Yes. Can't login at www.gran-turismo.com/us/ either.

Also saw this...

The online service of Gran Turismo 5 will undergo maintenance during the following hours:
Start: 2/6/2012 22:00 EST
Finish: 2/6/2012 23:00 EST
During the maintenance, you will not be able to connect to any of the online services.

That's weird. I can sign into my GTP account but not my mbenz account. Also I have friends online in my GTP account.

Third time (disconnected from the server) is a charm. I'm gonna play Forza.

The tuner cars are pretty much ready to go. I just put a SC on the celica and it drives like a dream.

Last night was crazy. People were stuttering like mad, even in free run, Nic was driving Nurburgring GP/F at full throttle w/e-brake on, though I was the only one that saw the skid marks and plumes of smoke, and then huyler was driving around Suzuka @ full speed doing 360's taking everyone out, only visible to everyone else but him.

What a game.

Edit: Sweet! Just noticed we have new seasonal B-Spec races! That fixes everything...

Lame. I really liked that Celica too. I gave up after getting left at the starting grid of Suzuka to study the Celica tune and see if I could apply some of it's settings to street cars. Sadly, a fully spec'd street car Celica doesn't behave the same way with the same settings applied. I had natural predictable mid corner oversteer in the tuner car and I'd love to know how to get that in a street FF. messing with the ride height doesn't have the same result.

My replay recorded everything I described @ GP/F. I'll put it on Youtube shortly. Wish I had stayed for Suzuka and saved that replay. That was ridiculous. I tuned chat down with that British guy in there constantly talking but could still hear it a bit while racing and knew he was complaining about you helicoptering all over the place.

The Trial is a great car, definitely my favorite FF in the game (and the only one that doesn't seem to push more when online), but mine was/is set up for a HS Ring race in a league a while back, so would need to be retuned.

I guess I could just buy another.

Yeah, by the time we got past the hair pin I had caught up to him. He was doing the jitter. I tried to go around on the outside and we both ended up deep in the sand pits before the back straight. That's when I said eff it.

I'm sticking to private lobbies for the time being. That way we can at least rule out pubbers from the connection issues.

I made this video last night. The 'ring with 400pp CS cars is a blast.

8:29 in a Ford Focus:

8:27 in a MR-2 Spyder

Both cars use no ballast and less than 1% power reduction...but sadly, I don't think they'll work with online physics.

Lol, the screencap from the vid shows exactly what I mean, main straight about start/finish line and nic is lightin' em up...

B-spec races would be fun if the AI was worth a damn. I can't believe how laughably piss-poor the AI is coded in this game.

esh

Esh, this is lag. Are you sure someone wasn't watching Netflix at your house last night or downloading bittorrents? Everyone on the track was lagging. Nic was the worst but when you switched to my view it was still pretty jumpy.

It cracks me up that the lag makes tire skidding sounds. On the front straight as people are passing it sound slike "skiiiid...skiiiiid...skiiiid" lol
