Villa 0-2 Chelsea
Leeds 0-1 Arsenal
Man United 0-0 Newcastle
Southampton 1-1 West Ham
Liverpool 1-0 City

Mo Salah with the only goal in a fantastic game, Joao Cancelo's mistake left him one-on-one with Ederson and he didn't miss, City had a goal disallowed for a foul in the build up by Haaland on Fabinho (rightly so IMO) Haaland was kept largely quiet and Klopp was sent off late on.

Arsenal now four points clear at the top after Saka scored the only goal in a game which was suspended for 35 minutes due to a power cut, Mount scored twice for Chelsea with Kepa putting in a great performance in the Chelsea goal with some great saves, United had a number of chances and Ronaldo had two goals ruled out.

There are Premier League games on in midweek with all the games on Amazon Prime, Arsenal v City was supposed to be one of them but sadly that has been postponed so Arsenal can play PSV in the Europa League.

Wednesday.

Brighton 0-0 Forest
Palace 2-1 Wolves

Comeback win for Palace as Traore put Wolves ahead at half time, goals from Eze and Zaha got the Palace win as Wolves were carved open and they lost faith, Wolves now in a bit of trouble near the bottom as Palace rise into the top half, Brighton battered Forest but Henderson made a few great saves, no shots on target by Forest.

Liverpool's Diogo Jota and Chelsea's Ngolo Kante both out of the World Cup with knee and hamstring injuries, Jurgen Klopp charged with improper conduct after being sent off late on during Liverpool's win over City.

Mason Greenwood was yesterday denied bail and remanded in custody; his trial starts on November 21st.

Bournemouth 0-1 Southampton
Brentford 0-0 Chelsea
Newcastle 1-0 Everton
Liverpool 1-0 West Ham
Man United 2-0 Spurs
Fulham 3-0 Villa
Leicester 2-0 Leeds

The big breaking news from those games is that Aston Villa have sacked Steven Gerrard following the humbling defeat to Fulham, Villa are only out of the relegation zone on goals scored and tonight was another bad one with Douglas Luiz sent off and Mings scoring an own goal.

Very good convincing win for United over Spurs last night, United dominated much of the game and Spurs couldn't cope with the intense press, Fred and Fernandes with the goals but it should've been a lot more if not for Lloris making some big saves, the one piece of new slightly overshadowing the win was Ronaldo refusing to be subbed on and walking out of the stadium before full time, he has been dropped from the squad for the Chelsea game on Saturday as a punishment and it could be the last we see of him in a United shirt.

Everton v Crystal Palace
Man City v Brighton
Nottingham Forest v Liverpool (12.30 BT)

Sunday.
Aston Villa v Brentford
Leeds v Fulham
Southampton v Arsenal (2pm Sky)
Tottenham v Newcastle (4.30 Sky)
Wolves v Leicester

Monday.

the one piece of new slightly overshadowing the win was Ronaldo refusing to be subbed on and walking out of the stadium before full time
From what I've seen, there was no intent on subbing Ronaldo on though, he was just warming up. But that's just from what I could see.

Either way, the situation could've easily been avoidable by all parties.

I think he is done at United, whether he was going to be subbed on or not walking out whilst the game is still going on is disrespectful and there is now talk of United mutually agreeing to terminate his contract in January, we all know he wants to leave.

Erik Ten Hag confirmed that Ronaldo refused to come on as a sub during Spurs win before he walked off, he also confirmed that Ronaldo won't be part of the squad for the Chelsea game.

I think Ten Hag has handled this spot on and spoke well during his presser, left no doubt that he is in charge.

He's got another brace, 17 league goals for the season in 11 games...

Well, 10.5 games. What odds ANOTHER hat-trick today?

Why on Earth has this taken so long?
Cuts to the justice system. There aren't enough courts, judges and prosecutors.

As for him trending, yeah there are some absolute freaks out there. Obedient to a disgusting agree.

Villa dismiss Gerrard and immediately beat 10th-place Brentford 4-0.

Good job, Stevie G.

