Before I went to bed last night the Corvette's looked so strong. What happened to them?

Pit issue, then one had to have a door replaced due to faulty lights. Then the hood had to be taped down. A couple of spins happened. The 74 has had two issues with the alternator belt coming off, and then it was figured out the second time it happened that an oil leak was causing it to slip off. They had to change their brakes before their competitors and so on...they're still very fast but just a couple laps down for the 73. The 74 has had more problems and thus further down.

The Europsport team was saying not long ago that Nissan was returning (or possibly returning) in 2015 and Dario Franchitti was in talks with Porsche over a seat in a 3rd 919 Hybrid next year.

Looks like Webber has managed to up his pace slightly to the 28s but it's still not as fast as the Audis.

Somebody must be smoking. Dario is retired due to his injuries so there would be no point in him asking for a seat, unless they mean Marino Franchitti.

As for Nissan, that's long been confirmed as they themselves announced.

The key word is "was". Dario was saying that, before his accident, he was in talks with Porsche for 2015. :)

I think the Nissan LMP1 is close to reality. A third 919 would be cool, I hope Toyota does the same next year!

The broadcast team was replying to an email about Porsche and Toyota running 3 cars and that is how they got on to the subject. Seems logical to run 2 cars in your first year or so and then go to 3 cars once you have gotten experience.

Just putting it out there, does anyone think that #8 Toyota can get back on the lead lap? There's 6 hours to go & it seems to me to be a very distinct outside chance still for the win. Most people seem to be only talking about the chances Porsche may have, & to me, Porsche just doesn't have the pace.

Such a shame that Dario was forced into retirement due to his injuries. Would have been cool to see him in a 919 next year.

6 hours is far too short to gain 8 laps back. Something major would have to befall basically every car in front just for them to even have a shot.

I personally think the Porsche's will have a better chance.

I didn't know what the broadcast team meant when they talked about it. I don't know if they said the talks was before the accident. I just recall them saying he had to retire on medical grounds and them mentioning he had been talking to Porsche. And because I don't know they said it was before the accident I took it to mean there was nothing stopping him, medically, from taking part in Le Mans since he won't be in the car all the time. There will be times he will be out.
