hey Pentaxfun,
Tsukuba is one of my favorites as well. There was this Endurance Race in GT4 i liked a lot. Thats perfect for me to pracitce on.
In deed one of the tracks i know by heard. This "closed eye thing" you talked about. maybe i should learn it new from the scratch, but anyway i feel confortable on that track. so its perfect for me.

By now i just tried it with my own "ghost" but for me its more irritating and annoying if this one pops up from nowhere because i brake a bit earlier or so. although hes a bit transparent it disturbs my sight on the track.
How can I load him just as line on the track as seen in some videos ?

Use up button to make the ghost disappear and when you're done with the corner push up again to make it appear again, I usually do this so that on every straight possible I take quick look where my ghost is (basically hitting up button twice in a row is enough to take a quick peak) and also I'm constantly trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong/right depending if I'm loosing or gaining on my ghost, just being able to find ways to be just a bit faster in some places will drop down your times more easily than trying to shave off 2 seconds at once... Also I really have to mention that I've too started playing with dual shock way back already in GT2 I think but I got wheel already after GT4 was out and I've totally forgot how to use it and as I once tried dual shock during GT6 I BARELY made gold time even though I was probably in top 50 with wheel so simply just knowing the track and how to drive will not transfer to using DS3 so easily... Actually my driving was so hopeless that I had to basically just brake straight in to corner, turn the car pointing out so I can see the exit and smash the X button for I had like zero control over inputs :D heheh, so yeah, good luck mate and don't worry if it feels bit frustrating from time to time, I think that if you want to push your limits the frustration will automatically be part of it and at least for me it feels like getting used to that frustration will eventually make you tolerate it better so you'll have more energy to keep on pushing while on the track... Also I really would say that this car on CS tires is really not the easiest one to drive and for me it has been always more natural way to drive to be as aggressive as I can, more I've played though more I've learned that there's just some cars that will not allow you to be aggressive at all and all the time driving feels like I'm going bit too gently and bit too slow but that really seems to be the only way to be fast on car like this... I mean for example that last TT at Suzuka where I was using BMW Z4 and it had RS tires, it felt like more I push it faster it goes and it really is at least to me bit more natural way to do it... Well being overly aggressive is never good I think, but this car really doesn't allow any aggression at all and it alone makes driving quite counter intuitive for me...

Good luck and gentle thumbs :D

So does it matter which car I use to train Tsukuba?
MR, FR or even 4WD (i feel if i get it with rear-drive car i can make with all others to)
is something about 550PP or 600PP enough , or should it be more or less?

Is there any reference time or expereance i can orientate myself to ?
I know i already saw times less one Minute on this track , but i cant remember wich car it was

I'm noway very fast on the world stage but i have moved up significantly this last year.

There is the car specs that have a little to do with going fast, there is also setting a good tune to fit your skill level and style.

However it is your hand, eye, brain coordination, & muscle training that make the huge difference in going fast. This comes from miles & miles of driving in the game. Human competitors are the best to learn from vs the AI drivers. I found the QM arena most useful to hone defensive skills and to develop pattern recognition skills to see developing danger so as to avoid costly mishaps under pressure. You will get banged, punted, dive bombed, brake checked, and shoved to the curb in the QM's but you will start to see patterns developing where you are getting setup to take a hit. As you improve everything starts to happen at a slower pace, this indicates your brain/muscle process is more automatic (no thinking, a good thing).

Take the time to gold everything in your career (Lunar, Coffee Breaks excepted unless you wish.) Some licenses are difficult for a noob, so get your bronze to move on. Then return to go for the gold when your skills improve. The cars are useful & free.

Above all, enjoy the experience of GT6.

ADDED: When in online lobbies/club events etc., take a picture of the lobby specs and the leader board after each race. (I use an old smartphone) this will be the data you can look over later to see which cars seem to do best at differing PP levels.

Laps, and lots of them, is the only way to keep improving your time. Eventually, that tricky corner you've been struggling on will get aced and you can move on to the next one until you've got a full lap of them. Then the hard work really starts with fine tuning your line through each corner.

I'll be honest, 30 minutes is my maximum. I usually gold straight away but chipping away at my time is a bloody tough discipline I've never mastered. I take the easy way out by guesstimating how much time I've left on the track after 30 minutes and call that my virtual best.

Give me a nice and relaxing first corner stuck in mid pack in quick match any day. A lot less stressful.

I'm with you on this - I can set a reasonable time very quickly, it then takes me a week to get that down by 0.2 of a second, and I'm still 3 or 4 seconds adrift of the top times! I learn much more in the Quick Matches.......

I had a little practice at Tsukuba.
after some trys arround 1.00.1-5 i got me to a 59.997 :gtpflag:
close , but at least a 59 anyway :D

the car was little Elise. I took this to also improve my rear-drive ability.
it still feels a little "loose" or do one say but with a bit tuning i will feel confident and improve my laptime.

that was fun.

For this TT you need smooth inputs. If your having trouble on the CS tires I would fit CM's or CH's and run some laps till your in control. Then switch back to the Comfort Softs and your hyper sensitive reactions should be more than enough to handle a lap. Good luck.

Would you also use another car first ? something more forgiving ?

personally i jump into the redbull or something equally mad take it to Tskuba or any twisty circuit, run until you can get clean laps regardless of tyres, then go back to the tt and every thing seems to be in slow motion and a whole lot easier to drive and your lap will come easily.