Forest 1-0 Liverpool
Everton 3-0 Palace
City 3-1 Brighton
Chelsea 1-1 United
Villa 4-0 Brentford
Leeds 2-3 Fulham
Southampton 1-1 Arsenal
Wolves 0-4 Leicester
Spurs 1-2 Newcastle

A little change in the title race as Arsenal dropped points today, City were back to winning ways yesterday with Haaland scoring another two so Arsenal's lead at the top is cut to two points, Brighton still winless under De Zerbi. Big result from yesterday with Forest surprisingly beating Liverpool, former Liverpool academy player Taiwo Awonyi with the only goal there and Liverpool had loads of chances but Man United loanee Dean Henderson made some big saves for Forest.

Newcastle deservedly won against an out-of-sorts Spurs, there was some controversy about the first goal in which there was a coming together with Lloris and Wilson as to whether or not it was a foul but it wasn't given and Almiron scored, Wilson then scored a penalty soon after before Kane got one back in the second half, Casemiro got a late equalizer for United in a tight game at Stamford Bridge. Big wins for Leicester and Everton, Villa battered Brentford in their first game post-Gerrard, Newcastle are up into the top four and Fulah are up to 7th with their win.

West Ham v Bournemouth to come tomorrow night, the European club action is back this week so no league game but domestically there is a full complement of National League games on Tuesday plus a handful of Football League games.

We all knew he wanted to leave. The moment United didn't get Top 4, it was a strong possibility, later confirmed in May or June. Fans and journalists alike doing the surprised Pikachu face for no reason after getting the news.

Everyone agrees that it is disrespectful, but it goes both ways. Things hit this point, in that 0-0 draw against Newcastle. Your team needs to score a goal, and you sub off your only striker, to get Rashford in, who's neither a striker, neither very good, yet you don't take off the underperforming midfielders like Fred and Bruno Fernandes? That's also disrespectful, and if it happened that United conceded a goal in that game, everyone would be on ETH throat asking "why did you take off your striker?".

It might be the case, but haven't seen any evidence of it. Either way, subbing on a striker in the last 4 or 5 minutes when you're winning just seems weird. Unless ETH was expecting Spurs to throw in a bunch of crosses in the area and he needed a bit extra height in the team.

But hey, I honestly only care now about everyone being fit for the WC. We (Portugal) already lost Diogo Jota, and still waiting to see if Danilo, Nuno Mendes and Pepe recover in time. If they don't, I wonder if Fernando Santos will get someone else, or still choose those later 3 players and wait for them to recover mid WC.

West Ham 2-0 Bournemouth.

Both goals were controversial with handballs and VAR, the first was scored by cat-hater Kurt Zouma with a handball in the build up by Thilo Kehrer which wasn't given after a check and the second goal was late on when Zemura handballed in the area for a penalty which Benramha then converted, Bournemouth boss was not happy and had with the ref David Coote at full time. West Ham up into the top half.

Aston Villa have appointed Unai Emery as their new head coach from November 1st, it's quite a coup from Villa to get someone like Emery and he will join after getting a work permit, Villa have paid over £5 million in compensation to Villareal for his services.

Games this weekend.

Saturday.
Bournemouth v Tottenham
Brentford v Wolves
Brighton v Chelsea
Crystal Palace v Southampton
Fulham v Everton (5.30 Sky)
Leicester v Man City (12.30 BT)
Liverpool v Leeds (7.45 Sky)

Sunday.
Arsenal v Nottingham Forest
Man United v West Ham (4.15 Sky)

Saturday night game for a change, means there is only on TV game on Sunday though.

Leicester 0-1 City
Bournemouth 2-3 Spurs
Newcastle 4-0 Villa
Brighton 4-1 Chelsea
Palace 1-0 Southampton
Brentford 1-1 Wolves
Fulham 0-0 Everton
Liverpool 1-2 Leeds

Couple of surprising results with Liverpool and Chelsea both losing, Brighton were magnificent against Chelsea on Potter's return with Loftus Cheek and Chalobah scoring own goals for Chelsea, Brighton's first win under De Zerbi was a big one. Liverpool had their chances but were poor in defense as Summerville scored an 89th minute winner for Leeds.

