We're not sure on our preferred times yet, so don't take those as confirmed from us, but either of those times should work for us.

I'll post our confirmed times tomorrow morning GMT sometime.

OK... Left Dec 3rd, but took out the specific times. You can quote whatever is the latest version tomorrow and update.

I'm setting a deadline of tomorrow November 19 @ 23:59 PM GMT for teams to submit their time preferences after which we decide without their input.

December 3rd should be fine for most of us, in the interest of avoiding duplicates which we totally understand, would it be possible to run the WOODONE GT-R or RAYBRIG NSX?

...would it be possible to run the WOODONE GT-R or RAYBRIG NSX?

Maybe... at agreed upon specs one of those cars could be allowed. The NSX is tricky to homologate at a single track with a GT-R as both cars just tend to have different strengths and weaknesses. That might be OK if we can just equalize it at a track like Spa that has different sector types. It may be a little extra work, but I'm open to the idea at least with input from the teams.

The alternative, which is less work and will create less debate, is just to allow duplicate GT-Rs and just allow teams #5 and #6 to pick a GT-R so that each semifinal contains no duplicates *after* the brackets are determined. I explained this system at the bottom of this post after the sample bracket randomization.

Edit:
I don't think it's worth it at all to try and get the Woodone, it's just a mess of a car. After testing numerous configurations it only did well at flat straight tracks. Spa would be manageable, but again, not worth it.

The Raybrig at PURE spec would need to just be dialed back a tad for Spa and it'd be exactly on par.

Our Lexus and Z spec is much better matched off the bat.

If league 5 and 6 choose not to use duplicate GT-R's I believe the best car additions would be the Lexus or Z because of the ease of matching performance with the GT-R's.

The four GT-Rs then the two SCs would work. You all should try testing them at our spec in the testing races you're putting together to see for yourselves.

So it looks 90% like we are ending up with December 3rd @ 18:00 GMT for the event pending final sign off from ICGTC. 👍

Let's move our "captains agenda forward" to the next two topics (Format and Bracket Selection) which I believe should be pretty clear cut. And then we can tackle the car choice issue for teams #5 and #6.

Format

Bracket style championship.

Semi-final round includes two lobbies with each lobby consisting of 3 teams of 4 drivers. The top 3 drivers from each league score points for their team. The top 2 teams from each semi-final advance to the final, but only the top 3 point scoring drivers from the teams advance.

The final round will include the 4 advancing teams with their 3 point scoring drivers from the semi-final round. All drivers will count toward the team points for the final round.

[Optional] A consolation lobby could be set up simultaneous to the finals lobby for all drivers that do not advance.

Using this format each lobby is limited to 12 drivers which will help reduce network lag issues. Each lobby could also include one or two non participating marshals/observers.

Timing (T=final event start time TBD)

  1. T+00 to T+15.....Warm-up............Pre-race practice [optional*]
  2. T+15 to T+30.....Drivers Meeting....Driver instructions & staging course entry
  3. T+30 to T+45.....Qualification......Single stint 15 minute live quali for the semis
  4. T+45 to T+90.....Semi Final Races...45 minute races in two lobbies simultaneous
  5. T+90 to T+120....Break..............Tally points, determine advancing drivers/teams
  6. T+120 to T+135...Qualification......Single stint 15 minute live quali for finals
  7. T+135 to T+180...Finals Race........45 minute race
  8. T+135 to T+180...Consolation Race...45 minute race [optional]
*Pre-race practice optional, but all drivers must be in assigned lobby at least 5 minutes before the drivers meeting.
Bracket Selection

Random draw to determine semi-final lobby assignment for each team.

I propose using this website (http://www.random.org/lists/) to randomize the room selection. I'll enter in the names of all 6 leagues, click randomize and let the site randomize them in order 1-6. Rank 1-3 will be assigned to semi-final lobby A and Rank #4-6 will be assigned to semi-final lobby B.

I can use the randomizer while broadcasting live to observers via http://www.livestream.com/3D3Racing on Sunday, November 20th @ 20:00 PM GMT.

Log into the stream at least a couple minutes before the bracket selection as there is a required ad to view before you can view the stream.

Team captains please voice your agreement, objections or suggestions to these topics over the next 24 hours on this thread and then we'll move on to finalizing car selections.

when all drive with the gtr the fastes driver win.
that is fair.
the lexus is verry bad and you give lexus lower bhp.
the turbo 2 is not much bether i think one tenths bether.
when the cars must be the same you must give the lexus 12-15 bhp that is then ok.
although i would be take also the gtr.

There's nothing wrong with the Lexus at Pure spec, check out our times for this week's Suzuka race to see for yourself so far:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...GJjVnc0Vjh1WHlkRDZzYUhQNWZZbWc&hl=en_US#gid=0

We still have 24 other drivers to go and most of the GT-R drivers are at exactly the same pace as the top times so far. This is Suzuka with R1s.

But since what tk's said is in the back of every one's mind I'm starting not to like the idea of someone feeling like they'd have to use an SC. Might be better to just go with duplicates in the end. Either that or PURE will go SC if all else fails.

+1.

We can guarantee no duplicates in the semis easy enough so let's just let every team take a GT-R unless they prefer something else. That way there are no excuses or distractions and we don't have to spend our time homologizing or rather re-proving testing work already done by one of the participating series.

