Wo Who!! I get to 39.984 and before I can crow about it you have a 39.934!:D Good time!

So you come back and run a 39.693; that is a fantastic time. I'm not sure I can top tha but I will try. It's nice having a small group to compete with in comparison to some of these young guys who run times I can't even imagine.

Got it down to 39.621. I still am not familiar with the last two corners and am braking too much on them, being about 5mph slower than the leaders. That's all for tonight. I am still having fun with this round so will hit it some more tomorrow.

Hi Mark, you should feel young. :) My mind tells me I am young, it is my body that keeps telling me that ain't so.
I still have room on my friends list and don't mind playin' with the kids, if you want to join. :) PSN= grampa1951

Glad to see this many mature players.

At a young 37, it pleases me to see you guys enjoying the game. As well I'll be bragging to my co workers today about some ages that race on GT5

Man ya'll are really making me miss my PS3. Just called the shop and so far so good, that it's problem was just a software issue. Running tests right now will know more tomorrow. Hopefully racing Sat. night. Woo hoo!

Just shy of 60, but I'll send a FR when I get home. Looking forward to downloading GTA tonight and hitting the time trials ASAP. PSN ID is eventhorizon.

My dad qualifies for the 60+ category...and I am pretty sure he plans to download and play GT Academy 2012 (he's played many of the GT games going back to GT2 on the original PlayStation).

Round 2-5 my best so far, 39.351 :D 1148 in the rankings at this time, .604 off the leader. I am losing time in the first right hander as I am not able to maintain a speed of 88mph like the leaders. I am dropping to 84. If I can ever figure this corner out I could do better. I have varied between staying in 4th and dropping to 3rd but get about the same result either way. I have spun out sooooo many times passing the first car. Every time I spin out I cross my arms over my chest like Danika Patrick! :D

P.S. I could not find how to leave the turn signal on so I drove with the wipers on instead.

That is a seriously good time and puts you in the top 0.6% of competitors. Just goes to show that talent doesn't disappear with age.

Congratulations to Choppy he posted a 32.595 sec in Event 2-4 (Eifel Kart S Curves) it is good enough for 3803 currently. Not to bad consider there are several hundred thousand people competiting.

Thank you - personally I think its poor lol..as i'm currently aiming to beat another member on the forum..N6KimiRaikonen..very good driver and very competitive.

Which leads me onto why I've added some of you guys on, although its the 60+ club and i'm only 26, I see that you guys are also very competitive and posting fantastic times, especially grampa1951!! Fantastic driving and keep it up guys 👍

Born in 1956 - Racing as Chainsaw_Jack

I race with mostly older gamers online - 30s, 40s, and 50s. We do a little bit of everything.

Great time Grampa 👍 I can't even come close. :)

Old Age and Treachery will overcome youth and exuberance!:D
Round 2-1 rank #44 grampa1951 53.682 +.012 :D
First downloaded the fastest ghost and followed his lines.
The shift points are so critical in this test that I changed from mph to kph in order to get just a little more accuracy.

Shift at 185 plus or minus, then wring the very last bit of 237 before shifting. Keep soft hands . Sub 53.7 times will come easily.

Update:
53.679.........+.009 :D

Ok guys gramma1941 just did it in 53.717 on her 2nd try ever. Let's get those times down!

Olegonic is here with my 38 years.
I have teens mostly in my friend list. I wish I had more adults. Not so much of them do play....

Not sixty yet, but getting ever closer.I just wish I had more time to practice! The GT games do attract "mature" gamers.Perhaps because of all the different challenges and options, and because of the realism.I never get tired of this game. When I retire ,I know what I will build in my man cave!

2-1 seemed like the test to run while watching NASCAR at Talladega. Well I have gotten all I can from this test and will have to settle for #23 with a time of 53.676 .008 off the lead. The last three improvements came .001 at a time.

Sqeezed another .001 out of it. :D now 18th :D

I have no illusions of being highly placed in the GT Academy but I would enjoy knowing how I do in comparison to racers who are my comtemporaries in regard to age.

If you were born in 1952 or an earlier year, friend me on rreed43 and we can compare times.

I am 73 and have played Gran Turismo since the beginning. My tag is GTP_GDS.

Great times Grampa !! :tup:You're giving us more mature racers inspiration :)

I'm sure it'll be brief, but I am enjoying a sojourn in 1st place on my friends list in round 3-2, and now round 3-3.

Yup. was brief.

Round 4 done. While not anywhere near outstanding, I am, at least, not at the bottom of my friends list. That last turn on 4-5 is giving me fits. Easy turn but I can't get the car to settle in.

You guys are giving old folk a bad rep.

In other words: there aren't compliments worthy enough of your damn awesomeness. WTG.

Very impressed with grampa1951 times over all the rounds so far. It makes it really interesting when you have some similar older folks to compare with. Any other 60+ out there who want to share times? Send friend request to bobby2227.

I think you're on my friends list already. Ain't fast, but nobody has more fun than I do!! :sly:

The gold times are way too easy and the leaders are generally too far out of reach, so the friends list does provide a good challenge.
Some of the tests I have not had a good feeling for the first time around but when I see 3 or 4 names on my friends list that are faster it provides the inspiration to give it a little more attention. A couple of them I have grown to enjoy after the revisit.

1956, got into Gran Turismo with GT1. Like the idea of a Senior League. Nice thread. My psn id is under my avatar for sendind fr request.

Yes, I've noticed that a number of time I have been quickest of my friends, then a week or so later you are quickest!
