This is the 1:8 scale model of Audi's 2017 design, the car they would've raced if the project wasn't cut.

Conflicting feelings detected.

Not sure if its extremely ugly or extremely cool. :odd:

Audi's designs were always trend setters for sure. I think there is a lot of smart stuff going on there. The way you got the vertical edges behind the front fenders is really smart. Vertical plans add downforce without contributing drag to slow down the straight line speed, so that I find cool. And then the way Audi intigrated their mirrors is genius, idk why nobody else thinks to do that.

Strange since it is reported that Audi was willing to do a customer deal, makes me think VW just didn't want to deal
It might be that they decided too late, that's what happened with VW and WRC, they said no until after the homologation deadline even though Nasser Al-Attiyah was banging on their door with a huge sack of money from Qatar.

Yeah but there was still time it was suggested in most of the deals, and it seemed like VW just didn't want to be seen doing racing really. I guess it makes sense for Porsche cause they make fast cars to begin with. Plus the public in general usually doesn't think VW = Porsche
Battle for 2nd hotting up once more in GTE-Pro. Priaulx in the #67 with the #64 Corvette of Fassler up his chuff.

That's why you pick up an ex-audi lmp1 driver

The reason I loved Audi was how much they translated their stuff to the street and you could especially tell they were so passionate about it. They were always willing to share and show what they were doing while pushing the envelope, in a way that Peugeot, Porsche, and Toyota haven't been. The first year I really paid attention to and watched Le Mans was 2011, and I planned on being a Peugeot fan cus I usually don't like hopping on the favorite bandwagon. But Audi's program was just so infectious, I really caught the bug. Totally having withdrawals lol.

As someone who's not been able to follow so far, what are the headlines so far?
#2 Porsche was in the garage for a long time to fix some issue with the driveshafts. Right now there was an accident between the #28 LMP2 and the #82 Risi Ferrari. LMP2 turned across into the Ferrari, causing this slow zone, to fix the barrier.

Porsche #2 lost front axle drive from the electric motor had to do major repairs.
Aston #95 had a tire go down and damaged the rear diffuser, so they had to pit twice. Once for the down tire and again for the diffuser
G-drive cars in LMP2 had problems early on and were out.

It might be safe to say Audi's program was probably more expensive to run than the Porsche program too, just the way Audi was doing things. The fact that Porsche was the newer program with all the advertising done to hype their return was probably a factor too.

I bet you that sometime between 2020 and 2023 you see Audi swapped for Porsche. Just before everything went down with the sanctions, VW named Audi as it's brand that is to develop it's hydrogen technologies. You don't need hydrogen technology to sell more Porsche's, but you do need hydrogen to sell more Audi's. Plus they had just finished building Audi its own Porsche-like private test track at the Ingolstadt facility, and ya can't let that kind of resource only get used for GT3 and Formula E cars :sly:

Funny that Eurosport puts on a commercial about a Le Mans video on Amazon Prime between the actual live race...

Sunset is the coolest time to watch the cars in my opinion. Official sunset is at 10:01 local time, just over 50 minutes from now.
