Yup, correct. Memory didn´t serve me right! Actually Toyota didn´t have to adapt to the trunk rule either, since they had convinced the ACO that the fueltank could store a trunk when it was empty (!) There are visual differences though, but not as distinct as the Mercedes case.

Still SC. Suddenly I don´t feel sorry for not having eurosport 2. Must´ve been a really boring 2 hrs!

Audi in the pits!

Keep in mind that rule only was enforced in 1998, though. I think Toyota convinced the ACO of this matter before the TS020 ever was drawn so that they could design the TS020 around their little sneaky exploit.

I have it but don't reccomend it at all. Crashes frequently and the live timing doesn't even show gaps 👎.

This, together with the A.C.O one just to be on the safe side, is your better choice for live timing. It even has tweeter feed:
http://www.thomasbaekdal.com/mini-sites/lemans2011/

It still doesn't have gaps between cars that have been lapped, which is completely useless. Previous years we've been given gaps between lapped cars as well e.g.
Pug 2 laps
Audi +20s
Pug +32s
Aston +3 laps
Pescarolo +5s
It was much easier to keep track of those battles, whereas now we can't tell if the GT guys are close or not..only that they are on the same lap.

Pay attention guys to Radio Le Mans!!! Latest tweeter feeds say Allan McNish is about to be interviewed by them, maybe we'll have his opinion regarding the incident.

Take a look at the stickied thread at the top.

That's true. No one here is wishing bad luck to someone else, so please abide by this honour rule.

EDIT: McNish talking about the incident with a very saddened voice :(. He thanks the designers at Audi and says he got the all clear for the medical center. Also says that the car is really good and he feels "flat" and "disappointed".

sorry i forgot my mental powers would fly over to france, find it's way into 7 cars and magically loosen some bolts.

ill just go put on my tinfoil hat from here on, thanks.

..
that got damn vette is running like clock works!
the ideal would be top 7 to crash hard and let bmw come out on top!

Again, a friendly reminder:

The moderating staff understand that people have their favourites in motorsport, and that they might therefore wish the rivals of their favourites to undergo misfortune. Fair enough, but if we see any crash or physical harm being wished upon any participant in any form of motorsport, then we shall immediately issue an AUP violation infraction.

Edit: Tree'd

Ughhh who else is annoyed by the delays of the time said for the safety car to retire?

They said midnight. Then Midnight plus fifteen. Then Midnight and a half. Then quarter to one.

It really was a brutal and bloody hell of a hit the one that armco took!

From Twitter:

#LM24H End of safety car operation expected at 00.45 now...

^It could be true.

I don't really know my opinion on the Audi getting the worst crashes. It could be the Ferraris (Too damn wide or something), or the Audi just wasn't designed with g-force (is this the right turn) in mind. Or the drivers are tired 2 hours through.

EDIT: Or something simple, like it seems like you guys are talking about and agreeing on.

again, it wasn't a wish. i said the ideal would be that which it would.
im guessing the moderators are very superstitious.

Not the moderators, everyone of us. And it has nothing to do with superstition, it has to do with dignity, chivalry, and sportsmanship. As gentleman we are we don't wish anything foul for race drivers given that we know and respect their proffession and the dangers involved.

Don't take it the bad way, just a reminder :).

LOL, the safety cars have done more laps than the AMR-one cars

Bwahahahaha!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:!!! You sir, are vil and sheer hilariousness!

EDIT: And again, they've delayed the time for the safety car to go in. Supposedly coming in now at 00:50.

👍👍👍

I'm glued to the TV for the whole race, McNish crashes, then I leave just to go to the supermarket and Rocky crashes! Both with Ferraris. Something about Italian and German cars that don't like each other? Hope everyone is okay...

Nah, probably just bad luck and hard pushing by the Audi's.

Awwww, Rocky phoned his parents! Gotta love this dude!!! I knew he was a great driver, but now he shows he's a good son as well :D!

Sadly, as Lola confirms by tweeter, one of my thoughts is becoming real: All this pace car periods will help cars with reliability, that helps Peugeot bigtime, considering what happened last year .

you are overreacting.
i did not say i hope they die, i said it would be IDEAL IF they did. (crash not die)
which it would. not even you can deny that.

Long Safety Car period is looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong.

You would make a decent politician, but this is a ridiculous defense. If you think the ideal is many people crashing, that is a wish on your behalf.

Just say 'my bad' and move on. Hopefully there isn't another crash.

Scalage
No it wouldn't

yes it would.

i think most people here just misunderstand this. if your a fan of a certain brand you want to win, but is 7th.
the ideal in a fantasy world would be for the front runners to go off.

and talk about being a politician...
its you guys who are just so politically correct it's crazy.
