Yeah PJ, you're a Lotus driver. And don't worry guys, I have a driver for tonight lol. He isn't the best, in fact he's not that good lol. But you never know, he might be able to score a point if people don't show up lol.

No worries, if he's really not that fast then please make him aware of the rule about being lapped. Same goes for you PJ, no disrespect, but it is your first race.

Yes I have, I also told him to constantly look in his mirrors, but his R1 button is faulty, so sometimes it might pose some problems, but other than that, I don't think he'll cause too much harm.

I think he has created a new account specifically for this race too lmao.

Ok, let me sort this out with King. I honestly didn't realise you spun due to contact from me. Ginty got past me on the same corner on the first lap and made contact, but I didn't spin. Still all the same, obviously you wouldn't be making it up. Just to clarify, I finished second and King finished 3rd, Hemi says he was 4th, was Ginty 5th? If that's what it was then would it be fair to award you with 2nd place King and for me to be 3rd?

I think Hemi said that he finished 4th because he may not have known that you were glitched.
As for 2nd and 3rd, I'm really not sure because I wasn't there. Obviously we did implement that the rules were, if you're unsure if you hit someone or not, that you should wait for them. Did you overtake King and he spun?

It's ok, I've told King he can have the place back.

In which case the order is

Kakundoo
Ginty
King
Shaggy
Hemi
PJ
Scooby

BTW Jamie, can you swear to me there was no contact on me during my manouevre at the final chicane? The reason I ask this is because I spun, for sure that was my mistake, but then I lost a wheel randomly and was slammed into the wall.

Alrighty then. Well now the order is settled, I want to tell my race story :D

I managed a second place in qualifying, just behind Shaggy, and Shaggy I must say that was an awesome lap. I know that my sector times put together can reach a 1:25.5xx, but I have never been able to string that together lol.
Into the first corner, I kept on the inside as much as I could, and Shaggy braked really late, which meant I could get passed him.
From there, I just tried to keep my cool, I noticed that GINTY was second after turn 4, and I didn't know what happened to Shaggy, until a lap later when I saw a McLaren catching me, which was then when I realised Shaggy had been glitched and put a lap down. It was nerve racking, trying to keep him behind, but I knew he wouldn't risk his position, and there weren't many places he could overtake.
After a couple of laps, Shaggy managed to get my slip stream on the long straight before the final chicane. However, I braked early and Shaggy overshot, going over the corner and spinning, which I think resulted in crashing into the wall.
After that, I just tried to keep my cool and not get any penalties. It was scary because I never really knew where Shaggy was.
I am a little bit disappointed because the fastest lap was a 1:24.6, set by Shaggy and on 3 separate occasions, i've been able to do a 1:24.5, but the nerves got to me tonight and I couldn't string a lap together.

Good racing everyone and I think this was a great result for me :D, 3rd win of the season!

I pushed as much as I have in the 2 days I've had this game, and made a personal best in qualifying(1:28 or something), but was slower than the rest of the field, seconds in fact. Got a great start, avoided all turn 1 mayhem by entering turn 1 from the right side and braked early. Cane out of turn 1 in 2nd or 3rd and kept on being overtaken and left behind because I lost grip from being hit around a bit and damaging both wings, minor thank god, so I couldn't get them back easily at all. Sat like a rock in 5th for the rest of the race. On the last lap, the lappers came around, and I was letting GINTY past, but he spun, and I thought it was my fault, so I slowed down, but then Shaggy Alonso flew by me, and I turned into a monster, pushing like hell to try get him back, and I would have if I had 1 more lap. Good race though,I'm proud of myself. No mistakes or crashes, except 2 spins.

