Cheers for that Tommi, that downloadable timing board is superb, got it right across my desktop as we speak :)

I'm looking out for the Audis as I have rather a soft spot for them, as well as the UK teams/drivers and the GT Academy team - reading up to 25th right now overall on the timing boards, but no pitstop thus far from them. Whenabouts will they be pitting do we think?

Also, just listening to Schneider's interview on the live stream, he makes a wise point about lapping slower cars - 'if I loose time in one corner, I can gain it back elsewhere. That is the rules, the slower cars have to fight.' Key part of enduro racing, especially here where the lineup is like the Nurb 24hrs - with GT3 cars sharing the track with Megane Trophy cars and essentially touring cars. Did make me laugh when I saw a leading SLS lap a Mini :)

Now. I think Jordan has just taken over from Lucas. :)

Edit: Apparently there is a problem with the brakes.

I think Bryan's just had a coming-together - he was gaining chunks on the GC10, to within touching distance, then dropped 40s in one go...

Edit: Full course Code 60 (60km/h speed limit) due to an incident involving the GC10 requiring recovery.

Weird seeing it go dark in Dubai whilst it's sunny mid-afternoon here, haha! Guess with the Nurb 24hr and Le Mans, because theyre in Europe and similar timezones they don't get dark/light more than a few hours before/after us...same with the Sebring 12hours I think?

Race is looking good, keeping tabs on #26 Audi :) GT Academy #100 team down in 33rd atm, in the pit atm. I'm not up on the various classes, how're they doing in comparison to the other cars in that class?

EDIT: Literally as I post that, looks like trouble for the SP3 class-leading Lotus Evora - heard something about being towed. Also trouble for GT Academy car - in the garage with problems :nervous:

Something bad must have happened to the JRM car after what famine pointed out, Its been in the pits for eight minutes now and gone from 27th to 37th.

LOL, they are using regular pumps during the race!

literally the same pump you go to when you are at a track day. Look at the queuing Seat.

Pretty sure they do that from a safety stand point as every team would need a huge fuel tank in their pit garages and that would be very dangerous.

Most racetracks have dedicated fueling for each pit stall, and if not then the teams have cans that they use. I've never seen cars in a race have to drive to a common gas pump and fill up with a regular fuel nozzle.

Less than 20 min. for a brake change on the Nissan, wish I could do it that quick here at home!

You have now.

Seriously, it is a full F1 spec track, they just do it this way because they want to.

It is not an issue as far as I'm concerned

Yep, Jann went out for a few laps and then returned to the pits. :(

Brake failure. Took 20 minutes to replace (I think there's a rule that only 4 mechanics may touch the car at once) and he's back out now. 4th in class still but 45th overall.

Incidentally, the commentators refer to it a lot as "The Gamer Car"

If you had 10 people working on it and air tools you could.

*edit* 4 people :D

I'd say more of a really weird quirk rather than an issue. No way do those pumps fill the tank nearly as quickly as the normal quick-connect type fillers that they use. Fueling stops must take forever.

They've had a brake issue right from the start. Lucas was complaining about it.

The britcar 24hour at Silverstone (seen on topgear) used pumps at the far end of the pits near the exit to, Not like the teams want a truck load of fuel in the garages, Plus race directors and safety crews can keep things alot safer if all the refueling is done in a very limited space.

If you think that's a quirk, wait until you see what happens in the Nurburgring 24 hours! :)

I can understand it for an amateur-type race, but for a race where you have your own dedicated pit stall and pit crew, I don't understand why you would do it that way. Just never seen it before, that's all.

How do you see their ranking within their class?

More to the point, where in the car can you put the free glasses and torches - and how do you fit a Visa card into a fireproof race suit?

Indeed. I guess it became more terminal.

How do you see their ranking within their class?

You don't. But the other cars in the class are the #27 Mustang, the #103 Megane, the #101 Viper and the poorly #105 GC10 (it's a BMW 1M with a V8), #107 DNRT V8 (it's a stock car - you'll have seen them at Race of Champions) and the #110 Corvette.

They do it that way at the Spa 6 Hours race too. I think they do it this way in races where there's a high proportion of cars/entries compared to pit garage spaces, as much as they do it for the fact that the teams are probably quite amateur.

Yeah i was thinking long race with lots of cars would make the shared pumps a better idea, Though very annoying if they person at the pump is still in the station getting munchies making everyone else thats in a rush wait :grumpy:

Correct. They were briefly 2nd (they were 2nd to the GC10, then the Mustang passed them, then the Mustang passed the GC10, then they passed the GC10, then they pitted) during Jordan's stint, and were running close to the Viper and Megane until the brake issue.

Jann is in 3rd the SP2 class.

Anyone know why Jann and Brian are down on the entry list for RJN Motorsport 2 in SP3 class #120 aswell as the SP2 class "Gamers Car" #100?

Do they get two drives?

I wondered the same thing myself. I imagined that it's because they were originally slated to drive the RJN2 car before someone decided to make an all GTAcademy team. Possibly.

That SP2 Viper is ludicrous. It's 5s a lap faster than the 370Z - running a best lap 3s quicker than #100's qualifying lap...