Comeback win for Spurs who were 2-0 down thanks to two goals from Moore of Bournemouth but Spurs fought back, Newcastle keep on winning and it was a very convincing win over Villa with Almiron continuing his recent great form with a great goal, No Haaland for City as he missed out because of illness but De Bruyne scored a superb free kick in a hard-fought win, nothing much else worth mentioning to be honest

Nice of us to give Brighton two freebies... 🙄. Congratulations to Brighton though who were much the better side.

Toney is suspended for next match due to yellow card. That's what I get for making him captain 😂. Which also means my fantasy team for next week is a bit threadbare up front unless Haaland is back!

Arsenal 5-0 Forest
Man United 1-0 West Ham

Marcus Rashford scored his 100th goal in a United shirt as they pick a hard-fought win over West Ham, Great cross from Eriksen into Rashford with a powerful header in the first half, West Ham had a number of chances in the second half but it was an excellent defensive performance and De Gea made some great saves.

Arsenal battered Forest, Two goals from Reiss Nelson plus one each from Martinelli, Partey and Odegaard, Jesus with two assists.

Not a lot happening on Saturday, Sunday seems to be where it's at.

This is the penultimate round of games before the World Cup.

Leeds forced to pay first £6m of £18.5m transfer fee they owe to Red Bull Liepzig for a player they didn't buy, but Basel bought from Nantes.

Yeah, you read it right.

Some big FA Cup upsets in R1.

Doncaster Rovers (L2) 0-1 King's Lynn Town (NLN)
Sutton United (L2) 0-2 Farnborough Town (NLS)
Chippenham (NLS) 1-0 Lincoln City (L1)

But the biggest of all was:

Cheltenham Town (L2) 1-2 Alvechurch (SPDC)

There's more places between these two teams than in the entire professional football pyramid: 96

For reference it goes:

FA Premier League
Football League Championship
Football League One (Lincoln)
Football League Two (Cheltenham, Doncaster, Sutton)
National League
National League North/South (Chippenham, Farnborough, King's Lynn)
Northern Premier/Southern Premier Central/Southern Premier South/Isthmian Premier (Alvechurch)

(there's three further FA tiers, one feeder tier, and technically ten more regional tiers thereafter)

Leeds 4-3 Bournemouth
Man City 2-1 Fulham
Forest 2-2 Brentford
Wolves 2-3 Brighton
Everton 0-2 Leicester
Villa 3-1 Man United
Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal
Southampton 1-4 Newcastle
West Ham 1-2 Palace
Spurs 1-2 Liverpool

Terrific game between Leeds and Bournemouth with Bournemouth 3-1 up at one point but Leeds had an excellent comeback.
Haaland last minute penalty for City after Cancelo was sent off.
Forest got a late equalizer v Brentford
Maddison was superb v Everton and got two assists.
Emery first Villa game was a win over United and United were awful.
Gabriel goal v Chelsea for Arsenal who continue to impress.
Newcastle great run continues too with a nice win over Southampton and Almiron scored again, rumours that Hassenhuttl will be sacked.
Late winner for Palace from Olise.
Spurs-Liverpool just finished, Salah with two and one was after a calamity at the back from Dier, Kane with Spurs goal.
Julien Lopetgui to take over at Wolves after the World Cup.

So many goals this weekend!

Ralph Hasenhuttl was sacked by Southampton this morning, it comes as no surprise as they are in the relegation zone with one win from nine and have been on the decline since March, Luton Town's Nathan Jones has been given permission to speak to them. Hasenhuttl is the sixth managerial departure in the Premier League so far this season with five sackings and Potter joining Chelsea from Brighton.

Liverpool owners FSG are looking for investment from potential shareholders with reports that they have put the club up for sale.

This is the last week of domestic top-flight football before the World Cup, both the Premier League and Championship will be stopping after the weekend. League's One and Two, Vanarama National and below will be continuing. Carabao Cup third round is this week with Chelsea v Man City and Aston Villa v Man United the two TV games on Sky.
