I’m not sure when they started doing it, but I’m happy to see NASCAR has taken up the idea of moving the timing line for qualifying to shortly before pit entry.

Indycar: There's a chance of rain. Let's move up the race start by 30 minutes to be safe. Rain does eventually hit late, but the track is dried fairly quickly and the race finishes at a decent time.

NASCAR: Let's schedule a race after 3:00 at a track with no lights. But hey, we have rain tires in the case of inclement weather since this is a road course. Start time comes and goes, nothing is happening...

2000's: Rain incomming, delay delay delay!
2020's: Lightning one state over, delay delay delay!

First wet weather race for the Next Gen car. Either gonna be really fun or complete chaos. No in between.

My bet's on a JGR or affiliated driver completely missing the inner loop opening lap

F1 fans have infiltrated the NASCAR reddit today. The whole sub is being inundated with questions like:

- If Kimi wins today, is he in the playoffs?

- Why does NASCAR not enforce track limits?

- Why does NASCAR not penalize cars that make contact with each other?

It’s quite a hoot 😂

I don't see Kimi winning today, but I believe you have to be a full-time Cup driver to qualify for the playoffs.

lmao what happens if Kimi wins this and qualifies for the playoffs after entering only one race
Need to attempt every race of regular season (unless given a waiver by NASCAR) and be at least top 30 in points to eligible for a playoff spot.

Larson win clinches a spot for Busch provided he can start Darlington. If he can't, then Blaney is in a good spot.

Good race, I'm sure Chase is saving bumps specifically for Larson in the post season.
