They just need to outperform HMS, Penske, Trackhouse, JGR, RCR, and SHR for 10 races.

Like I said, ambitious.
But not totally ridiculous. They'll get more resources out of JGR than Truex in the 19, at least as long as they're not eliminated and they're the only Toyota standing at Phoenix, and Wallace did get a win last year...at the fall Talladega race.

I didn't say impossible, I said ambitious.

Yes, if Bubba can somehow outlast Hamlin, Bell, & Busch and be the lone Toyota in the final 4 he has a shot. I don't see that happening though. 23XI will need a lot to go their way.

Kaulig will be making a Cup driver announcement on October 5th, I think you can already guess who people are speculating is filling the seat.

As I haven't been following too closely outside the unfortunate situation with Kurt Busch, I geniunely have no idea.

Kyle Busch is seemingly not returning to Gibbs next year as his contract is up and a replacement sponsor hasn’t been found yet.

Checking in from Turn 1 at Darlington!

I don't think I've ever seen a leader blow up during a caution before.
Nor have I, and totally out of nowhere, too! I'm gutted for Kyle, but "amazing" is the only word that describes that.

Erik Jones is now in a prime position to grab Petty's first win in forever. Pulling for him and/or Bubba to cause a potential upset.

Edit: Jones has a solid half-second up on Hamlin. Ooooh this is exciting.

Edit 2: YEAHHHH! Get in there, Erik! Win 200 for Petty!

I believe the 43 and 11 are 1 and 2 when it comes to victories by car number.

I know Erik just said that he's always been looking forward after being dropped by Gibbs, but that victory had to be at least a little vindicating for him. He's had solid results all year, and to grab a victory for the King has to just be the icing on the cake. Mega happy for him. Also another solid result for 23XI, with Bubba bringing it home in 9th and Ty Gibbs in 15th. They were constantly in the mix all night, so a great result for them.

Biggest losers tonight were all the drivers who were victims of attrition, in particular Kyle Busch and pretty much the entire Hendrick Squadron. Having the engine blow out of nowhere, under yellow, while ~20 laps away from an almost certain victory? That has to sting pretty hard, especially with the year Kyle has been having. I missed the first half or so of the race, but what I was able to gather was that almost all of the Hendrick cars were having issues, with Larson being in near-constant risk of blowing his engine, and Chase getting knocked out early in the race. Didn't quite catch what (if anything) happened with Byron and Bowman, but it seems like this was a night to forget for the entire Hendrick team.

That engine sounded like a Volkswagen!

It would appear Dale Jr. knows where Kyle Busch is heading.

Or maybe we’re being trolled??

It’d be funny if Busch announces he’ll be back at JGR next season in like a week or two.
