused with the scoring system after round 5 of the FIA Nations Series. We will be giving everyone who participated double points for that round to make up for it.”

Sorry couldn’t resist! I Do feel sorry for those that got personal bests ! ☹️

2021 FIA Nations Round 5
Slot 1 Door 10
Top Split A+ to A

It never happened, but if it had, I lost one spot on lap 3 due to getting backwards on a jump I've never gotten out of shape on. Finished p11.

In other news, I got my internets upgraded and was able to stream the ghost race without it dropping to 0 kbps. Yay! Then OBS crashed just moments before I finished. Boooo. I swear. LOL.

I decided to skip the Fisherman's Ranch round, now seeing it didn't seem to count, I guess I didn't miss much. Sorry for those of you who had good results. :nervous:

Had a look at a stream and CSA Slot 1 top split was only worth 232 points, so I would have needed to actually beat Igor Fraga to the win to even improve my score, if the race would have counted. Obviously, not a chance.

The standings, however, updated from 2 best scores to 3 best scores, which made me jump from 27th to 11th in CSA! I know I will end up going down the order, specially as I'm still ahead of many aliens with less rounds raced, but right now I'm literally 1 point away from the top 10, I'll enjoy it while it lasts...

Weird, the NA leaderboard is still showing best 2 scores.