Ok heh heh, I have not been able to play in few days for my neck's been hurting like hell since sunday and it's probably because of some flue for I'm also feeling fatigue as hell  hehehe, never the less reading this forum is always fun and this is really interesting to read about all sorts of different approaches how to get better in this game and I thought I might as well share some of my own views to make it even more confusing :D heheh, naah, just want to point out to @Nihamavasa72 that I have always tried to get gold on every possible special event and getting gold on those licenses I have taken almost as mandatory since I played GT3, can't recall did I get them all already in GT3 using the pad, but somehow it has felt that grinding those licenses and other really difficult events has given me tools and confidence to know that I can improve my times quite far if I just set myself up to it... Never the less it can get quite stressful so I always taken care that when I get too frustrated I take some really fun car and bash it around the track like used to do when I got the wheel for the first time, or then I go racing in some QM's or something else where I can just drive using my instincts and basically just have fun... Also taking a break for few days every now and then is not that bad... So my advice would be similar to @SCClockDr that use those events in game to hone your skills, making gold in all those licenses could be a really good goal but just keep in mind that it will probably take you many tries on different days to get them all, I usually did so that I start doing licenses making as good result as I can on the first time and move on to next one, when I'm done with all I go back to once I didn't get gold on and try to improve my times until I get them... While doing this I've usually done some career mode and missions and other bit more relaxing stuff to keep it interesting for banging your head in the wall from day to day will make it feel like work, and I really can't recommend that to anyone even thought I think for me it has taken a LOT of literal WORK to be able to make in to something like top 50 in TT's :D hehehe, so what ever you do keep it fun and interesting and just spend time playing for just like @SCClockDr said it's gonna get easier by experience for pretty soon your fingers start moving almost automatically and the time seems to be slowing down when you get in the "zone" so good luck and keep it fun guys, going to see if I feel like driving tomorrow even though it's going to be just for interest and fun for I highly suspect that I can get no where near my records after just assing around for the whole weekend :D

Finally got Gold in this one. I was really struggling with sections of the track and tried different setups with tweaks here and there. I couldn't better 1.46.7

BOOM!!!

Does anyone know how many more hours it is till the new time trials begin?

I know it says 12/02/15 at 19:00, but, I'm not sure if it is referring to 19:00 in my own time zone, or 19:00 GMT or Japan or what.

Is it like 23.5 hours from now? Or is it sooner than that? anyone know?

Lol, damn, for some reason I got the dates and times all confused in my head, and was all excited earlier today, because I thought the new thing was coming out at 7pm tonight where I live. (I was off by a day).

I timed it so I ate dinner a couple hours ago and had all my distractions put away so I could try to put in an early session.

I didn't really participate at all in either of the TT's this month, since I didn't like them, other than a few laps in a ZZII to get the gold and prize car for Eiffel.

But now that I'm super bored with the thing being 1 day further away than I thought, I guess maybe I could try a short session or two in the NSX prototype just for giggles and shizzles to see how many seconds I can lower my time in the span of 23 hours without knowing this track very well at all. I doubt I can lower it much since I don't even have the trac memorized yet lol, but who knows.

I can not wait and see what our next TTs are.

So, just tried Eiffel out in the NSX for the first time, lol.

I still don't have the track fully memorized yet since I haven't even put an hour into it in my whole life, lol, but just did a 15 minute session and managed to get two laps completed on it. First was a 1:43.5 or something, and then the 2nd a few minutes later was a 1:42.1. So, still gotta drop a couple seconds to beat you guys. Not sure my improvements are gonna come in such big chunks for here tho.

Gonna put in another 10 or 20 minutes I think if my arms hold up, and then probably call it a night if I don't get under 1:41.

Might try again tomorrow if my arms aren't too screwed up, but probably I should just save them for when the new TT's come out, haha.

Down to 1:41.799, but arm nerve is finally starting to act up, so might have to call it quits pretty soon. Looks like your Friends Ranking leaderboard may stay safe from me this time, heh heh :P

Your doing well with TC on 5 try TC 1.

Lol, tried TC 1, by just laughed out loud when I started flying all over the place. Would probably take me a week to get used to that little traction after spending so much time on Tsukuba with TC on 5 and a 4wd car and SH tires, coming down to a MR on TC 1 with CS tires, lol. Seems like an exercise in masochism hahaha.

Anyway, I think I will just leave it as is for now, and see Polyphony cooks up for us tomorrow night! I hope it's something I don't hate! ~rubs hands together anxiously~ :nervous:

The question is "when is 'now' ??"

I'm very excited whats going to come next.
Those seasonals are al lot of fun. and lots of credits as well :D

careermode gets boring from time to time.
except that one race in IB-License (Brands Hatch 550PP i think it was)

anyway, what time will it be in Europe when the next seasonals are released?

I do not know because I live in Australia, but the new Time Trials start in just over 16 hours from now.

something like 3 o'clock in the morning ... what a pitty.
Thought if i were first on a new event i would reach a top 1000 rank ... if only 1000 finished its my chance :D

ok just kidding.

are there always 3 Events in a seasonal Update or can it be less or more ?

We get 3 seasonal A-spec races in a few week time, tomorrow we get 2 Time Trials & 2 Drift events.

2 TTs is nice.

Those drift events are not made for me. Or i'm not made for drifting ... or maybe i don't understand how drifting works ... or i use the wrong cars/setup to try them ...
however i dont get a single Point on those events

I do not do the Drift events either.

ZZII, thought about buying the NSX LM :embarrassed: but i was determined to get it done with the car i started with :D
i tried both you mentioned.
as written above also made it with ZZII and not with the NSX. good Choice for getting at least gold somehow
