At least Brown chasing down Anton made for an exciting last 10 odd laps. Really thought Will was going to get him too. One hell of a performance from both Erebus cars this weekend.
Really odd kind of weekend too. Erebus and DJR going great guns, T8 just ordinary (for their high standard), WAU off the boil, and Tickford going nowhere. Set-up window must be so small these days as there never seems to be many teams in 'the window' at the same time. Disappointing really.

Just a quick update about the new circuit. Owner of the company I work for, got a virtual tour. It's anti-clockwise and one of the corners is off-camber(he can't remember which one). Should be completed in nine months.
Is the goal to get the Supercars out there for a round? It sounds like a great circuit. Can't wait for the modders to make it for AC.

Yeah, Tickford really surprised me. Especially with how strong Waters was in Townsville. Think WAU's performance was solid. I mean, Fullwood hasn't done much since the first round. At least Chaz managed to finish all three races inside the top ten.

That chunk from ADP's tyre makes me think a kneejerk Supercars patch is about due. Four weeks of that, is not cool when it can ruin multiple drivers' race.

As Jamie said in the press conference wait until the super-soft tyre round that's when we'll see serious deg. We could possibly see Phillip Island 2017 again that weekend.

Top ten's are okay but the way I'm judging Chaz's performance is against the other Holden teams. He should (IMO) be next best after T8 and fighting for top 5's, but he was beaten by T8, Erebus, BJR and didn't look to be close to bothering the top 5. I doubt he'd be happy with that.

WAU and Tickford really need some consistency... could probably add DJR and every one else bar T8 to that really.

Yeah some of the races that SVG won this year have been helped by the others having faults or running into each other. If ADP was more consistent he would've probably been the biggest threat outside of T8. Will see what happens the next few weeks.

Any ideas who this is about? With so few people being exempt and only two reasons that I know of to be granted an exemption I doubt the driver in question will be permitted to race.

The only criteria are:

  • anaphylaxis following a previous dose of a COVID vaccine
  • or previous anaphylaxis to any component of a COVID vaccine.

Seriously.
Was just about to post that. Oh well I will anyway. Edit: I'll just remove the link to the article. :dopey:

It's not a great look that's for sure. We will probably find more later today.

Yeah, I can't argue with that. As much as WAU have vastly improved over the past season and a bit. They are still a long way from being a proper contender. Maybe Percat coming onboard and Mostert having a teammate on the same level as him, will change things a bit. Think that is one thing T8 and DJR do have over the rest of the grid. Two top tier (fairly) evenly matched drivers.
Reynolds would be an easy guess, Winterbottom as well.
Reynolds was my first guess as well.

Also interesting caveat for the driver in question. Season could be over for them, given the new rules announced by the NSW government today.

I think Percat will be great for Mostert and WAU. That's some proper talent right there!

______

How many drivers are NSW based? Team Sydney (Edit: ???? not sure if they are yet) and BJR are the only teams based there so I'd presume he's from one of those teams.

According to the article below that's where he's from.... although I'm generally not keen on using The Daily Telegraph as a source.

The NSW-based driver competed in the season-resuming Sydney Super Night despite not being double vaccinated after the sport granted him a concession on medical grounds.

Team Sydney are still based in QLD for the time being, as far as I'm aware. Think they are still in the middle of building their Sydney HQ.
Yeah, I thought they mentioned something last weekend about it but wasn't sure because I wasn't paying much attention to the chat parts most of the time. I was saving that for the racing bit.

It just sucks finally we're back racing and now this comes out. It just sucks.

UPDATE: Caruso is now unlikely to be replacing whoever it is. So not Frosty or Pye then i guess.

Wait am i missing something? Yesterday when we were guessing who it was. He's name was thrown around a lot. I think I'm reading into it too much. Maybe.
Just basing it off what I've seen on his twitter account. Don't think he's major anti vax. But he's posted and liked some questionable stuff over the past year or so.

That makes sense now.
Let's what happens now. I don't think he'll race this weekend at least. So maybe wherever Youlden is, I would say he'll replace Reynolds for the foreseeable future.

And by the statement the team isn't pleased with him either.

He should come with me tomorrow, to get my first shot.

In other news, I read a bit of the Supercars tender. When it comes to the control wheel, I know they want to save costs, but they should go with the NASCAR style or Super GT BBS.

GET MATTHEW PAYNE IN THE CAR
As much i think it would be a great opportunity for him. It's not going to happen unless he gets an exemption to have his superlicence without competing in Super2. It'll more be than likely be Luke Youlden that'll be Dave's replacement.
