Think I'm going to miss the end of this, didn't get much sleep last night so I'm not setting my alarm for tomorrow, hopefully I get up in time lol. Still another 3 or 4 hours till I'm going to sleep though.

If the both of you go to bed the post count will drop by 50% :)

Oh don't worry I won't be, the only way i'll be asleep during this race is if I uncontrolably fall asleep face-first onto my laptop.;)

Soo...no Corvette GT1 cars, No Aston Martins and No Lambo...so it'll be Ford and Saleen next year along with the whatever car from the JLM gets invited.

Nope, there is no GT1 class here next year.

I thought I heard one of the speed guys say there wasn't going to be a GT1 next year. Just a single GT class, separated by pro and amateur or something.

That's crazy that they'll be no GT1. First ALM, now LeMans. But I suspect some of the cars we've seen in GT1 this year will appear in GT next year. I know there's a Lamborghini Gallardo GT-R that races somewhere. What they should do is invite some of the FIA teams to race in the GT class.

thats correct it will be one class that will be the GT2 spec. there will be Pro for the factorys and top privateers like Risi then AM for all te smaller teams with any car thats more then a year old.

That is what they do now, and the new formula GT1 currently running is more sprintrace oriented, wich IMO shows very clearly in this race. They aren´t made for endurance racing, clearly.
If you want GT1, then watch the GT1 world championship, link in my sig.

Just read the new regulations. I think the GT Endurance Classes will make things interesting. I mean GTE PRO is Bring any car you want and GTE AM is any car over a year old. So it'll be interesting to see WHAT cars turn up for those classes. I see Saleen and Spyker coming back. As well as Corvette and Ford. But maybe we'll see Viper or some other exotics enter.

The Saleens and the Fords are strictly speaking not in production anylonger and will most likely not be there next year. I do expect bothe Corvette and Spyker to come though. Spyker will probably bring their new car Aileron I assume. Others will be Ferrari 458, most likely Porsche in some form, BMW M3. I also expect McLaren MP4-12C, Aston Martin and Jaguar. There is also a chance for others such as Audi R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo.

JLOC in the pits with gearbox problems.:indiff:

There were some nice flame spitting clips from it earlier.

The only reason why the Koineggseg was never raced was because changes to GT1 rules made the car totally uncompetitive.

Edit: Just about halfway through and we've lost almost 20% of the grid. What will the next 12 hours have in store?

If I'm not mistaken, the car still has to be in GT2 spec. So those supercars like Koeniegseg(or however to spell it) is more of like GT1 spec.

You could fit a Koenigsegg in GT2 if it was allowed to have Carbon chassis. Strictly speaking, that is prohibited in GT1 aswell, but the MC12 has some dispances in that area.

Maseratti could toss in their GranTurismo MC car in the mix. and Azcari could appear. Who knows, maybe we'll even see a Tesla car randomly appear. (although, probably not.)

I don't think Carbon Chassis is allowed though. Anyways, the fog is building up out there. Going to hurt some drivers visibility.
