How much credits did you get with that pp?

Sorry, didn't care enough to remember. My credits were maxed out anyways. I have over 700 cars now, mostly from UCD. If I ever want a NCD car I'll buy as needed. Occasionally I'll get OCD cars. Finally got that GSX concept from there, for example.

Geez, I dont know if i'm doing something wrong but I can't buy a win on these seasonals.
I don't know if its the PP system that changed or if you need to be master tuner or a gt-academy finalist to gold these event but its plain not fun.
Took like 3 attempts to gold London, no biggie haven't drive these Roadster in a while so I was going safe at first.
Then I went with Indy maxed out at 380 pp something like 162hp. I'm barely shredding the tires, never released accel. didn't bump anyone and I finished like 4rth, 5 second from the win. WTF. Seriously, I might have forgot the chassis or to strip some weight instead but whats the point, really?
Did anyone had fun doing this seasonal?

I had a blast with these seasonals and even tuned six different cars for them (see a few posts above). I could win most tracks between 330PP and 350PP. The Eifel track was a bit more difficult.

I have opposite results to you. Easily won at Indy, it's all about your gearbox and making it have good acceleration and top speed. At London, my Roadster couldn't get the job done only managing 3rd on 3rd attempt. This is only one of two seasonals I've ever given up on, the other being the Super GT (my car wasn't handling nicely).

Indy was incredibly boring and at London I had as much fun as a 5hr long tooth removal. By Edward Scissorhands. They need to be fun! :)

2.11 has made London a serious pain in the rectum. Closest I got was 3rd with the leader in sight. Now I can't get better than 5th, 23 seconds behind!!! Yeah, great job PD. They "fixed" our PP, but not the AI Rabbits.

After the 2.11 update I cannot do better than 3rd in any of the events. Has anyone managed to gold any of the races post update? If so what car are you using? Any car that you buy you have to down tune it to even take part!!

Try building one of my tunes from above. In my garage they are now all around 400PP. You can either use the power limiter, or better yet, build it with engine tuning and weight reduction of 1, not 2. The handling will still be there.

I haven't posted this tune to my garage yet because I am still working on it. The 89 premium Miata was always an easy car to make handle well until the 2.09 update. I have been working on the car over the past week to get some of the added 2.09 understeer out of the car, but may have gone too far. Below is the tune so far. I will post the final tune sometime this weekend.

2011 Mazda '89 NA Special Package from Premium Garage

If the car is too loose for you on entry, raise the LSD decel a bit and make the brake balance more even.

If the car is too loose for you all the way through the corners, either lower front springs or raise rear or both. Springs more even will calm the car down some.

Loose is fast, if you can hang onto it.

I'm having the same problem, just tried your tune above and results are:
380pp
power limiter 71.6
117BHP

I tried this seasonal a few weeks ago with a stock mx5 (can't remember which one and got a couple of golds with a ds3, now can't get anywhere near with a G27.

I'm guessing this one's not gonna be possible now with update 2.11

You tried the draft tune. Using that much power limiting will make you slower. I posted 6 other tunes at around 350pp. Try one of those instead but with stage one only.

Just tried this because I am bored, against the 1st lineup I finished 2nd at London around 5-6 seconds behind. Went again with a slightly changed transmission against the 2nd lineup with a Eunos Roadster (NA Special Package) on pole and won easily by around 4-5 seconds.

Edit - All events complete & golded, not too hard really just based on the fact I didn't have to retry too many times at all. There are slower lineups that help a lot, hardest tracks were Indy & Eifel, both were won on the final straight by fractions of a second.

What sort of mods do you have on it? 2.11 made the pp380 setup I had, go to about 450. Same car as you're using.

This is my first post. Hi! I'm here because of this particular Seasonal event.

