7/4/12 - A-Spec: Expert Level Ferrari Formula Challenge

This challenge was actually really easy. Beat the whole thing without a tune and w quickly made 20m

The trick I saw was wait till the last feasible moment to break and lift off the gas (bad idea in f1 cars usually) but you fly right by the competition. This is especially good on the first hairpin on R246 reverse

I agree. I ran them all first time at 820pp. I did have trouble on R246, but I got all the others with little trouble and was able to drop the pp.

Yes. I'm currently down to 785pp and am starting to have trouble

I stopped going down at 780pp. Any lower it takes too much focus and too much stress and swearing to make it worthwhile

I agree. The lowest I've gone is 770 at Indy, and I got 1st place by 0.03 seconds 8)

Did Nurburgring24H 1st At 800PP
(PDA =2.189 mill) total= 3.095 Million Cr

Last lap was 6:55
Aero
Full front /Rear 180
Ballast 135kg 0 possition
69.5% engine power 501Hp
Trans Top speed 193
6th gear 1.470
7th gear 1.238
LSD 10/12/5
Suspension
16.8/17.0 springs
6/7Ext
6/7comp
6/5 Roll bar

Camber 4.0 front and back
toe -15/.50 Do you mean -0.15? that's what I used; just checking
Set your ABS on and go 10/10 brake force and you'll really! have the advantage under braking :D
The setup is abit understeer'y to compensate for low rear downforce
Good Luck
EDIT
Haha almost forgot
F2007 BTW [/B]
EDIT
Also minor changes for the other events
Springs 17.6/17.4 added power and took weight off also took the rear downforce to 175 for Tokyo

Celebrating my first Ferrari F7 win at Rome by 0.747sec.
I've only bought the car about 2hrs ago, Tokyo is a b:censored:h
I used this tune with changes noted below:

downforce@ max/ max
ballast: 100@ -20
power level: 85.3%
camber 2.5/2.5 (from Hyped's tune)
trans: top speed at 193 (for Rome) stay in 5th gear at the first set of corners, not 4th

Hey guys I finally did a new video that shows how the "helmet" view looks when you tweak the Multi-Monitor Options, the Angle of View is at 90%. The difference on youtube isn't huge, but on my tv it's really significant. Also, finally got a race where the AI crashes at Galgenkopf right in front of me (they touch the grass there every time, but occasionally they don't catch it). My driving is pretty sloppy in places but at 744pp with a low aero setup I was testing (92/114), surprisingly I managed to stay in it...

Go to 6:03 to see the AI crash. I also went offboard at 11:36 to show some no ABS effects.

I have won on Eifel Circuit at 755pp in the F10 after a quick go this evening, may try lower tommorow as it was a comfortable win with 755pp

This was a great video. Nice job on the win :)👍

(AI crash was nice too, I always find myself crashing there) :dopey:

This is the best I could do(7th)
Please, pardon my frustration and the dirty driving on the first turn and at 12:16

Good drive 👍
If you work on cleaning up that second lap you could have a podium at least :sly:

With a 10/10 brake bias and ABS 0 would I be better off? I seem to overspeed into the corners alot on Nurburgring 24hr.

10/10 is good, but you need abs to drive these.

I suspect not. 10/10 may be too sensitive for modulation and abs off is more challenging. If you are winning it with ease, you may turn off abs to get some variety.
It looks like you are doing a lot better in the early segment then drive rather conservatively in the nordsleiffe part resulting in stagnation in same position. Without the spin out, you would probably be in 4th or 5th. Took me 5 restarts as well. I find changing the front downforce helps. Need quicker turn? Up the front downforce. Need more stability? Decrease front downforce.

You don't NEED abs, but it does help in some cases. If you "needed" it, real formula one cars would have it.

Let me rephrase it. In GT5, in order to run fast laps in a f1 car, ABS makes it much more possible to achieve victory.

If you turn off ABS you'll find 10/10 a bit shocking ... I do all my Ferrari F1 races with ABS off but the brakes are set more like 3/1. But ABS off isn't easier, for sure :) Overspeed into corners is a good thing to work on - fast corner exits are the main thing you want to go for.

And as you noticed, there's a big gap between the AI cars in 6th and 7th/8th (depending on where you are) so getting stuck in 7th is one of the challenges of this round (especially if you eventually start lowering your pp to the point that top speed is lower than the AI).

Sorry for being nit-picky :P

You do have a very good point.

Good drive, I was rooting for ya. Btw your move at 12:16 wasn't that dirty - grass would be but the paving stones on the inside of Karussell are fair game if the dim AI force you to take evasive action ;)...

Tried this again today:

740PP only 150% bonus though
IMG_2010.jpg

That would have been just over 6million creds on a 200% bonus...

I wish... I've won the 'Ring with 737pp and the reward is only 4,818,086 with the 200%. The online bonus is separate from the performance difference bonus.

Here are the Nurburgring win rewards with the 200%:

745pp 4,584,493
744pp 4,613,692
743pp 4,642,891
742pp 4,672,090
740pp 4,730,488
737pp 4,818,086

Wanted to test a little more, even if i had a good lead until the long straight i think i will stop here, its difficult to get a clean run and use the AI drafting at the right place at the right moment. :)

738PP
bonus 150%= 4,562,537cr

yeah the bonus dont make a huge difference. :)

So true - at that pp you actually don't want to overtake in some places because the draft is too valuable. But the AI still slow way down if you get too close so that's tricky, geez even if you brake aggressively they slow down. "OMG I have 200kg more, 250hp less, and less aero, will you please just drive!!" LOL

lol yeah hehe, its definalty tricky to keep just enought gap so he dont hit the brakes but then accelerate quick enought to be able to use his draft...

It can get frustrating
