3D Modelling, Post your 3D models! (Cars, Planes, People, Landscapes etc!)

A landscape I created with Vue 9:

Hmm, so I found myself stumbling in here after noticing the link in your Sig, Drumming

AND

WOW! What to say, 4:00 in the morning and I really want to do some 3D modelling. All of this stuff looks utterly brilliant!

This was my second ever model I've made about a year ago and in my opinion my best

I also made this car I then changed it to try to put it into a game (Mobile Forces) but it failed because i messed up the faces

This is the last one I've started but I doubt I'll finish it as I messed up making the side windows and they are totally flat and I still have no idea how I could make it properly

Opinions?

You're on GTP aswell Venom? Nice xD Cool model by the way.

I am all over the place lol...
And thanks :)
I keep telling myself that one of these days, I will get something in FSX.... well laziness keeps that from happening lol...
I'm probably gonna need to find someone willing to convert my models into FSX.

Another random WIP of my Pegasus transport:

I like it. :) One thing though, the wheels do seem a little small. :P

Reminds me of my work when I first start (cars, not the plane :P). Unfortunately for me, I realized that I'm not the greatest when it comes to making a car from scratch (as in imagining my own car, rather than using blueprints and making existing cars). I don't know if it's the same for you, but if it is, you may want to try what I do (see the first page) using blueprints. However, if you are comfortable making your own cars, I say keep at it, because you will only improve. :) My only advice (regarding "I messed up making the side windows and they are totally flat and I still have no idea how I could make it properly") is to just make the basic body shape first, before adding detail, then refine it from there.

And just a little update on my work, I'm going to get back into trying to finish the R8 in my 3D modeling class at school. It's been a while since I've done anything, so I might be a bit rusty at first. :)

lol, with 4 wheel main landing gear bogies it doesn't need large wheels. Also space limitations required smaller, narrower wheels to fit in the space required. The plane may look big and heavy, but it actually isn't.

I might try to make a model based on blueprints. What I probably will do is draw what i'm thinking on paper then model it, this way I know what I'm doing instead of making it up on the way.
Also I have just looked at you first post, how did you make 94K polygons??!

That could work, but the one thing you will need to watch out for is if the drawings for all the views line up or not (I don't know how to explain it, but if it happens to you, you will know what I mean).

And I don't actually make the 94K polygons, I create a model with a lot less, then use a plug in called "Subdivide & Smooth" (video below)

Unfortunately, it's not free. So you would have to buy it. But it is definitely helpful once you figure it out.

Been messing around with a car design of mine that I call the Lynx recently. I started modeling the design about 3 years ago, but never finished. Instead, I constantly updated it whenever I worked on it till it got to the point it is at now:
Lynx-44.jpg

Has just over 30,000 triangles at the moment, and is still far from being complete.

Picture spam time! This time with thumbnails yay!

That F-58A Hammer is just

I haven't touched Sketchup for a while so I might have to reinstall all the plugins, draw up something and model it before I have to go back to school.
I can only do that when my brother fixes and put my laptop back together though.

Here is the last car I've started:

It's not looking like I was hoping though (too long?)
I still need to finish the back end and then make the cockpit

Looks quite Caterham inspired! :P It won't look too long if you widen the body after the wheels a little. Though it could just be the angle of the picture. Post a few more so I can see if I can be of any further assistance. :dopey:

About the front fenders, did you use a plug in to shape it to that? There is quite a lot of polygons in it and, if you're like me, then you're too lazy to make them all yourself.

I have just made the headlamps, they MIGHT have gone into the wheels but it looks alright.

Yup, so it's only be an off and on project, but this was a lighting test render I did a little while ago.

The project is to produce a 3D map of the factory at work.. it's probably about 60% done here. As it turned out, I haven't got the settings right for the interior lighting yet.

That's pretty much how i imagined it to be (smaller wings), I'm just not sure how to make it like that, especially the side panels.

PS: I'm thinking of it as a sports road car

It takes a bit of patience. :P

If you're making a road car do you mind me using this design? :dopey:

I'm thinking about cutting the side panels on your plan and use that as an intake and give the front end a wing like the one on the X1 in GT5

I made a plan similar to how you made yours to show what I'm thinking.

I'm wondering whether to use normally hinged doors or GULLWINGS!
