Nice thread, some interesting choices - even some really sensible/realistic ones :D As for mine, a bit more "fantasy" I think - but atleast I've resisted the temptation to go for any Ferraris...

I passed one of these recently on the A1 and it was truly stunning. I didn't know what model of Maserati it was until I watched a re-run of Fifth Gear on Dave and Mr Plato was driving it.
I know what you mean... I didn't think all that much of it until I saw one in the flesh... somebody around my neck of the woods has one and I regularly see it parked just a few hundred yards from my flat. It is a beast, not too flashy, but it just looks gorgeous.

Agree'd, I never realised how long the nose was.

I'll go with Famine's model:

(Relatively) Realistic five-car garage:
The Fun - Renault Clio Renaultsport 197 Cup.
The Track Fun - Caterham Classic or Roadsport. Self-built.
The Family - Renault Espace (that dash is too cool to be real), or an Alfa Romeo 159 wagon.
The Unnecessary - 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 - Ditto
The Classic - Lancia Fulvia.

Unrealistic five-car garage:
The Fun - Caterham CSR260 or R500. A Levante if I'm feeling insane.
The Track Fun - Maserati MC12 Corse, or the FIA GT one if I'm feeling mad? I'll count out F1 cars, since there are too many I'd want.
The Family - Maserati GranTurismo / Jaguar XF. (hell, if the family is wife+kid, a McLaren F1 can be enough!)
The Unnecessary - Pagani Zonda F Roadster (That sound!)
The Classic - Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale or Bizzarrini P538 (Two Beauties AND Beasts!)

Fast, fun, fairly frugal, and still has a warranty. And, it looks like the following...

Audi Fanboy Agitator - Nissan GT-R

nissan-gt-r.jpg

Because it's the ultimate engineering project. And the furthest thing from an R8.

Because I can't bear to part with it and need a project car - Chevrolet Nova (AE82)

100_2159.139151852_std.JPG

(note, not mine, as the only pic I have is HUGE.)

With wantanabe/minilites, Tarmac Rally setup, and 4A-GE.

When gas is cheap - Plymouth Road Runner Superbird

Pbsbf67.jpg

with better brakes/tires/taller gearing, to take a Daytona-spec engine...

When gas is unbearable and I don't feel like dealing with traffic - Great Western Railway 0-6-0 Pannier Tank engine Class 57XX

Coal and water are always cheap. Besides...it's Duck's Class ;)

...but still got two Ferrari engines. 💡

Awesome thread 👍 I went through other people's ideas and spent some time thinking about what I'd really want in my 5 car garage. So if I could have any 5 cars on the planet in my garage these are it (including the colours):

Garage Slot #1: Supercar - Ferrari Testarossa
I've always loved the lines and curves of this Ferrari in particular and everyone's 5-car garage should have a Ferrari :sly:

. . . . .

Garage Slot #2: Convertible - Corvette ZR1
I love the ZR1 and I need a car that I can drive with the roof down.

Garage Slot #3: Big Car - Hummer H1
The original and the best. My big black "back-off" beast!

Garage Slot #4: Family Car - Audi RS4 Avant
Not that I'd have room for a family, what with my spectacular 5-car garage but hey, I love the RS4 so in it goes!

Garage Slot #5: Daily Driver - Subaru Impreza WRX STi 22b
I've always wanted a Rex and having seen one of these in real life it is the shizzle!

I don't think the ZR1's roof comes off. Or are you making a pun at the previous models and how their roofs used to come off? :dunce:

I thought the 2009 model is convertible...if not, it will be :sly:

1. 04 Clio Renaultsport 182 (cheap fun)

2. 03 Clio V6 (have a thing for clios...... also, Clarkson loves it)

3. Renaultsport spider ( always wished they had at least one in the US =[ )

4. Dodge Ram Srt-10 (for hauling plywood, or course)

5. 2006 Honda NSX... do i really need a reason?

1. The Completely Ridiculous - Bugatti Veyron pur Sang (for otherwordly experiences and general all-around awesomeness)
2. The Daily Driver - Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Targa w/PDK (for long trips, winter driving, doubling as a convertible for open air driving)
3. The Entirely Unnecessary - 199x Toyota Previa (for the most insane tuning project ever conceived)
4. The Track Day Warrior - Pagani Zonda R (self-explanatory)
5. The "Normal" Supercar - Lamborghini Reventon (just look at it)

I'd also have 5 trains to complement the five cars (in a separate garage):

Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy
CSX YN3 GP40-2 (preferably with a Nathan K5LA airhorn)
CSX AC6000CW
Nozami Shinkansen
TGV Duplex

:-)