I've played and stomped every single Gran Turismo. I got GT5XL in November 2012. I'm lvl 38 with over 650 cars so far and pretty much buy everything I don't already have just in case I'll need it at a later point. I've completed all but the last two events in A-Spec Elite with Gold. I've not done any of the enduro stuff because I can only play so long before my hands start seizing up. I've got almost everything in A-Spec Seasonal. I complete the TT's I've tried (only a couple so far though) with Gold typically within 10 tries or so. It's rare that any event gives me a lot of trouble but so far I've always come through with the Gold eventually after tuning and adjusting my lines and being patient. I play with either bumper or interior POV with all assists/aids off except for 1lvl of ABS and driving line because my eyes are getting worse it seems and I need some solid reference for braking points though I drive my own line and pick my own braking points. My point is: I can drive and tune and I'm not a noob. I'm not the best by any stretch but I'm pretty good. Oh, and I hate B-Spec and haven't touched Arcade because I just don't care about arcade racing.

This seasonal is making me want to put a bullet in my skull!

INDY is driving me right over the edge! I've tried a few of the setups (from this thread) with multiple cars. I've tried my own setups. I've tried AdrenaTune. NOTHING WORKS! I've bought every single MX5/Miata/Eunos that I don't have when it shows up in the Used Car lot just in case one of them is the right one. The best I've been able to pull is 4th. I draft, I try high lines, low lines, even the GT driving line.

I just don't know what else to do and that's why I'm here. This is bugging me so much that I'm honestly about ready to just quit playing.

Any help is appreciated.

I know how you feel mate, spent 2 months off n on with that Lamborghini 550pps at the ring...the Indy I found a little tricky, the others not too bad,I bought a second hand early mx5 with the lowest pp to allow scope for more tuning power, obv didn't take weight off as acceleration is not important at Indy, just top speed.fitted sports susp, not fully adjustable, all drivetrain mods and as much horsepower as poss, then set gears so I wasn't bouncing on the limiter getting a draft, think I adjusted 3rd and 4th to get me round the corners just below the red line for next gear up..after that try n try again, draft every car you can for the best tow and it,ll come.

Seems that folks are having difficulties with Indy post update as a result of the reversed position on PP. I decided to have another go with my old car to see what changes were necessary just to win the race. So here's an updated tune.

New car (Eunos Roadster NA special package '89) from NCD, No oil change, No aero, Std wheels

All weight reduction except windows ( do not add chassis reinforcement)
Engine stage 3
Racing Exhaust
All suspension, transmission and drive-train upgrades

200 Ballast @ Pos 38 to give 47:53 weight distribution
Engine output 96.4%
150bhp, Weight 1041kg, 380pp

Suspension:
-10 -10
5.8 6.5
4 4
3 3
3 3
Camber and Toe:
2.0 1.5
-0.15 +0.10
LSD:
9/11/8
Brake Bal:
7/6

Gears:
Hit default, set max speed to 112mph (all the way to the left) then set each gear as follows;
1: 3.309
2: 2.528
3: 1.982
4: 1.601
5: 1.335
F: 2.822 ( should give max speed of 160mph)

The final gear setting is for the Indy course only so you will need to dial it back for the other tracks ( see previous post for deatils ) . I've ran the race 4 times and either gain 1st on the back straight in the last lap or as late as the final corner but it's still a comfortable win.

Note: YOU MUST DRAFT! After the first lap the cars split into packs and you must use the draft from each pack to slingshot up to the next to gain the draft again. If you fail to do this it will be a tough win.

Happy racing :)

thanks for the great tune.. could finally get gold for these races..

Greetings,
Thanks for you comments. I am a terrible driver...so I need lots of help.
Off to try an improve my best 4th place finish.

Not sure if it's just tips for winning Indy you are asking for but if so then that tune I posted above is by no means a great tune but it seemed to work for this TT. The way to get the most from it on Indy is;

1) Drafting is your friend
2) NEVER use the brakes. You only ever need the slightest lift at the entry to turn 1 and turn 3 the rest of the lap you should be hard on the gas.

You have to make sure you are hitting your apex's on the turns as the car will drift quite a bit and if you are off line then you'll have to come off the gas to avoid hitting the wall. Any contact with the wall will scrub off a lot of speed.

