It works with the free version of Sketchup.
MatskiMonkI've tried this, and haven't got it to work?
It works fine for me... Are you sure you have the plug in for it to work?
ooohhhh... the plugin... actually, no I didn't I just downloaded Kerkythea and expected it to open skp files..... huh... guess RTFM applies..
so..
On to my first attempt at 3D stuff.
To get some practice I decided to model the factory/warehouse at work. Since we are having a mezzanine floor put in and there would be lots of re-arranging of stuff, I agreed with my boss that it could be a project I'd do officially for work. I must stress that I've never really done any 3D stuff at all before...
I could put more detail in, however, once they are dumped into the file that contains the warehouse and all it's fixtures, fittings and equipment, (one) of my computer(s) falls over, so I've had to limit the detail. It's an 8000sqft factory so there is much to do. I'm about half way there, these are just afew of the machines, and not finished yet at that.

I'm pretty happy with the way it's shaping up, but I think I'll need to upgrade my computer before long..
When I'm moving around, some groups just turn to rectangles.... what should I be upgrading.. ram, processor, graphics??
edit: This computer with its standard HP onboard graphics card with upto 8× anti-alias live in google sketchup.. my work comp with expensive dual DVI output graphics car won't anti-alias at all live in sketchup...

That's brilliant work! I'd like to have a go sometime...
This thread reminds me of this 3D model:
I sometimes do modelling with SketchUp, but mine lags a lot if I have too many polys!
Some epic stuff here guys!
