You were .4 off the leaders!

I was hitting 1'30s in practice. Feeling quite good actually, probably two corners that I think I can do better, the final corner and one of the right handers in one of the left-right combos.

I've been really ill, i've been off school for the first time in 3 years but i've been able to do one practice race, which wasn't a great one because of my constant headaches, feeling hot, cold and my general coughing.
Anyways, I managed to get around the 1:29s-1:30s I think, although I think I would be able to go faster if i wasn't ill as i'd be able to concentrate much better.

Also, i've never heard of people being faster on the outlaps, i don't see how that would make sense as you have more fuel in...?
Can anyone explain please?

EDIT: Hopefully i'll be able to get another practice race in before Sunday. I really don't want to be 3-4 seconds off the leaders.

Outlaps because you're driving on the inside of the circuit, the laptime starts as you cross the line be it in the pitlane or on the track, so at Interlagos you're basically short-cutting some of the track in the pitlane. An outlap refers to the lap you start exiting the pitlane.

If you don't feel up to hosting, Kak, you don't have to turn up. Hope you get better soon.

Ahh, okay Ardius, that makes sense. The only trouble with the outlap is having cold tyres, but obviously that doesn't make that much difference.

Hmm I might actually be on pace this race. Did some practice last night and was 1:29.7-9s pretty consistently. I have a real tough time with S1 though, bet I could shave a full second if I figured it out right and got grip exiting the slow turns.

For the Superbowl race, I vote Monday. Friday nights aren't great and looks like a lot of people are booked that whole weekend. 👍

Ardius ,

Will it be ok if the NTSC group runs on Monday ? This appears to be the most likely choice judging by some of the replies that are starting to come in.

Well so far, only 4 drivers have said they can do Monday, 5 of you have said you can do Saturday and 1 of you said they can do Sunday.
Thats out of the 6 replies I've had from my PM.

So 4 people haven't replied - no idea what they want to do.

Edit: 3 people, lol, FastDuck.
I'll set it as Monday and people can say if they can't do it, because it seems to be the only way of getting people to respond.

Around the low 1:27's, and the outlaps can be 2 seconds faster.

Anyway's the outlap at Interlagos can be 5 seconds faster

I really do struggle at the Nurburgring as you can see from here:-

Yes but everyone was tinkering with their set ups for hours and you just turned up on standard settings and blitzed most of the field. You serious about most of your laps being low 1:27s? If that's the case then i'm only a few tenths off you as opposed to a couple of seconds as is usually the case.

Doesn't look like it judging by the time.
Also, i've managed to consistently get myself into the 1:29s and into the 1:28s on some quick laps, which isn't front running speed, but will do me much better than if i was a second slower. So I think I could be looking at a 5th place if I am consistent, 4th if I am lucky but maybe a 6th place if I am not so lucky, lets hope that it's not the latter, but with my luck I wouldn't hold my breath.

And i'm still pretty ill too :(

Cool, I'll try to be there. Nice PW. :sly:👍

Just wondering, what sort of pitstop times do you guys manage? I think i did a 7.0 flat a couple of times before but i've never broke into the 6's. 7.2 secs would probably be a good pitstop for me.

Well, I'd say you're doing just fine with those times. However, it certainly exaggerates how uncoordinated I am -- managing stops around 8.2 most of the time.

7.2s are what I usually get, but with a wheel now I'm slightly worried, I'll have to practice a few later.

PS: @ Z, what type of race car is that running with GT sponsorship, in your avatar?

I usually do a pitstop at about 7.6s, which is also the fastest i've ever done a pitstop, so seeing as you guys are .4s quicker, then I will need to improve on my times as well as my pitstops.
