500PP Racing Car Super Lap: Laguna Seca [Mazda Raceway]

Out of curiosity, I tried the Alpine Vision Gran Turismo Race Mode. I put power-limiter at 50%, added 114kg of ballast at -13, changed brake balance to 2/1, set both front and rear toe angle at zero, decreased acceleration sensitivity, and left everything else alone and ran a couple terrible laps, which was somehow good enough (barely!) for Gold. The car is a dog at 500 PP, but it handles great with the 1 minute simple tune I tried. (TC-1 ABS -1 & no oil change)

1:23.008 right now. If only I could tune my transmission I could get a 1:22.
C'mon PD, quit acting like your working but actually watching basketball and truly work.

Elise 111R Race Car '04 first lap Gold at 1:27.896. I kept downforce at minimum values front and back. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but it easily grabbed Gold.

Did this seasonal with a few cars:

Opera Performance S2000 '04: 1.23.849 (86th currently)
Honda S2000 LM Race Car: 1.24.881
Renault Sport Clio V6 Trophy 24V '00: 1.26.292
Lotus Elise Race Car '96: 1.27.876
Nissan C-WEST RAZO SILVIA '01: 1.28.658
Volkswagen Golf IV GTI Touring Car '01: 1.28.831

Clearly the S2000 is the fastest car for this, didn't try the Amuse S2000 one yet, but I am sure it will be as fast as the LM Race Car.

Some of of you driving wizards need to try the Renault Sport R5 Turbo Rallye '85. I threw a quick tune on the car and ran a 1:26.080 and gave up around a second because of the massive oversteer under braking, and that time was done with using the default auto-set transmission. I have no doubt some of you can run 1:24, or maybe even faster!

I'm giving the Mugen Motul race car as it used to be a fave of mine back in GT5. You can only bump it up to 493pp, but its excellent agility makes up for that.

Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble getting a good time. Sitting at 1:34-ish right now and struggling to go faster. The lack of top speed may be its defeat. :(

Dc5 Racing was the car of my choice, with a nice tight suspension and transmission to keep the RPMs up was good for a 1:29:547 it can be quicker I was on pace for a faster lap but i brake to late just before the chicane.

The MINI Clubman VGT isn't so bad here, actually. Turn the power down to about 300hp and you're easily under 500pp. Understeers a lot if you go into corners too fast however. "Slow in, fast out" is the best method. Did a clean 1.28, and that's all she wrote.

I did 1:22,413 with the Opera S2000 (with DS3, only ABS:1)
My best overall finish was a 13th place at the "New Year: Pagani Huayra Challenge". Now I'm 3rd overall... let's hope for a Top 10 this time ;) :D

EDIT: 1:22,121 ... P1 at the moment!
Congrats! I will download your ghost and see if chasing it will help me some ;)

The Opera S2000 worked great for me got gold after few laps and trying to figure my way around tranny bug with a 1:28.1xx...won't try to go faster until bug is fixed

The one that was in about 8th was the worst top 10 lap I have ever seen.. That car could be p1 with no dramas.

Would you mind sharing the s2000 set up? Pm of you like

Will do m8o, just gonna fine tune it and try and get a 100% lap then I'll post it up in here. 👍

Try adjusting the gears with the top speed slider in the top left, rather than using final drive.
Once you've got it where you want it, you can adjust the individual gear ratios.

Had another go this morning before the rugby and managed to shave another 4 tenths off for a 22.37# but hope to get another tenth or 2 with some tinkering.

Just managed to get gold 1'29"610 with S2000 LM Race car,no tune only body rigidity improvement.
DS3 user.

would any recommend a (standard) wrc car for this event or is it a bad thought?

Could anyone post a tune for the Opera S2000? I seem to be stuck just above the 1:30 for gold and I don't really have a clue how to tune the car.

For the record I don't like my near-stock Opera, the tires seem to lock up quite fast and I'm not impressed with the grip at all. A few days ago I tried the Cusco Dunlop Subaru Impreza, now that thing has phenomenal grip. I could just take corner 4 flat out, if I try that with the Opera it just slides off the track. But grip aside, overall lap time was about a second faster with the Opera than with the Cusco.

I think most of my struggle here is the track, it's the first time I do a TT here and I feel like I'm messing it up in about every corner...

Breyzipp I'll post my setup For the Opera. By far not the fasted but it will help you get gold hopefully.

Much appreciated! Will give it a try right now. :)

This awesome tune would get me into the low 1:23's if I didn't choke in the last two turns and watch Praiano's and NowControls ghosts pull away. Praiano could get into the 1:22's with this. http://gtworld.ca/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=827

Great job @oooMaXimumooo - 1:29.221 first try :) will give it a couple more tries since i screwed up at least 2 corners really bad.

Got it down to 1:27.326 after about 5 more tries but even with that time I still feel like I messed up several corners. Damn this track is a lot more technical than in Real Racing 3. :D

Will give Praiano's tune a try as well, usually those help me out a lot as well.

1:26.911 on the first try with Praiano's tune. Then the next 5-8 attempts or so I couldn't improve on it anymore. Story of my GT life... :banghead:

Anyway happy with the gold and thanks for the tunes guys!

Hmmm, 3125th world ranking for the time being, think that's my highest since I started doing seasonals in february. And now it's even with my handicap setup without pedals and a car and track I don't like. :D

Thanks for the tune! That was perfect.

Tried some more cars (have all cars until 550pp) and the result is that the Opera S2000 is still the fastest :banghead: Hoped for a "magic car", which could be used at the very last night and ending up spending around 1,5Mio Cr. for tuning :dopey:.

@oooMaXimumooo, thanks for sharing your tune 👍

After just a half hour trying got down to a 1:24.071 with DS3 and ABS 1.

Due to circumstances not to much time for all time and drift trails this month but still trying.....
