Just wanted to say thanks to kalmiya117 for your tune. It was becoming my favorite car to drive on ds3 and it is the ONLY tune that stayed consistent on my g27 that I just received today. All my other cars went to he'll and back on handling but this one is easy to drive no matter what the input. Thank you for taking the time to tune much appreciated. :)

No problem. I have shared my first tunes many times to get feedback. Over time with this thread and several other avid Camaro RM users I have mergerd many tunes into one to my liking. I am able to run very easy 1:10:xx runs if I actually manage to run clean laps. I do like the stability of the tuen orignally, as many people that I shared it with did have common likes and dislikes.

I have also appllied a little bit of a softer tune to my Challenger as well and I have yet to see much out of it but it need more testing.

So, I give credit to many people, as their help and eagerness to share have helped me alot.

Just ran 1:09.594***

When i run your setup i manage 1:12:* with my dfgt :-P
I'm not familiar enough with track i guess, what are your lines, and what are the essential parts in the track.
Could you upload a ghost file, i would love to learn from it.

I'll try and get my tune up tonight, I really haven't messed with it much since a few days ago, best I ended up with was 1:11.2" but that was DS3, AT shifting; so maybe you have better go with my tune than I did.

Thanks to all that have posted here and many thanks to the OP! I cleared the Historic Race phase without spending the Megabucks! Woohoo! While I only managed 1:14's, it was enough to get the job done. Thanks again all!!!

Yeah, it just had a real vintage feel. To contribute to the thread, honestly this was me second try at the Camaro. What I didn't realize is that for some reason some of the upgrades got "turned off" when I did the race prep in GT AUTO so I ended up way down on horsepower which no amount of oil changes would fix. I did the second car and the same thing happened so I went searching. I now have a 550hp rocket! :)

I had the same issues :D
Ended up spending money on parts I already had, and it still didn't help...
Turned out everything was just not enabled on the car...

Thanks to the tunes in this thread I also was able to win the Historic car cup.
Luckily the damn 2J racecar got stuck in traffic on the monaco course and finished last :D

b.t.w. I made mine matt orange.
I'll upload a pic later.

Thanks for the set up info, just need to dial a bit of understeer out to suit my style and it will be spot on.

quick question, did you get to pick the colour when you did the RM?

I got a good series of pics coming... wheelie off Rolex hill at Laguna Seca, stood the car up on back tires and drove it that way clear into the tire bundles.

Nope, it changed the color to white when the RM was done...painted it right after that.

In total I believe the Camaro and the Race Modification will come in around 300,000 or so. That is including getting all of the other upgrades (engine and tires)

Before I bought this crazy expensive car, I would just say send the Camaro to me, and I would do the RM for you and set the suspension.

Add me if you ever wanna race or have some tips.

For what it is worth, I used my 70 Challenger R/t RM to win the historical cup the first time. And actually here is a picture of it!

What's your setup like for the challenger? Was looking for a good tune for it.

I apologize for for no responses from me. I recently moved to diffterent state and yet to get internet hooked up. Once able I will start being able to be more active in my thread again.

I am finally back online. We got our internet today. I've been wanting to post my newest addition, another 69' RM! When I saw the other green one posted earlier I wanted to post mien but cannot from my phone.

I am hoping I can have my grey one as my sure fire car that does well and the green one as the test bed.

And on a complete other note, I traded the other night one of my Two Prowlers for this lil red car

Thank God! This page was great...

Been beating my head against the wall with the classic series for ages, my Cobra was a nightmare to work with. Took your 2nd set up and bumped up the rear springs a bit, and took the rear downforce down a notch from where I had it and 2nd try I took care of the Deep Forest track. Only able to run a 1:13.4xx as I've only lapped this car about 12 times now, and I despise this track, but I'm pretty happy with that!

Thanks again.

Man I'm there with ya. This car doesn't look like it can run the lap times that it does, but and the ring it is an absolute animal. I've taken down MUCH fast cars........ The handling is second to none.

I love this car. One of the hidden gems, by far.

Last night I was in a room with alot of people running higher HP cars, and with driving aids on (skid force, ASM and active steering, TCS.

I managed to still beat them, and they did not believe me when I said I was only using ABS 1 and that I was using a controller. One guy had said he had taken down many Camaro RMs with his mustangs before. (he was one of the ones using aids)

I do not understand why people use the aids for so long? I tried using them and the car just felt all wrong. It felt rubbery and unrealistic. I learned long time ago TCS helps in the beginning but really kills your lap times in the end.

I do believe regardless of what stipulations on HP/Tires, We must all agree, all driving aids must be turned off via regulations.

I agree 100%

While Racing tonight, I managed a 1:10:649. I could not get a screen shot but I believe after the patch the car seems to handle better. I also seem to run my fastest lap times in my Lounge or online. And always seems 1-3 laps in I get it. I do much better with pressure aka people racing against me it seems also. I will try however to duplicate this time in my Practice mode so I can screen Shot it.

I have been running the basic same setup the past several weeks with much success. I have managed lower time on Deep Forest. I believe the patch was in part responsible. I amd still finding that very mino / micro changes do not do much (the .X adjustments).

whats your downforce kalmiya? i cant seem to get beter than 1:15, im on a DS3, maybe im just a bad driver, if its possible could u post a replay?

Down force is normally maxed out.

I revisited my older tune, mostly the spring rate. I notice just a tiny bit of understeer, but the biggest item was the cars tendency to step out of you hit the rumble strips while accelerating out of a corner. ( last turn @ Deep Forest)

I am kinda disappointing in the overall lack of major change in the car, but then again I left everything the same as my recent tunes have lead too. I recorded a 1:10:4XX one time still using the controller with only abs-1. I have not been able to reproduce this offline however.

I completely believe that the tire wear, does shows a proper tune. How fast the tires wears, how the car changes as it wears down show alot. I have also noticed the car grips alot more when the tires are warmed up and worn just a bit. (Vs the quick to get cold and never wear offline deal) Which is why I have issues producing better number in offline Vs online.

While online, I ran the fastest Lap time at Deep Forest in the Camaro RM to date. Once again only ABS being used with racing softs. This was a ONLINE time to as well.

There was only one section I felt I could have gone faster on exit, and I could achieve a 1:09:XXX time. But I will be content with this time with the current setup!

You couldn't even wait till morning to post it! Now that's lap time dedication! :dopey:
