The discovery plus app ruined it for me. Every part would struggle when it was the last hour. Had to switch to the on board feed just to see the Ferrari cross the line.
it worked great for me, only had a couple of hiccups in the middle of the night, which were all corrected by reloading the stream immediately. It was on for hours non-stop.

Congratulations to Ferrari, Inter Europol, Corvette and Hendricks, another race in the bag.

And cheers to all the ladies and gentlemen of GTPlanet who joined this thread. :gtpflag:

I'm off to shower now, then some grub and a bit of game time before retiring for the night.

Dunno about you guys but next race for me will be 2024 Daytona 24h. Untill then, bye.

Iron Dames going from p10 to p4 (in gte am), great job there. (I hope the will win one day the wec championship AND the 24 hours of le mans ._.)
Inter Europol Competion p1 in lmp2. Not really my favorite team but I like their colors/liveries :D

There was a lot of "great" drama in the first eight hours and surprisingly many retired cars...

This has been an exciting race to watch. I didn’t mind the new safety car rules, but it does need tweaking to make things go quicker but remain safe for everyone.

Congratulations to Ferrari, Inter Europol, and Corvette for winning. As well as Garage 56 for finishing the race.

I can’t help it, but when I see the one driver not sure what his name is, from Inter Europol. His hairstyle, beard and facial structure, reminds me of Fernando Alonso.

I’ve been using the Motortrend+ app, and it has been flawless for me during the whole race. Only hiccup I had was when a thunderstorm knocked my internet out for 10 minutes.

Even without the incident for the #8, it would have been tough task to beat the #51 with the pace they had. But that's all if, buts and maybes now. I have no interest ior admiration for Ferrari as a brand, but fair play to AF Corse for winning the 100th running of Le man's. For me its more of an AF Corse win than anything, as they've been a loyal servant for Ferrari throughout the years.

And a very solid podium for Cadillac after what's been a disappointment of a race for them. Porsche even more so, perhaps the biggest surprise that they failed so poorly. Peugeot was another case of what might have been after the #94's accident. I hope they continue to develop their concept at least.

Ultimately Toyota can take pride in the #8 getting 2nd, I'm glad Toyota at least got one car on the podium. These recent years more than make up for the many years of heartbreak as a Toyota fan (2016, '12, '14 , '99 and '94 to name a few...). They certainly took the fight to all the increased competition in Hypercar. Still, there's a WEC season to finish yet before next years LM24.

Overall, a very attritional race, which did detract what probably would have been an exciting finish. But nonetheless a positive start to this new era of Prototypes.

Beautiful win for Ferrari.
I was lucky enough to attend the race (was my first time) and what an experience ! Can't wait to go back.
The Garage 56 car was the loudest by far. Very impressed with the Cadillac as well, these are beasts.

Side note : I didn't know the first turn before the Dunlop bridge was so hilly. Absolutely no such elevation in GT7.

It just dawned on me that if Ferrari wins this year’s Spa 24 Hrs outright then they’ll have completed the hat-trick of endurance racing* in a single year, something that only Audi has achieved before in modern times (2012, 2014), perhaps even in all times.

Goes to show how much on a roll Ferrari are lately (and how bad the F1 team is doing in comparison :P).

* Mind you, I’m talking about the big 3 European endurances.

Toyota still hasn't beaten a real manufacturer
Thats being unfair on Toyota.

They had their fair of share of bad luck in Lemans also in this race they came close to winning.

You are treating as if Toyota crumbled under competition they seem to hold on pretty well.

Since Lemans in 2026 is going to allow Hydrogen no doubt that Toyota could actually bag some even in the future as they seem well prepared for Hydrogen technology.

We also seem to forget that Audi got half of its victories without any competition.

Lets not forget how the Bentley that won in 2003 even came from Audi.

Also new players are stepping in which is Lamborghini, Alpine, Bmw and possibly Honda/Acura.

Ferrari vs Toyota was great. Roman Legionarie vs the Japanese Samurai. None of them back down.

The LMH cars had a significant straight line advantage over the LMDH cars. This was probably down to more advanced aero and using bespoke hybrid units. I'd say the true gap between factory LMH and factory LMDH was about half a second. Not alot over a 3.30 lap, but it adds up over 24 hours. All Toyota or Ferrari had to do was run a clean race and it was theirs to win.

Still, I found the BOP for this race acceptable, if not good. If Toyota and Ferrari had 15kgs more each we probably would have had an even race with them and Cadillac/Porsche. But it was pretty close. They just have to address the straightline difference between the cars.

Also, what a disaster for Porsche. A big fat F. No reliability, and crash prone drivers. The one shining beacon is their cars were fast. Definitely the fastest LMDH cars. Good to have a fast and unreliable car then a reliable and slow car. One is alot easier to fix then the other. But what an awful showing. Penske must be so embarrassed.

The fact that this race came down (mostly) to who made the least errors and that multiple teams could have won had circumstances been a bit different surely deserves to be celebrated.

Yes, the last few years have been a cakewalk for Toyota - but they have never given an inch when it comes to effort and dedication, and perhaps this wonderful renaissance of the top class would not exist had Toyota's commitment not been so solid over the last few, lean years.

I'm happy that they didn't win today, but not because I think they are not good enough, but because after years of deserved but perhaps quite predictable victories, they are now in the mix of a proper multi-team fight, and can still seriously challenge for the win even when BoP is weighted against them.

Today's race was a triumph for endurance racing, and Toyota deserve a lot of credit for making it so.

There's a survey about the WEC championship. I highly recommend people participating in it as there's some pretty interesting questions in the survey that can impact the series

You can read more about it here

Toyota came in doing too well, so they got stuck with a BOP that slowed them too much.

If they hadn't been winning by so much in all of the previous races, they may have had a lesser BOP penalty.

They did well for what they had.

Sucks that they got pounded because someone else (basically) stopped on track.... :(

Were you saying the same thing about Audi when all they had to do to win was turn up?

Without the crash Toyota would have won. The. End.
 like the year Peugeot was 3s a lap quicker than Audi?

Or the first year they came with a diesel hybrid that no manufacturer had ever won with?

Or the year that they only won by 13s?

Watch Truth in 24 and tell me that all they did was “show up”.

I wholeheartedly agree. Race fans like me, probably been turned away from the way the top category seemed lacklustre. This year’s race revived its history for a new era. Fantastic race in Le Mans history, at the perfect time.
