When this game comes out, you better believe I'm doing a 24 hour enduro. I'm already planning what I should have ready for the challenge.

Hopefully I'll have my new computer by then and i'll be able to have a live webcam.

where's Moosejaw when you need him? *calls out to him and his voice begins to bounce off mountains and..er..other things* MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSEJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!!!! Whew...there..that should get him :sly:

yeeeeeeesssssssss? :P

What do you need? :D

Also, I think getting 300 laps is impossible. I think if you can get 200 laps, you deserve commendation. And average lap time of 7'12" is needed for 200 laps, which is acceptable.

No one is going to reach any milestone higher than that for Nurburgring... even 250 or 225 is seriously out of the picture in my humble opinion.

If that is referring to my post, I used 300 only as an example, because cjrciadt in the post above mine mentioned that he was looking for an equation to see what the average lap time needed to be in order to get the 300 lap goal. I agree, it's quite unfeasible. The fastest lap time I have seen so far (on the 'Ring) is 5'34.332 with the Sauber S16. And that, of course, is with NO pit stops ;) :D Now I don't know what the fastest time can be with an F1, but I think 4'48.000 (and therefore, 300 laps) would be pretty far out of reach.

Just for info:

250 laps require an average time of 5.76 minutes (or 5'45.600) per lap (which could probably be feasible with the Sauber S16, but you would have to go as fast as a bad mofo, in order to pull it off. Maybe it could be easier with an F1 (but then again, I can't do the math if I am missing the time in which an F1 can actually run through the 'Ring)

225 laps require an average time of 6.4 minutes (or 6'24.000) per lap (which can surely be reached... even with the Sauber S16)

EDIT: Just realized something: substitute S16 (the name of the License Test) with C9 (the real denomination of the vehicle) Sorry about that :indiff: ;)

Moosejaw *pokes* o.O...I was wanting you to be a member of the "24 Hour A-Spec Club" and if you don't mind..Wizard-san was actually.."honorably" going to be awarded Vice-President for bringing up the thought of having a club. But EITHER WAY...till it's official (or in other words..till Wizard-san actually completes a 24 hour endurance race..which won't be till a while  ) how about you join Moosejaw and you can be temporary Vice-President for like 5 years  (with the way things look for the states, hahahaha) What is your outlook on this Moosejaw? Would you like to be a part of it please? :embarrassed:

Yeah, absolutely :)

We could start a new thread and try to give hints and tips for people who are thinking of joining the club :)

Go start the thread... I think you've deserved the honor of starting it considering as you were the first to do it :)

I saw a F1 lap around the nurb, he lapped in at 5'0x.xxx with room for imporvment. I dont know if it was done with the arcade F1 or the sim F1 with settings done by the driver. High 4's are possible with capable hands at the wheel along with a good car setup IMO.
Going with a 5'00.000 average lap you'd do 288 laps "12 laps an hour average". If you could squeze in 12.5 laps an hour would get you 300 laps even, that would be around a 4'45 a lap average if my math is correct. That would be pushing it big time when factoring in traffic, some places you wouldnt loose a tenth but other places could cost you a few seconds, not to mention the possiblility of getting pushed off the track and wrecking. Sounds like fun to get over the 300 mark :D

EDIT: Yep, just checked my PC and in the all white F1 a guy did a 5'08 lap.

I'm pretty sure that once GT4 is released state side...TheWizard & myself will be joining the club ASAP! :-)

Quick Question: Can't find if it's been posted before:
Is there a limit to what type of car can be used for this race?
Or is it open to any car you want to use?

Thx-

AE86Driver
ohhh,I feel this becoming heated, wouldn't you say? Hohohohoho :embarrassed:! Ah,my dear GTPlanet friend,it would not be in your best interest to underestimate cars with less horsepower. Sometimes that can actually be a good thing :P. From my experiences with beating my friends and my cousin while they were driving the Viper GT-S,Porsche GT3 (or was it 911?),Escudo (yes, even on rally for that matter..all it took was him to spin out once and I won this race ),R34,and RX-7 (FD3S),RX-7 (FC3S) all with my AE86 Shuichi Shigeno Version that had a total of 387 horsepower, compared to their over 450+ for the most part and especially Escudo with over 1000+ horsepower. It all really depends on the driver. And no,just because I beat these cars with an "underpowered" vehicle, doesn't mean my friends and cousin that was driving them, sucked at racing and slammed into everything. I was just better on corners than they were. Sure, they would blow me AWAY on straightaway, but they would also have to break heavily before corners and I could take corners at a faster speed than them. But anyways..please do not underestimate "underpowered" cars. Thank you ^.^

