Half the power, half the weight, half the drag, half the fuel consumption. Makes a lot of sense to have a car like that, even if it's only being used for experimental reasons.
But you are still RACING. Even if you are not in LMP1 class what Nissan proved with this Delta thing? The only thing they proved is they can run 14 second slower than top LMP1. What an achievement.

Worldwide marketing for running 14 seconds slower. Hmm.

We're still working on it. If we can get it back, we're confident we can fix it. @SatoshiMotoyama doing great job. #nissandeltawing #24LM

come on deltawing! just to get back in the race would be amazing.. and to finish before the toyotas..

German commentators just mentioned that the Audi's lights are so damn bright that people can barely make out where the R18 is exactly :odd: The hell did they use for headlamps? Sauron's eye?

Hmm, some drivers are actually very fond of them because they can see it's an Audi as opposed to just an lmp

Has anyone actually been following the Delta Wing, because Motoyama has taken a bunch of tools from the car and is still trying to fix it by himself! Not over yet for the Delta Wing, if he can get it going. RLM say the drivers have been trained how to fix it by themselves. Hope Motoyama can get it going

Nice to hear that even racing drivers hate the Audi LED headlights when they are right behind you on the motorway at night. (I've had the same problem with Audi's on the motorway practically blinding me in the mirrors - I'm not a fan of their super-high beam headlights).

They're eyeing them up, giving them a dirty stare for hitting them.

 I was thinking the same thing. "Look at these guys! Not a care in the world!"

It's not even competing with LMP1s so why do you keep mentioning them? It's just trying to finish the race that's all.

Running 14 seconds slower while consuming half the fule and with half the power, without the downforce and less tyre wear? They've already proven a crapload of stuff, if you're asking me.

I hope so too. It would be nice to see it finish the race

It has got everyone talking about it, and one of the main spotlights of the whole grid.... nuff said, great marketing.

That'll make a superb Oscar winning movie if he does it just by himself.

Does have the downforce, just with ground effects instead of wings.

I'm so used to seeing this track in GT5.
Those forza banners jump out every time I see them - looks so out of place
Distracting, really.

Forza has a license with LeMans I believe, it's why mostly all these cars in the real race are in Forza, and not GT.

I'm watching the ZR1 race car, while driving it.
Amazing car

Alexander Wurtz was getting inside the #7 Toyota in the pits, dunno if that means anything.

They finally realize that Nakajima should not have gotten into that car in the first place, thank jesus.

EDIT: wait #7 car? they repaired it?

The Delta Wing has been limited by the A.C.O precisely so it couldn't get anywhere near the LMP1 cars, hence why it was on pace with the LMP2 cars. An experimental car wasn't allowed to have a sniff of victory.

They were trying to prove their radical concept. They didn't beat the best guys in le mans on their first try. You're making it sound like they should've just stayed at home, not even try.

Actually the projects maker has said "We could turn the turbo boost up and get it closer to the lmp1s but, what would that prove?"
