But they did not have the time. You honestly don´t think they would have if they could?

That's exactly the point: If they're not capable of preparing a working car in time, why participate in the first place? Just to embaress themselves and the brand Aston Martin?

Exactly what Hampus said. The AMR-One project isn't even half the age of the R18/new 908 programme. It's desinged with next year in mind.

They don't lose anything from trying to run this year's race.

Really now? You think the team manager isn't happy with him? Certainly wouldn't be my first thoughts after a accident like that.

Anyway, I really don't think it's McNish's fault. You can't see anything in those cars, he probably thought he was past the Ferrari, and the Ferrari driver probably couldn't see the Audi until too late.

Was just a very unfortunate racing accident.

Making a stupid maneuver after not even an hour of the race, demolishing the car? No I don't think the manager is very happy with him. I wouldn't be.

Except from their face, that is.

THIS.

where´s the embarrassment? Aston has a deep history in motorsport and is very respected.
They need as much track time as they can get. The car is far from finished but to learn more about the car they need to actually run the car.

It´s actually an interesting design philosophy. Apart from the obvious open vs closed cockpit.
the car body is designed to produce as little downforce as possible.
To cool stuff they have alot of ducts instead inside the body cooling the car and other stuff.
So much of the air goes through the car and not over it like the R18 or 908.

Nice one, I was so annoyed that I cant get this on TV (freeview)

Do you happen to know if there is a limit to how long you can use this stream?

Nope. View as long as you wish.

could anyone tell me who is in 1st, 2nd ..... 5th place atm in the LMP1 category, I can't quite work it out from the chaos of the eurosport coverage

Can't say I'm sad to see Mcnish out, but glad nobody was hurt.

edit: I wonder if someone will play Allan Audi's "it's so easy when you know how Le mans commercial!"

I'm really liking these Audi commercials. It was odd how the Allan McNish one was directly followed by that crash. I woke up just in time to catch that. Didn't wake up soon enough to catch the start.

It was in the first ad break just after the Crash on Eurosport.

News from Medical Center is that Alan is good with no serious injuries. I suspect he might have a concussion especially after the impact...
