5 minutes to go!

Looks like Toyota will not have enough time to pass that Ferrari. Only a miracle can continue Toyota's winning streak at Le Mans.

Congratulations Ferrari

A superb achievement for the Ferrari 499P - a win on its Le Mans debut!!

Well done to the winners in the LMP2 and GTE AM class too (assuming the results stand!....)

Well done too to all podium finishers, and particularly Cadillac who get 3rd and 4th overall on their first attempt in the Hypercar era.

Sparing a thought for the Toyota team, and for Hirakawa who must be feeling pretty awful right now. Commiserations to Peugeot as well, as they were looking strong until midway.

The future of LM looks very bright right now

Good race. Was a great race until safety car happened. Toyota would have won this had they not binned it, but should, would being what they are

Great race, hopefully they work on the safety car procedure though as it really took some of the excitement out. It really reminded me of that trope where the husband does what the wife asks but does it so terribly he never gets asked to do it again.

Beat everyone else in the first races of the season, and beat Porsche, Peugeot, Cadillac etc in this race. But if you don't know anything about motorsport you would say something like that surround by other drunks that agreed with you.
Don't waste your time engaging him, he just pops in, drops a hot take than runs off.

I think it would be best if they just did slow zones and full course yellows. Everyone keeps position relatively, no silly pass through nonsense.

Let IMSA see the effects of the safety car merge this year and give up on their crusade to bring Le Mans more like the US series. Sorted.

I'm saddened by Toyota's loss, but I will say congrats to Ferrari. They raced as LeMans in the top class for the first time in actual decades and took the win on the first try! Amazing!

The discovery plus app ruined it for me. Every part would struggle when it was the last hour. Had to switch to the on board feed just to see the Ferrari cross the line.

BoP is the dumbest regulation ever (on IRL races, it's fine in simulator)... The teams have a set target of aero, hp, weight, everything basically to set, if they can't get it right, it's their fault.
Still, even with the massive weight addition to Toyota, they likely would've won this if not for driver mistakes... Letting a youngster take all the pressure to push on the final stage of the race was clearly not the right call. Buemi had to be the one to get inside that car, regardless if Hirakawa had less driving time than the other 2 drivers.
And how ironic that, yet again, again... and again, a Ferrari GT car wrecks another manufacturer's prototype. How many has it been???

Still, congrats to Ferrari, and overall an amazing race with many different Hypercar teams leading at one point and battling on the track. But it still feels fabricated with all the BoP nonsense. It ruins the hard work of the engineers, mechanics, etc of the best teams.

This era has potential, insane potential, but BoP has to go... We now have top-tier names participating and even more will join in the future. No need to try to fabricate a show with this BoP nonsense. WEC or any form of motorsport is a sport before it is a show.

Well, it's also a good thing that now I have an extra car to add to my 1/18 collection of Le Mans winners, and that Ferrari is not only a beauty but won after 50 years and on its Hypercar debut.
I really wanted the Peugeot to at least get a podium, their car is really a looker as well, but I'm afraid they have to get a wing on it to be competitive, and that is probably going to change the whole philosophy of the car.

Cadillac genuinely surprised me, and Porsche for once don't have an ounce of good luck like they've had in previous years (1998, 2016, 2017).
