I think from now on we need to check people's ping status before we start the race, and anyone who has a yellow or even worse...red ping! Will be kicked out of the Championship and have all their points removed permanently......

Okay, that may be a little harsh. But before the race if people would like to get rid of unnecessary things that maybe using their router more, like MSN and youtube, or if they're downloading anything on their computer or PS3 then pause that or something, because it will effect the lag.

I say this because this is the first race where the lag has been really noticeable, so the better connection we all have, hopefully the less lag there will be overall.

Sorry to be moaner but I need every last point!

Why is Kingmartin placed above me when he left and rejoined the race? I understand there might be confusion due to the game instantly putting me lap down off the start but there's no way he drove more laps in total than me.

But Crooky, during the time that he was out, an AI was driving the car, which is far slower than any of us. Not only that, but he was put into Duck's car, which meant that he was even further back. The fact that he finished in front of you was quite a skilled drive in my opinion.
If he had have rejoined and only done 1 pit stop in total, then we would deduct the time a pit stop takes, but I assume that he did do 2 in total and finished in front.

I left on lap 9 just after my pit stop (shaggy can confirm that as i was just ahead of him) and join in zeroducks car just behind you crooky on lap 9 and you know i pitted as i couldn't get pass you on the track and took you in the pit stops.
Hope that solves it for you kakundoo there was 2pit stops from me buddy. Also i think it would be harsh to kick out the yellow and red ping as HEMlata and duck i noticed on mine have had red and they are two class drivers.

Fair enough. But Codemasters better make a better replacement game with less glitches although that's unlikely given my experience of their recent games...

I hope so too. I think they will put a lot of time and effort into F1 2010 because it is their first shot at an F1 game, and there is a lot of expectation on them to deliver.

I don't think you'll be right at the back of the pack King, as you don't know the other times that people will be or have been getting yet. If you're comparing your times to last season's fastest lap then I wouldn't be disheartened to much as that was set by Fishfash lol, and not only that, it was probably on an outlap, which is around a second faster than a normal lap time.

Yup, there is a free slot at Lotus, Mr Happy isn't participating.

Here's a lap of the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit, courtesy of Michael Schumacher again (I'm finding it difficult to get onboard laps of anyone else from the 2006 season 👎 )

I've had a lot of time on the nurburgring in other games. Did a 60 lap race in rfactor without any mistakes and put down a reasonable 1st place. That's pretty much my prime track.

Good stuff, good time to join us then :)

It's a relatively easy track as well, one that lets you push quite hard without as much risk of incurring a penalty or spinning. The only genuinely tricky part is the twisty first sector, the rest of the lap is quite easy, with the final chicane the only other challenging corner IMO. That said, to go really fast, every corner should feel challenging - if it doesn't then you're probably not going fast enough 💡

EDIT: Just to clarify, I take it you've got a PAL version of this game? Just checking.

Yup, It's PAL, got it off of ebay used but works fine. It's not like most racing games where the online is the real fun, i've had a hell of a time with offline racing. Currently with MF1 in season 1 with about 4 points, and a lot of work to get 4 points. Not to forget the multiple crashes that ruined my chances at points, like Monaco at turn 2, got a good start, avoided mayhem in turn 1, and got spun into the wall by Montoya, DNF. And Montreal, was in the points, had a late stop strategy, was up to 2nd behind Button, tires got worn down a bit too much, and out of nowhere, I spin, crash and my left rear wheel falls off, DNF. only 5 cars finished at Montreal, and Ide got 3rd:lol: So much fun. Signed up for test driver with Toyota, hope that goes well.

PJ, could you add me on PSN please, as I send all the race info (room name + password etc) via PSN, thanks :) and good luck in your first race.

Aww, that's a shame GT4, I remember you were doing quite well here last season, until you had an unfortunate coming together with someone.

PJ-GM if you do make it tonight don't go steaming into turn 1 like you did a monza this morning if the collisions was on you would of taken five people out. See you guys tonight.

I think it's going to be very tight as well. It's going to take skill to pull out a win here, it seems to be closer than ever.

EDIT: I know this is really short notice. But Rob can't make it tonight >_<, so (hopefully you'll see this Gyles), could you fill in please?

 I went outside to try avoid the mayhem, but was too far out to make the corner, so I had no choice. That's not happening today I can hope.

I just need to brush up on some rules. If I ever get disconnected, can I come back as a late joiner? Do I have to use a certain car? I might have some extreme lag as well, so if anyone gets hit by me, I might not realize, and keep on going. Sorry if that happens.

Yes, you can re-join, but if you do it to give yourself an advantage, then that is not acceptable, I know the whole, join later to do less pit stops trick ;) lol.

 so, the race starts at 9pm over there which is about 3 or 4pm for me right? I like the ring so far though, was practising online and won 2 races straight, with a fastest lap of 1:29.6, and I can do consistent 1:30's. Looks like i'm ready :D.

Sorry Kak, I can't help you out tonight 👎

Damn, I knew it would be too short notice. I don't suppose there is anyone else who can help out either. Ahh well, only 1 Brawn car tonight then.

Well, i'm up for grabs, if anyone wants me. I might go to Lotus to help out because they need points, but anyone who wants me, come and have me