I qualified 3rd but decided to wait for everyone to go pass me the head off to turn 1. After the first lap i was 4th right behind rookie pj and had to wait nearly 2laps to pass him as he made a mistake at the chicane. Then a lap or two later i see shaggy on the side of the road and i was 2nd. I control it in second for ages lapping the same as my team mate Ginty. Then on lap 11 i had a bad lap and Ginty was close, so i didn't want to slow him down and called the pits for my stop and give him a clear road. I carry on and when Ginty came out i was still just in front with 5 laps left. We caught up rookie Scooby alonso and when we hit the start line he didn't slow down or move off the racing line, so had to hope he wouldn't hit me but went wide which allowed Ginty to pass me with 2 laps left. Then on the last lap shaggy was a second behind me and as we was going into turn 4 his front tyre came out of know where and caught my car and i spun into the wall. So i came home in 4th.
Thanks shaggy for giving me 3rd.

Thanks, I just pushed extremely hard after I put in my first banker lap, used all of the track, and some. Hadn't managed to break into the 1:25's before that, though I had managed several 1:26 flats. You needn't have worried about me catching you, after my crash you were miles ahead.

Heh, sorry PJ, Nurburgring has a glitch online which puts the pole man a lap down, so I was actually lapping you, not overtaking you. You did well though 👍

Ok here goes my official race round up:

GTP 3rd PAL F1 Championship - Nurburgring

800px-N_rburgring_-_Grand-Prix_Stecke_svg.png

Weather - Dry

Race order:

1st. Kakundoo - 10 pts (Brawn GP)
2nd. GINTY72 - 8 pts (Red Bull)
3rd. Kingmart1n - 6 pts (Red Bull)
4th. Shaggy Alonso (PEN) - 6 pts (Jordan GP)
5th. HEMIata - 4 pts (Williams)
6th. PJ-FFL - 3 pts (Team Lotus)
7th. Scooby_Alonso - 2 pts (Brawn GP Reserve)

Pole Position -Shaggy Alonso - 1:25.812
Fastest Lap - Shaggy Alonso - 1:24.6xx

Red Bull - 14 pts
Brawn GP - 12 pts
Jordan GP - 6 pts
Williams - 4 pts
Team Lotus - 3 pts

Man, that sucked hard. Another chance goes begging to close in on Kakundoo and instead he gains a healthy 9 point lead on me :indiff:

Qualifying was most likely the best i've ever had. My first banker lap, a 1:26.6 wasn't that bad, but then I upped my pace by 7 tenths on my 2nd lap, then by another tenth on my last lap to take the pole by half a second :sly:

Going into turn one, everything felt familiar - Kakundoo and I make identical starts, but he has the inside line and always maintains it. I, therefore being scared of getting punted try to give him a bit of space but end up getting it all wrong and I miss the apex by about 10 yards :yuck: completely gifting Jamie the position. No worries, I've got the pace, I'll make my way past eventually, but then before I knew it Ginty had already taken me at turn 3, very similar to what happened at Melbourne. At this point I realised that the race victory looked pretty difficult. Mercifully, Ginty got a penalty at the final chicane gifting me second position and I set about hunting down Kakundoo who was just a few seconds down the road.

At this point I was really on it, giving it the absolute beans and did a 1:25.7 on the way to closing up on him. Eventually I got fairly close up and got a great exit out of the high speed Bit-Kurve (T12) and was able to get into Kak's slipsteam all the way down to the final chicane. I was side by side and figured I probably wouldn't have a better chance of getting past him the whole race (with hindsight, this was foolish) and I braked I thought reasonably early, even accounting for the extra speed I was carrying from his slipstream, but obviously not early enough and I was forced to almost straight line this corner, hopping over the kerbs. And then just when I thought i'd pulled it off, the back end steps out and I go hurtling into the wall :( :( :( GUTTED!!!

