Hi everybody, i´m Jimmy from Spain.

Yesterday i was playing F12006 CE and i was invited by Shaggy Alonso to join your forum and your races. I think i´ll need a team, What do i have to do??

sign me up for williams

Welcome to both of you, hope you enjoy our rag-tag PAL championship :)👍

This is not a good argument. There is not way to show evidence other than the word of the drivers. The glitch had happened before (expected or not) with no "solid evidence" and the final standings were altered. Someone was affected at Nürburgring and I was pushed back one slot, now I was affected by the glitch and arguments like the one above come up. I don't care about the final standings on either race. I'm expecting consistent judgment from the community. My opinion was to keep the game scoring at Nürburgring. I have the same position for the results at Silverstone even though I was seriously affected. Going forward, we have to options for those circuits known for having glitches: skip them or accept the game results. I don’t rally care, I race for fun.

My comments show my point of view toward certain situations that I believe we can improve upon to make the online experience much better.

I completely agree, however, we didn't expect the glitch in Silverstone's case.
With Nurburgring, we could piece together the real results because all drivers were alerted to the glitch and took notes, but in this case thats not possible.

Hence why we have the 3 choices. This is why I've left it for you guys to decide, I'm inclinced to just scrap the results but I feel that some drivers might feel this is unfair on one of their best performances or whatever.
On the other hand, if we just use the results we've got, I get criticised of not keeping to a standard rule set.

I can't win, so I won't bother deciding, unless you can't come to an agreement and I'll just scrap it anyway because at least then no-one benefits unfairly.

Well yes it is possible to have video evidence. You can choose to record the race, many folks do it look at youtube. The first deal was quite different we KNEW what was gonna happen and it did. Just seems it happens to some more than others. My 2 cents.

And having said that I will let it go.

Indeed, nothing was stopping anyone from recording the races, but to be fair we probably should have thought of that earlier.
I tend to agree with mofongo that we should stick to a standard rule set and not change for each circumstance, but its hard for me to do that in this case.

Guys,

There are 3 tracks, possibly 4 where the Glitch may/will occur.

1. Nurburgring
2. Melbourne
3. Silverstone
4. Suzuka

Well, at least I now know I'll be screwed one more time, lol.

1st practice session at Montreal, best time 1.10.5xx

Race pace looks like low 1.11's

Again, a massively fast lap Lewy. My fastest was a 1:10.7xx, draft assisted on the straight between turns 8 and 9, but not on the back straight.

My fastest regular lap was a 1:11.001, but high 1:11's looks like my race pace so far.

I was mid-high 1:12s last night, finally got S1 down, need to work through the next 2 to shave more time.

Z ran a 1:10.5 last night as well. Looks like Low 1:11s will be the race pace though. The curbs are so slippery!

You do all your practice online do you not shaggy?

I use offline practice but keep all setups default, whether there is a variance in the lap times on the 2 different modes I'm not sure.

There will be, the cars offline have different statistics, online they are all the same. I've certainly found a difference in handling of the cars.

I shall be on-line tonight about 10PM GMT doing some online practice if anyone is interested.

Haha well that would explain it Lewyos. What car are you using offline? I dunno why people think the online cars are equivilant to a Ferrari or Renault offline cos they're not as powerful. I reckon the car is equivilant to roughly a BMW Sauber. I mean, offline I achieved a 1:10.3 in a Toro Rosso (albeit tuned up) which is well more than what I can do online.

If you use default settings off line you will be considerably slower than online, at least on the Renault. I ran a test last night. My race-pace was 1.5 sec faster online than the off line default's settings.

Bizarre, is all i'll say.

I use the Quick Race option. I used BA = 1; TC = 2 for both online and offline. I felt the acceleration was better online, handling is basically the same. I was able go through the gears much quicker that off line. I must admit that I need more practice at Canada. I ran in the low 1:12.xx average, being my fastest lap 1:11.3xx

Either way, there's no doubt that default Renault/Ferrari is not identical to online cars. I just tried a Renault all default settings apart from soft tyres and achieved a 1:10.9 in Montreal on only my second hot lap. That's faster than i've ever been online without a draft. The car definitely felt faster. It seemed to have more acceleration in the lower gears and was generally easier to drive. A Ferrari would be a couple of tenths faster again at Canada given how long the back-straight is.

Bottom line is though, the only way to practice for online play is to go online, it's the only way to be sure.

The only reason to practice offline at all would just to get famiar with track. But even then your better off just practicing online because braking points and all will be different, due to car difference. And yes Lofasz it makes no sence at all not to be able to tune an F1 car for online.

You might be right. I don't even know what tires I had on when I ran my test laps. I will give it a shot one more time tonight.

You cannot influence tire selection for online EVERYTHING is default, all you can do is adjust the live dynamics ie brake bias and TC,what your setup is offline has no bearing to online car.

Yes he knows that, but I think the point is that all default settings on a Renault is not absolutely identical to an online car. They feel different to me.

No-one said the online car was based completely on the Renault/Ferrari - it was just assumed. It could be based on the Honda, Toyota, BMW Sauber, whatever.

Are we going to decide what to do with the NTSC results or what? If we don't come to a decision by Sunday, I'll just ignore the race completely.

I think the faster offline cars with default set up are around 1 second quicker than the online cars.

A 1:10 online at Montreal is a good lap :)

I thought we decided to just accept the results because no one was 100% sure and no evidence otherwise?

I want a more conclusive decision than that, only 3 or 4 out of the 10 drivers said they were fine with accepting it.

I was One of the most affected by the glitch. I'm fine keeping the score. However, I don't know how FormulaNone and Racecar feel about the situation.
