My updated first runs, almost finished.

S'alright Myk, as long as you know I'm after a ride in your car :sly:

{Cy}

PS - I'm not officially listed on the front page, so not your fault Sir...

PPS - Nor anyone else's, I didn't ask to be on the front page, yer Honour...
Should I put you in as a tester?
raVer's car will be back up shortly, I was testing it last night and lost internet during the test, didn't get it back till after I went to bed.

EDIT: Sent a PSN FR to GTP_akmuq last night.

Just read your times CSL , your comments are correct I needed a bit more time to get the car right for the road course . I will fix it after the contest.

Half a dozen left to retest then ill submit final results . Warning my times arent among the fastest .

I absolutely love how everyone keeps being so polite about my "Phantom's" handling.:D Still waiting for someone to drop the gloves and tell me the car is 🤬 insane and I had to be totally deranged to call this a tune.:lol:

It's pretty good, I can't remember the gearing off it off-hand, which means it wasn't bad (seriously) I think it was pretty well set overall though. Slight lsd change might be it for me.
My F430 times were 1:28.1 and 48.9 so they're already within .1 combined, yours is more neutral then I would have had the nerve to enter with multiple drivers, which means I like it more in that regard.

mclaren f1 600pp racing medium tires.
The McLaren F1 has 20 front downforce, so wasn't allowed. I didn't try one for obvious reasons, but this was one of the cars I intended to eliminate, even though I love it.

It's fairly driveable, just a bit annoying the way the rear snaps loose so hard.
I would think taking just 2 front downforce and adding rear might have made the difference here, very close to mid 47's on the speedway I think.

Dylans1o, acsr421, brave bear, raVer and madmyk, get me added and/or sort your hosting and I'll put some times up. I've taken everyone elses out for a spin. raVer, your car doesn't seem to be up on share as per the 2nd post. brave bear, you've no room for new FRs...

Ta,
{Cy}

ok i will delete some now. i had no idea i had finally reached the limit on my psn

I ran a final time of 1:30.386. I thought that was pretty good considering you picked a un-competitive car. That is about 4 sec off your time, just curious what kind of times were you hoping for?

I know its slow but "un-competitive"aawww :( just kidding. I was turnind 1:34.xxx I think (camping right now) so anything on or under is good with me (everyone is under so far so this krenkme is happy :D)

@CLSACR 1:29.8 is great. Just wish I could put all that power to the track without the tire spin

Tuner // car : CSLACR // Audi R8 4.2 FSI R-Tronic '07

Test drive result // total points= 89 pts

Max speed on startng line: 294 km/h = 182,7 mph = 9 pts

Low speed corner:
Entry: 9 Middle: 9 Out: 9
Comments: perfectly balanced car

Medium speed corner:
Entry: 8 Middle: 9 Out: 9
Comments :Need more brake to be more incisive at entry.

High speed corner:
Entry: 9 Middle: 9 Out: 9
Comments: Lot of grip ,perfect line.

This car is perfect, but I can’t push it 100 % only for one reason. The brakes. I don’t agree with the 7/1 brake setting and ABS 2, the car brake well in term of distance, braking capacity , but they don’t help to the weight tranfer, to place the car playing with direction (brake and wheel),question of different driving style. To much front brake,to neutral for me. But it’s so fast, in my test the faster car road x oval combination.
I hate the brake setup on this car. But in the short time from when I decided on this and the deadline it was the definite short-term solution for rear-stability I was having at the time. :ouch:

I was looking across your speeds at the line, probly the first 5-7 of them, and realized they're all lower than mine, some significantly, I have to wonder if you're taking the banked curve at full speed in almost all of them? Maybe it's a kph/mph translation, not sure, but given your times on the speedway I have to assume you're finding as I have that on IRC almost every car can take it at full throttle through?

I don't know, i use this to convert http://calculator-converter.com/converter_mph_per_miles-hour_to_km-hour_calculator.php it seems ok . For the last slow turn , the banked curves, the difference if you pass over and use full gas from this point , is only 1 mph at the starting line +-. So , i don't know,..... What is IRC ???
Anyway , i still have to learn the track ,this littles details that make the difference. I don't use driving line, it does'nt help me at all, but i think i'm 95% of my best hotlap with most of the cars. For some few, i've allready reach the best i can.