The biggest problem is deciding to overtake on the high or low side of the AI if you meet one coming into a turn. Neither option makes much difference other than high side will make your turn precision more critical to avoid rubbing the wall.

Good luck 👍

These are a pain, gold on indy fairly easily but they others are bronze at most, hate it when the rs '04 comes up with 395pp wtf, even the 1800 rs at 391pp was a bitch. Got all miata/eunos/mx5s all at different tunes, with different turbos/supercharger, fully stripped or high power, still cant catch leader who is pretty much a lap ahead on london. Would it be worth getting a new 04 RS and keeping it low pp (current is well over 500pp)

I'm probably missing something pretty obvious, so please be kind... I'm new to the game, and am trying to do some of the Seasonal events. It seems when i try to do this tune I end up at way more than 380pp just from the weight reduction and engine tuning, and end up at lower HP. Could you tell me what I'm missing so I can use your tune and be a little more successfull at this event =)

You do end up with more than 380PP, not by a whole lot though. Buy exactly the same car, do the things described then lower the engine HP to get to 380. I've run Indy about five times, finally got gold, and it works. My car is about 95 percent power now since you gain PP the more times you race the car, up to a point anyway.
Tip: I'm not sure you need to set the top speed to 160. I lowered mine to 150 and won by almost a second. You need the acceleration and you do have to draft to win but I found the 150 top speed gave me a quicker first pass.

Thanks for this tune. I had already won these all before the 'upgrade' so it was a challenge to win again. This works well for Indy, although I changed the top speed to 150, and I'll try the rest later.
As for drafting, if anyone is having a problem with Indy, this is what I learned:
1. You have to draft to win, as the OP said. \
2. Drafting doesn't mean you have to sit on the guy's bumper. As long as you are driving RIGHT behind him, not to one side or the other, you will both pick up speed.
3. In this tune, top of 150, pull out at the last second when your speed is about 143, keep control and you will maintain that speed for quite a while.
4. Keep drafting pack by pack until you are drafting the lead two or three cars then whip by them.
5. Keep to the inside of the track, don't brake and don't slow down or hit anyone or the wall. If you keep to the inside, even slightly onto the grass on the corners, you will clear the wall easily.
6. You could restart the race before the end to pick up one or two PP. This is a cheat but for newbies it works well.
Don't get discouraged! If you want to borrow my car, add me online. Nick is the same as here.

Great tune! It took a little bit of work to get gold on all of the race and simply adjusting the top speed (via final gear ratio) helped a bunch.

Haha exactly the opposite for me, I really struggled in Indy, so I decided to do the rest first which was (kinda) easy in the roadster. Then I realized I should get the 89 Roadster, which I did, tuned it until 380pp and still it was a close race, won by 4 tenths I think.

My first post here, i think i'm missing a trick with this event, i'm really struggling to finish any higher than 3rd. I.ve tried 3-4 different set ups from this forum and followed them word for word, every body else seems to get more power for their 380pp than me. Am i missing something?
Help!!, i'm coming close to just leaving this one and moving on.

At these levels the little Miata is underpowered so I doubt you are missing anything. If you have set everything as per the tunes including the gearbox then you probably need to work on keeping momentum with this car. Brakes are your enemy and once you slow down it will take an age to get back up to speed. You really need to be super aggressive in the corners.

One tip that may help is to set your brake balance to 1/0....You will still have brakes but they will come on much more gently and will give you much more control.

BTW: Welcome to :gtplanet:

I just tried to tune some cars to the tunes in the thread and I cannot get close to the BHP previously achieved (except for argon56 tune. post166 above). Could be something to do with the changing of the pp with the updates. Luckily I had already golded these. Good luck and welcome to GTPlanet.

UPDATE just tried Argon's tune and I could get golds with difficulty. One tip with the new car is to restart before the finish line if not going to win. This will let you have one or two BHP for the next race which just may help.👍 Waddy already said this and has other good tips.

@Argon56 great effort with the tune:bowdown:
