I just opened up this thread and gave it go. After about 45 minutes I posted a 1:10.954 with this setup:

Downforce:
F: 20 R: 43

Transmission:
4.415 - 3.170 - 2.139 - 1.646 - 1.325
Final: 2.500 Top Speed: 112

LSD: 10/50/15

Suspension:
Ride Height: F: +12 R: +12
Springs: F: 6.6 R: 8.2
Ext.: F: 4 R: 5
Com.: F: 3 R: 3
Anti Roll: F: 2 R: 4

Camber: F: 2.4 R: 1.2
Toe: F: -10 R: 0.0

I'm going to check out some of the setups already posted and see if I can get any gains. Hopefully this will gain some people some time.

Drive, I'm certainly not trying to rip apart your findings, but I'm suprized to see you posting that time with ur ride hight so high. Also by racing setup standards, your springs are backwards, the car shouldn't have any balance like that. The rest of it looks very close to what I've come up with after hours of tuning. I'll certainly try ur setup let u know the results. Thanks for sharing.

Ya I'm no tuner. The springs I played with but that's the general setting: soft and stiffer in the rear. With ride height I was expecting to hear something but sometimes I think it's better to use positive rather then negative, not that I could give you any reasonable explanation of when that's the case, most people fall into the trap of auto lowering. I figure 1969 and American with my soft setup why not try it a bit higher.

I love the Camaros in this game. Both the RM and non-RM Z28 are solid performers. I spent some time running around Deep Forest and came away with a best of 1:09.882. That was pretty much a perfect lap, but with my setup I can turn 1:10xxx consistently. A little pushy but rock solid rear end. I'm on a DS3 with ABS 1, all other aids off.

I've been following this thread for almost a month now, before that, I had never raced any track online besides Daytona Speedway. This thread got me started and addicted to the whole tuning/racing online aspect of the game. After my first couple days of trying these various tunes and timing Deep Forest runs, I was at 1:18.xxx. Not impressive. Since then I've been making my own adjustments, finding certain parts of these Z28 tunes that that I liked or disliked, and running ALOT of Forest laps. I've come up with my own tune and now I'm at 1:13.0xx. (I realize my driving technique still need a bit of work) but I'd like to post my own tune, just to get some more experienced driver's feedback on it. Here's what I've got:
Hight: -12/-12
Spring 7.8/6.2
Ext. 4/5
Comp. 3/3
Roll. 2/3
Cam. 2.6/1.8
Toe. -0.10/0.00
LSD is at 24/21/18, I know that's not the best launch setting but it keeps me from spinning around. Constructive criticism is welcome, and thanks to all who have shared their setups for this amazingly fun car!

I'm a little bit "under the weather" at this particular time, but I will be happy to drive this tune when I sober up! I'd also like to share my primitive attempts at tuning if you want. :)

I saw a few lap times posted while I was out of town, so I was excited to have a challenge waiting for me when I got back. I've only used my 69 Z28 once, for some A-Spec series, so it needed the attention.

With the stock springs & shocks, I got down to 1:08.6xx
I assume with fine tuning, I could get down to .1 or .2.
I tried LDP and itsthedre4m's tunes, but haven't gotten around to anyone else's yet; unfortunately neither of these resulted in a faster lap time, although using pieces of LDP's did.
*Laps were all run offline, in practice mode, DFGT & AT.

Care to post a picture?

I really should have a room open one day and have all you guys replicate these lap times and have a race. I think it would be fun.

It took me forever with DS3 to get a 1:10.9xx but I finally managed it. Thing is, I absolutely hate the tune I did it with to the point that I'm embarrassed to even post it at this point. It handles like complete rubbish but it got the best lap for me so far anyways :indiff:

One should post the bad with the good!

Keep in mind, that it's far easier to post fast laps in practice mode, than in an online lobby; Even moreso if tire wear is on. I'd only expect to run high 9's, low 10's online, but I can't say for sure.

I run the faster laps in Online mode. I believe besides rolling over and wheelies the general physics engine is the same offline and online. I have always set a fast lap time in online mode, with tire wear on after my 2nd to 3rd lap, once the tires got some wear and heated up properly.

The biggest deal with have a night where are these fast guys go on the track. Is that we can all watch each other and put down some fast laps. And def know each other are not using aids.

@Kal

if you raise your IT to 30 you'll get in the low 10's. I have the same car at the same HP level and I'm in the low 9's with setup. Once I get home from Summit point I'll share it here with you all.

Are these time done with a DS3 or a wheel, and do you have any ads on?

Driving Line & ABS @ 1 as well.

I never got around to actually trying many tunes. I think if there's a good enough tune, I might break the 7's, but who knows.

I am thinking some time on the weekend perhaps, We need a Camaro RM Night. Willing to host in my lounge and we all can see each other put down some fast laps!

Say, Next Saturday around 7-9 EST?

I won't be able to make it unfortunately.
On the bright side though, 1 friend is graduating from Sac State in the afternoon, then immediately after that we head to my other friends for his Bachelor party, all combined with my Birthday weekend... Should be good times all around :P

Hope the event goes well, I might put some seat time in a few of these Camaro tunes tonight, but I'm slightly turned away by the multitude of tunes for this car... SOOOO many :(

FYI, I have added my most recent tune to the first page, while keeping the original tune in place.

I am also going to be posting on the first page A tune for a "street" Z/28 550pp Limit car as well.

Overall this seems like the best non-RM '69 Z/28 tune I've tried, but it still seems to understeer a lot. It puts in great lap times but it feels like it just does not want to turn. Does anybody have a solution to this? Maybe it's just me, but the Z/28 seems to plow in corners even compared to other muscle cars.

My tune turn enough to race easyly with USrace cars on extreme Aspec, using sport soft tyres. So if you put racing soft, i think you'll be OK with it.
