It's always a shame when someone gets dropped but he wasn't getting results and Cameron impressed when he was in the car last year. That team just looks like a bit of mess from the outside. A shame really.

It’s crazy how well the track works with these cars. Fast flowing but with enough consecutive low speed corners for them to fight in. Those mid pack battles felt like the glory days for a moment

Another cracking race last night. Hats off to Craig Baird and company for letting a bit more biff go, and even some NASCAR (lack of) track limits where it's not important.

Also, GT and Neylon's race calling was pretty good, but the bar has been set pretty low. I wouldn't mind seeing how GT and Crompton went together... or maybe even GT and Leigh Diffey.

Richie Stanaway needs to bugger off because he's a ****ing menace with his dirty driving. He totally screwed Mostert over for absolutely no reason and showed a total lack of respect for his fellow competitors. He backed up Mostert, ran him off the road, moved over too late when defending into turn 11, blocked him out of turn 5 and drilled Wood coming out of turn 4. I don't even know why he was even allowed back into the championship. Sure, he ended up going off the track at turn 12 but the damage was already done. I hope Mostert gives him one back today because that was ********.

Shame the battle up front wasn't as wild as it was with the rest of the field. Still easily the best Supercars race in some time. Hopefully the rest of the weekend continues like that.

Great job from the MSR pair to finish 1 & 2. Cameron Hill has been driving out of his skin so far this weekend... and I do like an underdog win.

And a pretty stupid statement from Barry Ryan, albeit in the heat of the moment.

“Supercars can pay for this one, this is going to Bairdo (driving standards advisor Craig Baird),” Le Brocq’s engineer Barry Ryan said to his driver on team radio moments after the incident.

This track has always had serious consequences due to the high speeds and close proximity of some of the walls. Sometimes you're the bug and sometimes you're the windscreen, that's all there is to it.

As far as I saw, Ryan Wood had the slightest of slip-ups with the car jumping sideways a bit that forced him into Le Broq but it's not like there was anything intentional about it. Just a young bloke going his hardest and making a small error... which he paid for.

Nothing (for me) will ever match Darrell Eastlake and Barry Sheene.

Right from their early days on SBS commentating of the 500cc World Championship they had an excitement for motorsport that's never been matched. Darrell Eastlake could make chess sound exciting.

This incident had nothing to do with the slight shift in rules though, and therefore was not on Bairdo in the slightest. Going by that methodology, maybe Barry should pay up when one of his drivers makes a slight mistake and bins someone else. I bet he won't though.

When you’re racing in a pack like we saw in race 1, it’s going to be hard to avoid hitting someone else and I think under those conditions, the drivers have been hard but fair.