Not only was it now virtually impossible to catch and overtake Jamie (he seems to never, ever make a mistake) but I had lost position to both Ginty and King. So my aim was to salvage 2nd place with fastest lap, which would only put me one point down on Kakundoo for the race. I get quite close to Ginty then decide to pit early - hoping I could avoid having to pull off a risky overtaking manouevre. Unfortunately, this doesn't work and I'm still behind him. I then incur a penalty at the Dunlop hairpin just as I was getting close to Ginty. I carry on regardless and get close with about 5 laps to go and notice that both Red Bulls were in a scrap for 2nd place, which hopefully would be to my advantage. I get up really close with King who had fallen to 3rd, and he goes wide at turn 3, I'm on the inside then he spins in front of me into my path, I avoid him and drive on only to see PJ and Ginty involved in an accident and all of a sudden i'm up to second - job done.

However, it seems that i'd inadvertently tagged King, resulting in his spin. Therefore, in the spirit of the championship I believe I'm at least obliged to hand King his place back, relegating me to 4th as King still finished behind Ginty. Sorry again King, no hard feelings I hope mate :indiff: I'm just finding this lag bubble impossible to cope with. It makes it harder to overtake than it is in real life! I either play it ultra cautious, and never get close enough to make any move, or I go for it and no matter what happens, it always seems to end in a wreck. When Ginty got past me at the start, it was virtually an identical manouevre to the one I made on King, both at turn 3. In that manouevre there was contact on me too, but I didn't spin. It's kind of frustrating when you leave a car what you think is 2 metres of space and yet still you manage to tag him.

Oh well, thoroughly depressing race! I'll have to keep my head up and move on to Catalunya. This used to be my second favourite track behind Suzuka offline. However, when racing online, the cars just understeer so much that it's a painful experience.

It now seems that the championship is Jamie's to lose. I'll definitely be missing Silverstone and going on his current form, Jamie is gauranteed 11 points there. That would make it a 20 point defecit as the tables currently stand :nervous:

Ugh, Catalunya is not a favourite. Understeer, my least favourite steer, and a very boring track layout with no overtaking. Can we skip this race ? Bring on monaco!! Where all that is necessary to win is to not crash too much:lol:

Wow. I didn't realise how well I was doing until now! Jenson Button style or what! :D

I really do seem to be in my best form at the moment, although I have never been great at Catalunya, so it will be a very difficult race for me there....Although I say that, I did manage a second there last season :P lol.

Should be another interesting one nonetheless, and I think i'll make it a dry one too. No point in having a wet spanish GP, it just wouldn't be right!

what a race for me i started 4th round the first bend i was right with shaggy and Kakundoo then in turn 3 shaggy went wide so i went inside of him slightly touched weel's but see was no harm don. from ther i got into Kakundoo slip stream but i out broke myself at last chican 8sec penalty wish everyone went pass had to push like mad then got passed HEM and pj in 2laps wish put me behind my team mate i pushed him all the way really with shaggy behind us with 2laps to go scooby got in the way made king go wide i kept my line and took 2nd and then i herd crash king was gone then i saw shaggy behind me . then i was coming up to lap pj and took me out and sent me in a spin good race all .thanks for letting me finish 2nd

Thank God for that. Imagine trying to navigate that final high speed corner in the wet.

Is it me, or is GINTY doing really well? Lol :D King, you have yourself some competition there ;)

And I just realised, Shaggy's not going to be there at Silverstone, and my birthday is on the 18th of October, which is when we race at Silverstone!! Thanks for a great present Ben lol. Not to mention it's my home grand prix (well it's most people's home gp, but still, it'd be nice to win lol)

That would be insanely hard :nervous:

Well my b/day is 18th June so technically your present is long overdue. The sooner I receive it the better :grumpy: :sly: :)

Lol, i've given you your bday present already. I've been letting you get the fastest laps all season ;)

In all honesty though, i'm not the fastest guy here, I just try to be as consistent as possible. Correct me if i'm wrong, but apart from Melbourne where I spun on the first lap, I haven't made an error on track yet. All through practice today, I was getting penalties at the Nurburgring, but during the race, I seem to up my game, and even though on the first few laps (especially tonight where my hand was physically shaking lol) I get pretty nervous, I try my best to not make mistakes, then when i get into the zone, I go for the lap times.