~Ja ne~

P.S. Ah,and also..I would appreciate it if you didn't call people "idiots" with underpowered cars, entering races that seem almost impossible to win. Because there is ALWAYS a chance..but please do not stretch the lines of reality by putting a Subaru 360 up against a W12  thank you, have a nice day :embarrassed:

Yeah but the SS Trueno ain't exactly 'normal'. Its another fantasy car that is not only fast, but lightweight & outhandles plenty of cars... So isn't suprising that you'd win 'faster' cars with it.

Thank you for looking that up 👍 The actual lap average for 300 laps is 4'48.000 (you were not off by much ;)). So, yeah, I think it might be definitely possible. But you would have to kick @ss and run like a bad mofo for 24 hours, with no room for errors... That would be an awesome challenge  :scared::D

You can say that one out loud, SimRaceDriver

AE86, what lap times was the opposition running? Namely the R34?

I'd like to know how much horsepower I'm gonna need. :sly: I think I'll try it with a Supra or RX-7, for an added challenge. A Chevelle or Camaro could be an option, but I don't know if those old things could run that long without breaking something.

I want to do it in a GNX, but I know from driving one it's going to handle like ****. I think I'd want to drive something more "friendly" as the night (and day) goes on.

I'm thinking of doing it aswell with a subaru impreza LM like moosejaw did. But every lap in the pits --> I'll skip that. I will take other tires so that I can do 4or 5 laps without pitting. If my lap times are not so good in that 3th of 4th lap its no big deal.

I just don't want to overpower the competition and end up doing a free run for 24 hours. 👎 :grumpy:

You will always lap the AI cars because there are slow. So Like moosejaw said. He could wait an hour and after that he would still be first. So that is/was a relaxing drive and then you can go to the toilet or get something to eat without pressing the pause button 👍

yeah, but ask moosejaw how many a-spec points did he get.
if you want all 200 of them, then you'll be racing each and every second of the 24hrs.
and this is what i intend to do:)

That is not going to be good for your brains. they overcook when you have to concentrate 24hours :sly:

Imagine that you do it and still don't now after 23 and a half hours that your gonna win. I would eat my finger and toe nails :P

Me=Insane.

Just did my 24 hour race. though I did take a break for sleep, went back to play and...when I won...I got my money....got my car....and then got a black screen....and then I got a black screen...and then I got a black screen...and then I got a black screen...and then I got a black screen...and then I got a black screen...

My JPN PS2= The Suckage.

No Way!!!:banghead::banghead:.Sorry for that I would flip it that happens to me!!!🤬:censored:Can you tell us how many laps did you complete and what car you used.??

I used the Sauber C9 (wanted to get it done asap, and what better practice for the S-16 License Test?)

I think my total laps were somewhere around 185+, not really sure as I wasn't paying much attention by the time I finished, I was drained of energy, lol.

I can honestly say that it's no joke though. This IS an endurance race, and just PLAYING the game takes it out of you (using DFP).

I'm going to do it again though....hopefully my PS2 doesn't crap out on me again....

Yeah, I was paranoid that I'd be sooo overconfident about finishing it and taking photos that my PS2 would crap itself before it had a chance to save. Luckily everything worked out just as it should have :)

Umm dude, the race takes a minimum of 24 hours no matter what car you use. You could walk the track and it would still only take 24 hours, because the person to cross the finish line with the most laps after the clocks strike 24 hours is the winner.

SSSHHHH*****TTTTT, That's the ultimate horrror. I remember that one time I was playing an "endurance" in GT3, I went downstairs for a drink, and my sister saw that my playstation was still on (duuhhuu!!!!), she thought I forgot to turn it of.........................................the rest I won't have to explain to you ...........I got upstairs and my playstation was off.............NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO:ouch:

But that's REEEEAAAALLLYYYY nothing compared to :ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ouch::ill: a 24 hour race that you have lost (caus of that black screen I mean)
