SHR doesn't build motors - all the full-time Ford motors come from Roush-Yates. Further, the technical alliance ended at the end of last season - Rick Ware Racing now has one with Roush Fenway Keselowski.

It certainly looks like Cody Ware isn't coming back to the family business.

Could Haley be positioning himself to move to RFK in a few years whenever Keselowski retires maybe?

Denny Hamlin wins at Pocono. Questionable ending as the race finishes under caution.

I like that they didn’t throw the yellow for a single car spin behind the pack. Shame Preece couldn’t get it refired before they came back around.

Denny Hamlin wins his 50th cup series race.

Denny's take on his move was...interesting to say the least. Larson showed some restraint in his interview. He's got every right to be mad.

Running the Xfinity race and missing practice and qualifying for the Cup race, while being 17th in points and first car out of the playoffs, doesn’t seem like a wise decision.

This is kinda out of left field…

It shows that, while traditional cable is dying, the streaming/cord-cutting that is killing it isn't quite ready for prime time.

It is The CW's third foray into broadcasting sports, as it is the home of LIV golf, and earlier this month, took over the near-dead Bally Sports/Diamond Sports ACC contract for a bunch of college football and basketball games. It also picked off the rights to "Inside the NFL" after CBS booted it from Paramount+.

Live sports is the only profitable thing left on TV anymore, so it's not surprising that CW's scrambling to pick up any sports-related contracts that they can reasonably afford to hold. $115 million a year is couch cushion money for the rights to a national series.

Unless you're a cable sports network. Bally/Diamond is in bankruptcy, and Warner Discovery is jettisoning Root Sports by the end of the year. Even Disney is looking for the exits regarding ESPN.

I haven't been able to find what Fox/Comcast is paying for the Xfinity Series portion of their combined $820 million/year contracts, especially since it's less than clear whether that includes the Fox-only truck series. That said, $115 million for the Xfinity series seems like a bargain, and the fact that the streamers would not match CW's offer doesn't seem to bode well for NASCAR's hope of getting to $1 billion/year.

True, locking stuff away on specialty channels and expecting people to pay a premium for them doesn't work now because there's just too many ways around it, and people are far more reluctant to buy a full cable package exclusively for the sports channels anymore. As far as general network programming goes though they're still making bank on live sports, and even if CW is the perennial backmarker in the network race behind the Big 4, this'll still be a boon for them in the long run.

Wild crash for Chandler Smith as his brakes fail going into turn 1 at Road America. He turned hard left into the outside wall in an effort to slow the car down and it completely peeled off the driver side of the car. Glad he was OK.

Gragson is out of the #42 indefinitely.

Seems he liked a rather racist tweet. Probably not the best idea when you are already rumored to be on the hotseat.

Also out of NASCAR indefinitely even if another team wanted to pick him up.

#42 again? :dopey:

Does Hendrick happen to be in need of a (bad) driver for 2024?
The first Hendrick contract up is William Byron in 2025.

Noah Gragson has made a statement.

Edit: This is the Instagram post he liked. And yeah, it’s not just offensive, it’s just plain dumb:

Truex is staying in the 19 through at least the end of next year.

Wouldn't surprise me if we get a Nemechek-to-the-42-full-time-in-'24 announcement this week now that that seat's open and LMC will be itching to knock today's news off the front page.
