*puts on flame suit*

Quick, someone suggest to them that taking out the Mulsanne chicanes would improve fuel efficiency (while they're still on the drugs).

These new regs are great news. 👍

All racing series should have similiar rules on engines. Why restrict them at all?

To me this only highlights F1 decent into a spec racing series.

Now that's nearly regulation free! Time to see major manufacturers come back and race in the top of the class, which is LMP1. 👍 :)

It would be nice to see it open up. Especially seeing Nissan playing around in P2, this could motivate them into going P1. However, I don't expect certain manufactures any time soon who were big in the past.

I wouldn't expect F1 going that route, you have the issue of manufactures wanting to use more "green" engine methods. Yet the old timers like Ferrari, would obviously go in the other direction. That is where the issue lies, as well as the small teams that are barely going north of their once shoe string budgets. Also the aero rules would need to change as well. There may not be tons of money in engine devs being spent like the 80s and 90s but there is tons in new aero solutions all the time.

Got to give to have, and that is the issue with F1. Though they're having a great season as far as unpredictable winners (though I'd argue the tops teams just don't have their act together i.e McLaren) go, this may be one that goes down as a spec or GP2 esque. I see a new Golden Era II of Le Mans soon, just like the late 80s and early 90s seemed to over take F1 in some respects.

Does anyone know of a website which will be streaming the race?
Crappy, miscellaneous streams will popup once the race starts. But there is this:

http://tensport.com.au/lemans-live-streaming.htm

Probably geoblocked (Australia), but if it works the same way as Tensport's F1 streams, then it is easily bypassable with Chrome and this extension:

1. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...pbenpmdnkifigc

2. put the settings like this:

3. test with some F1 video: http://tensport.com.au/video.htm?movideo_p=47157

4. hope that it works the same way for the Le Mans stream

:sly:

If you live in the Netherlands. RTL 7 will broadcast it live around the clock on TV.

Hopefully the F.I.A won't 🤬 it up like they did it back then when they felt the almighty WSC was overshadowing the F1. The more independent the A.C.O is, the better specially taking in account the way in which the F.I.A acts as of lately.

At least the new specs they just adopted would seem to be a step (or a few) in the right direction 👍

I have no doubt in Audi winning, because of no more peugeot and Toyota being back for the first time in years. I am just interested to see if the hybrids will beat the normal r18s. However, the Toyotas will have a solid chance next year once they get more experience under their belts.

The Pescarolo will be driven by two drivers only,

Apparently Bouillon is not fit for the race. Harder job for Stuart Hall and Emmanuel Collard.
Like if Pescarolo didn't have enough bad luck already. :nervous:

Does anybody have any clue on the regulations for drivers in GTE AM this year? I remember that after last year's race many of the drivers and reporters wanted to have harder restrictions on who could drive in GTE AM because there was too many drivers with too little experience causing too many problems

And I assume that Julien Jousse isn't in the mood to help now, huh? :indiff: Tough luck for Pescarolo. Hopefully the Dome achieves a great result that'll allow them to compete next year with an 03 Evo.

Somebody poke Henri, himself, to step in!

Not sure if they've changed it but at least this year there's plenty of experience in GT AM. Funny to see drivers like Pedro Lamy in the "amateur class". :)

Shame for Pescarolo though. I hope they still manage a good finish with the experience they have.
