EDIT: Also, doh the #67 Ford GT lost a couple of positions and the #91 Porsche seems to be close to that Vette's bumper.

I think it started for Ferrari's in general, but people quickly saw that it would be impossible to survive, so they just went for the Ferrari that goes off the most.
