I really hope this is a sign that NASCAR has had enough of drivers acting like idiots, Bubba should be suspended however it's ridiculous that it's not more common considering what he did isn't far off what others did with only losing points and being "fined".

And think about this: we already have two drivers out with concussions or concussion-like symptoms due to crashes thanks to how the car is and those weren't in aggressive scuffles. Just imagine how worse that gets if NASCAR doesn't consistantly come down on them for that unnecessary amount of aggressive driving.

A decade ago we didn't see NASCAR take these intentional wrecks seriously so I am sort of glad they are now punishing drivers who have very poor lapses of judgement.

Remember when Carl Edwards came out of the pits 200 laps down and almost put Brad keselowski in the stands and NASCAR did nothing?

It seems like a light penalty considering how reckless that was, but at least they did something I guess. I wasn’t expecting much from them anyway.

So, I just saw a comparison of Bubba Wallace to Ryan Leaf.

Ryan Leaf for those who don't know in the NFL world, was a top prospect for the San Diego chargers in 1998, and repeatedly got into it with his teammates, staff, and was constantly berated for that same attitude.

The more I look into it, especially the pit crew audio, the more the comparison is getting eerily identical.

I have a very hard time making that comparison stick. For one, Ryan Leaf was just not that good and never really had anything better than a mediocre season in his 3 seasons in the NFL. If you REALLY want to make a comparison about Ryan Leaf, a more appropriate driver would be Casey Atwood (and even there, Atwood showed signs of something). Leaf's teams in the NFL went a disappointing 11-37.

Wouldn't take that comparison seriously considering who made it. Hell, nothing should be taken seriously from a dude who's frequently made inflammatory comments on Twitter (Finally got banned btw) and is the same guy who accepted a bribe from SMS (Yes, THOSE people) and justified it terribly. Trashy people are unsurprisingly adept talking alot of it, mostly because they are full of it (Reminds me of multiple certain people...)

It's not so much the performance I was looking into, but the attitude.

I get what you mean with the NFL, though, that's like saying Apples are Tomatoes.

I can see why that comparison should be taken with a grain of salt from a man whom was in SMS's pockets. But even a pariah sometimes can activate the almonds.

Kyle throwing heaters at the officials is honestly needed by a lot more drivers and former drivers. He's dead on with his NHL and NFL comparison.
Also him bringing up how crew chiefs and pit crew members get hit with a 4 race suspension for an accidental loose lug nut, but a driver spinning someone into a wall on purpose @170mph gets only 1 race.

EDIT: Also, Kevin Harvick is sounding off on his Twitter account about this as well.

Rhodes got in via pretty obvious team orders so it will be interesting to see how NASCAR responds. Considering it's the Truck series though I doubt they'll even acknowledge it (which is honestly the proper response in my opinion).

Wait, when did Ty Majeski end up in a Toyota? Thought he was with Roush, at least the last time I heard of him he was in a Roush car.

Majeski became a free agent when Roush shut down its Xfinity program at the end of 2018. He spent most of 2019 out of the NASCAR scene, signed with Niece to drive a truck at the end of that season, lost the ride in September 2020, became an engineer for ThorSport in 2021 and drove a couple truck races that season, and became a full-time driver for them this season.

Larson wins at Homestead. If he hadn’t wrecked at the Roval, Larson would be in the final 4. Still 3 spots available for the championship.

Larson can't win the drivers' championship, but thanks to the 45 keeping the 12 (Blaney) out of the owners' playoffs, the 5 team can still win the owners' championship because they left Charlotte 7th in points (and only the 20 below them in the top 12 with a win) before the reset/eliminations, and rose to 4th after the reset.

I bet Rick Hendrick is really happy about writing that check that put his worst driver (Byron) into the next round. And his best driver (Larson) on the outs. So right now if he had not bought Byron a ticket, Larson would be the favorite to repeat as champion.

Imagine this scenario - Ryan Blaney wins the driver's championship while the 5 team wins the owner's championship and the 12 team (for which Blaney drove all 36 points races) finishes...wait for it...wait for it...17th.