I just hope this pays off in Spain, i've never been quick there, and I think it's always been one of my least favourite tracks, because I can't do that final sector :yuck:

Of course ginty is a fine driver thats why i picked him as my team mate. We always have close duels in practice and try not to get in each others way if we are together we will not slow each other down we try and let the faster one through. Thats teamwork we have at REDBULL.

thanks for calling me a fine driver king good things to come from REDBULL yet

Well, at least I managed to get Lotus off the ground a bit higher by adding 3 points. Here's to the WCC!

By the way, did anyone videotape the race?

Yes PJ and I will edit it when I get home after work today and post it. Please note gentlemen that it is getting increasingly harder for me to continue in this championship as the time frame is in the middle of my afternoon. I didn't realize that it would damper my day like it has :indiff: I'm not asking to change the time, just giving an excuse for my lack of performance :( You all are on top of your game and for me to compete on that level I need more practice on raceday and at present I am unable to do so :grumpy: I will continue to try to give an onboard video of each race, I was just hoping that it would be closer to the front :sly:

I really hope that you can keep it going. It'll be interesting to see how you do when we get to Suzuka. It's your favourite track and mine as well, and I remember reading that you once posted a 1:30.9 there

Wow, I've just remembered how much I love Catalunya. I think anyone who doesn't like it, must only think that because they haven't found a rhythm for it, or that the last corner scares them too much. I believe it's the 3rd fastest circuit in the game (behind only Monza and Silverstone) but it feels faster than Silverstone. When you nail the last two corners it's mighty satisfying 👍 especially knowing that you'll be carrying all that speed down the monstrously long pit straight. I also love the way you can feel all the bumps screaming down there, kind of like at Monza. It's such a shame that they've neutered the circuit now. It hasn't helped the lack of overtaking there but instead has only served to take away the spectacle of seeing those cars power through the final sector.

Here's the 2006 world champion, taking you on a lap around this beast of a circuit:

Yep, those last two corners are why I hate this track. If I can manage to consistently do those corners without understeering off the track, then i will be very happy :D

And I think this is one of the only tracks where the real F1 drivers have faster lap times than me online lol.

I have several tracks that I like 👍 Suzuka, Budapest, Istanbul and Silverstone just to name a few. AAAHHH but Monaco is where I have a love hate relationship and the most laps :D I boldly predicted a win in the Bruce McLaren Memorial Championship and won by over 46 seconds which included a last lap crash.......good thing I had that big lead  I'm just hoping that I will get a win or two this go round with the way everybody has stepped up there game :nervous:

I like Nurburg although I like the ring better ;) I didn't think I would do too good as it takes me about 15 - 20 laps to get my rhythm there and I was unable to practice on race day :indiff: But we are getting into a stretch of tracks that I really like and generally can do good time without much practice :sly: so we'll see how it goes :) I got some good footage of GINTY and PJ scrapping in the video 👍 unfortunately that's about all I got 👎 Still a decent 5 minute clip :dopey: Enjoy!!

You probably would have done a lot better without that spin at the start lol. I'm at an on/off part of the season now. There are a few tracks I like, and a few i'm not too good at, which may play into Shaggy's hands.
Like i've said, Catalunya isn't a great track for me, but I love Monaco XD, then we have Silverstone, which I like as a track, but have never been really fast there like I have shown at previous circuits this season, then we have Canada, which is a great track and where I got my first win :D, then USA, which i'm not very quick at either and then France, which is a track I really enjoy.
So very on/off for a few races, and they seem to alternate. So I will really need to maximise the point damage at some tracks, and score well at Silverstone otherwise it might be another tight end to the season because towards the end of the season, I think there are more tracks that suit Shaggy, not to mention that this is where I lost it last season, which could play hugely into my mental state.

However, I'm going to take a relaxed approach to this, try the Jenson Button thing and take everything in my stride. I've won 3 out of 5 races so far, which is already more than I won last season and I'm really enjoying it. I don't think there is any need to think about the Championship just yet :)