Obviously, it would be nice for the videos and pictures of the final event if each team was in an easily identifiable car, but there is still a chance that would happen anyway. And it's more important to us at 3D3 Racing that everyone feel they were given a fair and equal shot.

My earlier proposal stands:

  • We determine the lobby assignments first (randomly) then Teams #5 and #6 choose a GT-R not yet in use in their assigned semi-final lobby.
  • If Teams #5 and #6 are assigned to different lobbies they will each have an independent choice between two open GT-Rs not already being used in their lobby.
  • If Teams #5 and #6 are assigned to the same lobby Team #5 will have first pick between the three open GT-Rs and Team #6 will then pick from the remaining two.

Mine got maybe only 472hp at stock....? Are we talking about same car..?

It was a typo Max.

But good luck with that whole champions' league. You're off to a great start by promoting its reveal by hijacking a thread.

Your history here should speak for itself. I don't want this whole thing de-railed so go ahead and make a new thread with your amazing graphics before you get too many good ideas.

Whatever it was, the truth is that the Stealth has worser weight to pwr ratio
than the others. But no more of this.

Hope You Wardez get a team together and join this also --> FIGTA Champions League

Thank You! See You hopefully on track!

No.
My Stealth GTR GT500 car has 572 - Five Hundred Seventy-Two Horsepower, stock, with oil change and break-in. 1050KG stock weight.
It's a freaking animal, and it has no mods installed.

Edit: If it's just to be the four other GTR's that's fine too.

You're right Dom. 👍 I just got the car today and it's sitting fresh in my garage. I didn't realize it was downloadable and free in NA until yesterday (how did I miss that?). I haven't gotten an oil change or taken it out for a lap and it's sitting at 549 HP.

Ah, I take it us GTF guys are not allowed to enter :(

Well if any of you want a friendly race Vs us just let us know :)

ICGTC is happy with 18:00 GMT preferred time, and 20:00 GMT alternate time.

Also announcing our driver line up (GTP name followed by PSN name):

Arkano5 (Arkano6)
ErikAndre71 (ErikAndre71)
babalulu (ProPersian)
tony kart (IMMORTALPILOT)

I'm also going to echo Tony's comments about the Lexus. Whilst I'd like to see more variation than just the GT-R, we all know that unless everyone is in the same make of car, someone is going to make claims of their car choice being unfair/underpowered/overpowered. I think as a first time event, it would be better to give everyone equal equipment down to the letter (the GT-R's in this case) and if you decide to do this type of event again later, then more balance issues can be sorted then.

What Max was trying to say is that at 610PP (PP limit for GTR's in our event) the Stealth gets 472 hp and 1050kg. Equal to other GTR's with around 516hp and 1100kg at same PP.

👍 We are final on the time of Dec 3, 2011 @ 18:00 GMT and participation of all six teams. Since we've agreed on a single time the format flows pretty easily. The OP has been updated with all the details.

Important note: I have a conflict tomorrow Nov 20th at the original proposed time so we're going to stream the random bracket assignments live an hour later at 21:00 instead.

Bracket Assignments Generated And Announced
on
Sunday, November 20th @ 21:00 GMT

View the random drawing live at http://www.livestream.com/3D3Racing. Results will be posted immediately to this thread with the bracket assignments. GT-R car options for Teams #5 and #6 will be detailed immediately following the bracket announcement.

Note: We are also changing the proposed "Race Quality" setting for the lobbies to "High" pending our own testing. If we have any lag issues in our tests we reserve the right to reduce that to "Standard"

Good work sir 👍 looking forward to the match up reveal. Also, I think it'd be best to name Dennis the captain of team PURE.

Thanks in advance.

huhuhuh, thanks in the past? xD

Had to move the bracket assignment again to 21:00 GMT tomorrow... sorry about that.. Tomorrow is going to be a busy day it turns out.

The format looks great, and our team is all in 👍
Looking forward to the draw tomorrow :nervous:

Sorry, but it's an invitational series, with limited room for this event, and admittedly, it's more poular than we had imagined.
If provide a link to your series for us we may be able to include you in future events, should we run again 👍

Oh ok.👍

But who relies on the PP system to equalize cars?
I know I never do. :P

Of course since it'd already been discussed to add 30kg to some GTR's so the Motul could be used, I assumed the stealth would have 50-80 kg added in which case the cars would be on par again.

And it's been said the Calsonic, Xanavi, and Yellowhat GTR are also slightly different. TBH the way people are fussing about cars it seems like maybe it should be reduced to a one-make, Calsonic seems to be the popular one, and claimed the quickest of all.

Yeah I understand.

We use to race here but the moderators use to ban us from the forums and delete our posts for the most pathetic reasons such as spelling and having conversations what didn't involve our championship lol.

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=200380

We were the most active championship on the site at the time untill we pretty much got driven out.

All of the GT-R's are slightly different

This is our old PP's but you can see some GT-R's have slightly different stats

I wish people would stop stealth hijacking threads.

I've been to your site and all I saw was your admins and mods slagging off the GTP staff team and such. I'm not going to say anything else.

To be fair to xStretch-, I did ask for a link to the series he was referring to and it was provided in line with my request so I wouldn't consider this a hijacking of the thread (especially seeing as it links to a (mod) closed thread).
My only comment as to the contents, is a simple reminder that 3D3 Racing promotes exclusively on GTPlanet, uses their OLR Rules, and expects all drivers to follow the AUP and as such, we expect that all invited drivers stay on the same page. 👍