I would think taking just 2 front downforce and adding rear might have made the difference here, very close to mid 47's on the speedway I think.
Unfortunately the PD braintrust is partially to blame here as for some unfathomable reason they give a higher PP value to rear wing downforce than to front. So just to add one point to rear downforce would have cost me at least 2 points in front and keeping that at 15 or very close to it was very important. The car turned and ran faster by quite a bit at 15 vs 10 on the oval. Less difference obviously on the slower corners of the road course. I almost ran it with minimum rear downforce and nearly max power but the gain in controlability outweighed the couple tenths I might have gained on the oval. Also tried raising the rear aero to 15 and just adding ballast but while it became more controllable and thus easier to get a slightly faster time with on the road course, it cost me almost a full second on the oval so I scrapped that idea.
Think with about 10 more PP to play with I could have raised the rear aero enough to make the car really effective on both tracks. Of course that's the price of tuning a car that's at the maximum PP limit before you get started.
At this PP the VW Nardo probably would have been a better choice as it has very close to the same stats but is actually at 600PP with 15/19 downforce and window weight reduction.

Fun ?? not just fun !!! It's a great car that you have, and a car tuned for oval is really not fun at all on others tracks.
Congratulations.

Well look at it like this, its not your tuning that is holding you back, the car choice was bad. If you would have picked a different and better car, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation lol.

Are these final times or will you be updating later? I entered some times earlier today so just curious.

I'm not an official tester but I can unofficially say your car is bat**** crazy. I tried to get my Cien going well enough to enter but couldn't pull it off. I like your tune much better but still could hardly get around the track in one piece. It is a 'tune' though. To tame the beast as well as you have is quite an accomplishment. For another insane ride, check out Jackthalad's Zonda. Fun!

Sorry ,but i don't consider that "holdding back",if i understand exactly what it means, will take out the quality of a car for 1/2 or 1 second difference. The RX7 and also the mercedes SLS for example ,make me very satisfy when i drive them. Far in front of many others, including my car. This is what count for me... and the effective speed after. Perhaps they are not in the best PP for them, but it's a detail. This experience reveal it at least. I'm shure of this. But i repeat, they are greats cars and greats tunes and both tuners have to be proud of their job.

okay, I didn't realise the McLaren F1 wouldn't have been a legal choice for the contest. To get it down to 600pp, I gave it 97.5% power and around 70kg balast set to the rear. I installed only FC suspension and FC differential as far as I remember.

Apologies friend some how I quoted the wrong person. Not sure what happened....

That original message was intended for krenkme.

I'll update any that improve later, yes, these are all 5-10 laps each track, typically 5/5, so most should improve on another run.

I knew it wouldn't be "competitive" but i thought it could keep up with the big boys and maybe turn some heads. So far it has in my book. 👍:dopey:

Thank you for saying it is a good tune. A faster better car would have a different out come I'm sure, but like I said, I wanted to see what this Luxury Sedan could do with the supercars and Exotics, and I think it's holding its own.

Not the best choice for a shoot out of this level I know, but it was fun trying to get this torque monster to go around this American Icon that is INDY! Next time I'll be more in line on my car choice to see if I can win something. Thanks again for the testing you and everyone is doing. Great job 👍 :D

No problems my friend.

Another big surprise today, i don't know why i've spend so much time for this shootout, looking for a new car and a new tune specialy for Indy oval and road course.........
i've take my R8 4.2 FSI R Tronic '07 with the same settings from the last shootout on laguna, just at 600 pp and the gearbox set to 340 kmh. After 3 laps on road course i was at 1'27"050 and 5 laps on oval 48"485. My best total time of this shootout.
This tune is incredible, really. Only offline but good tune.

This car is on share for who want to give a try.

I will try it later, see if I can get a 1:26.XXX. Also incase anyone missed it I updated my RC times, I hit 1:25.796 in ACSR421's Ford GT. :) That car is crazzy fassst...

Well done on D2. 👍 Should be fun to see you up on the board.

I should be able to start in on testing tomorrow. Took a GT break and finally finished Dragon Age 2 so I'm all refreshed. :D Must likely I will stick to just times but of anyone would like me to elaborate feel free to ask.

Nice, D2 Silver, a pretty good place to start. 👍

My Times - Rd 1 complete.
Updated - fastest first by road course times now, hope that helps.
Very nice...not to be picky but any chance of getting a combined time listing or getting madmyk's time sheet going with sort functions for the tuners?
Yes I'm tired and being lazy had a rough past few days and brain is in meltdown mode currently.:dopey::boggled:

Did you by chance click on "results" once you were on the original "results" page?

I just found it myself, I know madmyk has been doing a lot with it, my ineptitude wasn't helping the overall layout very well, so as long as he's ok with doing it that's good by me.
The average times won't show unless there's equal amounts of times for a car though, so we'll see more when a couple are finished with both tracks, I think me and Praiano are the only ones right now, with mine being posted only a half hour ago.

Did you hit the rev-limiter on the oval with your R8?

raVer
Yes, even in testing before the event, peaky powerband is finicky, chose quicker time down the straights over top speed.
