500PP Racing Car Super Lap: Laguna Seca [Mazda Raceway]

Tried some more cars (have all cars until 550pp) and the result is that the Opera S2000 is still the fastest :banghead: Hoped for a "magic car", which could be used at the very last night and ending up spending around 1,5Mio Cr. for tuning :dopey:.

Have you tried the Cusco Dunlop Subaru Impreza? I drove that car with stock tuning and it sticked to the track like glue (MUCH better than the Opera IMO). Was very fun to drive here and maybe with a proper tune it can have good times as well.

Yeah, tried some home-made tune and grabbed a current 8th overall yesterday with the Opera S200 with a 1.22.120. Tried the Clio V6 again with some hazardous setup and got to a low 1.24. Possible to squeeze another 0.3-0.7 sec. with proper tuning and familiarization.

Here's another Opera S2000 tune in case anyone is interested...

317hp
202 ft-lb torque
920kg weight

oil change & body rigidity improvement

Suspension:
105/95
10.64/9.47
1/1
1/1
7/7
0/0
0/0

LSD 6/8/5

97.6% power with semi-racing exhaust, isometric exhaust manifold, and sports catalytic converter

150 rear downforce, 0 ballast, and window weight reduction

Transmission:
137mph (220km/h) top speed
4.349
3.095
2.335
1.892
1.599
1.388
Final: 3.900

Hope it helps! :) 👍

Ofcourse any one supplying a tune is appreciated. So thanks Bro.

By the way, what time did you achieve?

Will this setup wok on the Opera S2000 LM Racecar as well?

Lol the 2 guys in the top 10 have 20,000 and 11,000 on the clocks!!

Did 1:27.923 in the senna f3 car.. Great fun!

Doesn't the Senna F3 car already lack a lot of power (Some 174BHP) with 550 PP (Approximate). In order to qualify this car, the PP would have to be dropped by either adding balast or reducing the power.

Could you give the specifics of your run & as to how you managed to run this car & still get a decent time?

You're very welcome :)

With Active Steering Strong, I've run a 1:22.110 with it.

Sorry, I don't know how it would work with the S2000 Racecar- I've only used it with the '04 S2000.

All the best!

1:26.911 on the first try with Praiano's tune. Then the next 5-8 attempts or so I couldn't improve on it anymore. Story of my GT life... :banghead:

Anyway happy with the gold and thanks for the tunes guys!

Hmmm, 3125th world ranking for the time being, think that's my highest since I started doing seasonals in february. And now it's even with my handicap setup without pedals and a car and track I don't like. :D
You surprized me in my friendslist, i was 2nd in the friendlist and today i was 5th:confused:
Well done.
Searched that praiano tune, not found on :gtplanet:
Found it at gtworld.
Changed lsd to 8/7/15 and went for it with my DS3 gamepad.
From 1:27.xxx to 1:24.803 after 7 laps, worldrank #623....wow, that Opera s2000 is like a kart now.
Thanks breyzipp for bringing that tune to my attention.👍

\edit...allready lost the #623 place..but hey, normally i'm in the #2000 or #3000.

Yeah I did indeed either reduce the power or add PP, I can't remember which. I think it was reducing power.

The tune I used was @SW__10 's tune from the Madrid senna f3 seasonal last year. I just ran with minimum downforce, and a default gearbox with top speed reduced accordingly.

The cars got so much grip in relation to power, you can take turns 3, 5 and 8 flat out.

Opera S2000 '04 - DS3 Tune

Found this set-up works quite nicely with the pad. Currently on a 1'23.7 but should be good for a bit quicker. (abs1, and bb 5,6)

Suspension
60 60
9.45 11.00
1 10
1 1
3 5
0 0
-0.1 0

Gears
only moved max speed to 137mph (kept getting weird reset bug)

LSD
5, 15, 5

Power: 97.7
install stage 2 engine tune, semi racing exhaust, manifold, catalytic converter

Body
downforce 150
ballast 71@50
Window weight reduction.

Improved rigidity in the tune shop too. Would be good to see how this works for wheel users. Think I could go about 0.5 quicker if I get a perfect lap.

Nice job! But credits should go to @Jbaffoh for mentioning Praiano's tune here. :)

Not going to challenge your time since I don't really like the Opera or the track. But once my knee is better and I can use pedals again I will try to be a bit more competitive in the time trials. Probably those starting from the 1st week of april. ;)

my best race with @praiano63 setup!!!

I didn't like the opera at first, because of the suspension( not tuned yet), and when i braked, it started to go like the Mazda Vision lm55.
Normally i can use just some praiano tunes, not all, but this was/is one of them i can use.(after i changed the LSD)

But it was awesome how you changed your laptime.👍

Thanks for the tune.

Put a modest time of 1:26:754 to put me 3327th rank but in a Honda S2000 LM Race car.

Didn't add the ballast or window weight reduction as was not able to on my car. As I had some PP to spare, added a low range turbo to get some good pick up.

Still could improve as every turn provides oppurtunity to improve as they need to be taken spot on.

Hey John, thanks for posting your tune. I'm low 1:24 but find I can't turn with this one. Well it turns OK but doesn't stop turning. I'm not a tuner so don't know what the trouble (for me) is. Any suggestions mate?

Thanks for the reply GTFireball, I am in the process of joining GTWorld but not completed yet.
I thought there may have been another quicker way of accessing Praiano's tune.
No worries, thanks mate.

Anyway that's it for me tonight. Cheers.

Hey Dalone, I'm by no means an expert tuner, but hopefully I can offer a little help anyway :)

Do you mean it continues to turn once you're on the throttle while exiting? If so, do you have Active Steering on? That seems to be faster here.

And try the Accel LSD on 5 and see how that feels. And/or raise the rear ride height too.

Hope something there helps!

Good luck! 👍

Nurb 24m in S

Put on RS tire

Set to push the pace, asap

Cancel pits

Otherwise, nothing. And it took quite a few full length stand up comedy specials found on YouTube

First initial shakedown run resulted in a 23.0

I have not figured out how to

I heard it is about 3 or 4 days of B-spec Bob to get to 500pp, not willing to burn up a PS3 to find out for myself.

How to what? Super Class race. 24m Nurb event. B Spec

Didn't take me three days. Two maybe. Just kept at it when I could/remembered. Depends how many miles/kms you have already I guess.

Corner grip is high, but the S2000 has that vtec yo that kicks in and it flies ahead.

I put about 1000 miles on my TS030 just by doing the regular seasonal events.

I guess it's still not enough to enter this event.

See post #54.
Thanks again for that GTFireball. My registration with GTWorld came through this morning and I found Praiano's tune for the S2000.
Finished without it last night on 1:24.427 and after a few runs today with Praiano's tune I am down to 1:23.793 for pos #248.
And I have left over 1/2 a sec on the track.

I'm leaving a full second on that track, judging by the ghosts that pull away in the last few turns (yes P63, you're my main target).

I hope to find time to capture that second, because my time is creeping up dangerously close to the top 500 limit--and I need to keep it under.

I used Praiano tunes when I started GT5 a few months before GT6 was released, and I guess I grew up driving in his style--his tunes feel very natural and neutral for me. Even with all the natural improvement I've gained, I still drop at least a second (usually 2) whenever he posts a seasonal quick tune.
