Interesting theory... and I wonder what T8 think about it, and how hard they'll fight against any improvements, especially now that JW has come out and said there are deficits in the Ford engine that they would address when they become the homologation team.

Was at the track this morning and it was bloody wet, didn't expect any running till the F1 tbh, would've been carnage but not in a fun way.
Especially with only a two day turnaround. And while it was disappointing, it wouldn't have been fair on the Queensland teams if anything happened to their cars in the race... which as you pointed out, would've been carnage.

Edit: Good to see they were still collecting data for the cars on the weekend too. I noticed T8 and DJR were both running a Pitot tube on one one of their cars.

Honestly other than the fact that the cars race so well on the circuit, having the round the week before the F1 completely destroys the purpose of them being on the bill. They're there for promotion, it's the most commercial eyes they get on the series bar Bathurst, and is huge for corporate exposure.

Beyond it being extremely unlikely to get approval to have the circuit preparation time extended and then left untouched for a week, Supercars simply wouldn't get the same amount of benefit I don't think from it.

Yeah, but at the same we do need a good season opener. Since Newcastle isn't an option anymore NSW hasn't worked out with it having the rights for the first round of the championship. Highly unlikely that we can get Albert Park to ourselves a week beforehand and get a crowd unless the AGPC promotes it. Having some of the other categories like Porsches, Super2 to boost its recognition. And then for the GP weekend you can have more time for F2 and F3 with squeezing out Supercars out of time. And Melbourne as local market for V8's would be huge sponsorship opportunities. So it can work but will it become a reality, short answer no.

As much as I’ve enjoyed the four races during F1 week when I’ve gone to the races, Supercars would have to pull the series from the event. It doesn’t mater whether there are two long races or four short races, the series can’t and will never win as an intermission support category.

It may seem cool to have an event the week before, but for what? I can’t see the ticket numbers suddenly exploding to offset the ticket sales with Supercars on the F1 bill. I guess if the races were on Tuesday and Wednesday, it would help the teams, but it’s all about the fans. How many people are going to show up? Maybe those that didn’t get F1 tickets in time?
Do F1 teams want all that Dunlop rubber on the circuit two days before they(all formula categories) get on the circuit? I don’t know.
