7th GTP F1 World Championship (F1 2010 edition) * SEASON FINISHED :'''( *F1 2010-2016

Came across a possible major problem for me for the rest of the series. I was practicing when all of a sudden, I noticed that I wasn't going full speed down the straight. It was as if the throttle wasn't fully compressed even though it was. This seemed to happen intermittently so I put in GT5 to test it out since it has a throttle gauge (why on earth F1 2010 doesn't have one I don't know) and it seemed to be working fine. Hopefully it was just a one off glitch :scared::scared:

Well at least if it does persist then I can make a racing overtake

Wish I was, but again that time zone thing is messing me up. You guys are killing me with all this practice you're getting in! Enjoy 👍

Haha well what time are you free and we'll arrange something:tup:

Quick question, when you guys practice on grand prix mode with no assists and full race fuel tyre wear etc, what set-ups do you guys use, if you use quick set-ups at all?

I go for the fastest option on the slider and then bump the gear ratios up a couple of notches 👍

I'm doing 50% Catalunya with Qualifying with a mate tomorrow at 07:30 Mtn/14:30 UK. Care to join us?

It won't be quite as friendly as our last get together :) As in, we typically don't wait for each other to catch up, if/when a mistake is made.

Anyone else is more than welcome to join us for a friendly, just let me know.

Depends on the track, but I try to use the one with as much top speed as I can handle on the track. Catalunya I'm using the second from top because of the ride height, my driving style and kerbs :)

At Monaco it's going to be completely different, much more down force and less top speed.

But then again, I'm mostly looking at the back of the other cars

Yea same here, to me it differs quite a bit online though, like in our last race I think I ended up using a wet setting just for the grip. I can't wait for Monaco, love that track, hopefully I'll have a steering wheel by then so I can actually drive lol

Hi is it to late to join the championship?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. We don't have any free race slots at the moment but I could put you down as a reserve driver if you'd like?

I use Grand Prix mode for practice and of course I use no assists and fuel and tyre sim (why do it differently when it'll be that way in the race?) and the car I use is the Red Bull as I find it to be closest in handling to the online cars. However, it's weird, during qualifying online the cars are a solid 0.75 secs faster at least than they are in Grand Prix mode but during the race they're pretty much the same in my experience.

Yea same here I use the Red Bull with assists off just wondering really if the cars perform as they do in the offline set-ups as they do online

Generally, offline is close enough to practice with setups. Its a lot closer than offline in F1:CE was anyway.

I prefer practicing where I can online though because you can't simply restart when you screw up and you practice more under pressure from real opponents. My issue (especially with Catalunya!) is trying to nail the laps consistently when I need to. Its much easier to do it against the AI because you know what they will manage, whereas sometimes you don't know how much you really have to find in the lap to beat people online. Its easy to overdrive.

Hey guys just done a qualifying session with Ken and I set a 1:22.071 3.211 secs ahead of Ken, good pace?

One 1:22.0 is pretty good. That around my fastest quali lap anyway. 1:28 would OK race pace for the beginning of the race but I think you would find yourself pretty far down the field if that is during qualifying.
