The Ford sounds dreadful imo but to each their own!

Yea exactly, each to their own, the Ford seems to more divisive, but I love deeper, more guttural sounding V6's, like the GT LM, or Mitsubushi 3000GT/GTO for another example.

It's like that for me with the 488 GTE, I think that sounds really quite dull and cack, but different strokes for different folks I guess .

You're not wrong, it does sounds fantastic doesn't it .

Mind you, I'm in love with the deeper, guttural growl of the Ford GT LM's 3.5 TT V6

And on-board, gives an even better sense of that growl IMO.

I like how the Ford gets passed by the Toyota effortlessly. "See ya" then just scaddadles on out of there. The Ford GT though sounds nice.

My opinion of four GT cars (GTE PRO) (soundwise)

Corvette: Big growl. Big fast. Might win. Sounds amazing.
Porsche: Flat 6 with quite a bit of growl to it. Best sounding car of the lot. Want this car to win.
Ferrari: Sounds a bit too much like the 458, but still sounds pretty damn good
Ford: The ultimate fart-rocket. A fast one though...

You forgot the glorious roaring thunder of the Aston Martin. HOW COULD YOU FORGET ASTON MARTIN?!

It would be really cool to see Porsche win GTLM. I'll be honest...my dislike for Ganassi and the cheese he tried to pull last year at LeMans, I want any GTLM car to win besides a Ford (despite liking the drivers in most of those cars).

You mean the Fraud GT powered by BOPBoost? (shamelessly taken from iRacing comments)

Actually I can cope with the BOP game, but I mean just the way Ganassi tried to get the one competitive Ferrari pulled because of some door-card lights that weren't working properly (basically trying to remove the main competition after they'd battled for 24 hours). I'd love to see Ferrari beat the pants off Ford this year.

The new 911 RSR sounds fantastic. I know who I'm cheering for in GTE Pro now 👍

After seeing IMSA at Lime Rock last year, that is my memory of what the previous Porsche GTEs sounded like. Or at least the ones that raced in the States. Trust me when I say it's even better in person. :D

Same guy also posted a video of the cars at Tertre Rouge. The speed...

(1:45 is particularly hair raising)

Looks like I'll be the/one of lone rangers supporting Ford then .

Either way, will be interesting to see if the ACO have got the BoP right (wishful I know), so that GTE Pro at least, will be closely fought. As whilst it was great to see Ford being quick last year with Ferrari, it'd be great if the BoP was for once, correct, but this is the ACO we're talking about.

Rumors around the internet from witnesses at the test day that Kobayashi lifted on his flying laps. Some say that's because of fuel flow, but no way he has to lift that much that GTE's can pull on him. I think Toyota only showed a glimpse of what they can do. Don't forget they set a new lap record at Spa with a 1:53.6 in the same LM package. That was easily faster than the record setting 2015 Porsche 919... interesting!

Well Kobayashi himself said the 3:18:1 he did was not that great...

Just listen to the RLM stream. Or watch the inevitable DRIVETRIBE stream going by how they are streaming the N24, Formula D...

I paid the ransom for the WEC season already, and will stream that, have the TV when they aren't showing Nascar, and RLM on to hear Trussers breaking down the strategy.

There's usually a stream available somewhere whether legal or not. I've heard people pay for the WEC app but still have issues with it and I don't wanna waste money in case that happens.

Fixed.

Ahh yes, that's what I love about RLM, Trussers strategy making is legendary, gotta love the guy. Plus he's a machine, staying in the booth the whole 24hours calculating the strategy like some sort of strategy-making robot .

I'm not exactly confident about it, they've somehow struggled to balance a class of mostly the exact same cars that race in IMSA and haven't gotten it nearly as close.

I kinda hope Ford wins GTE again, just to see the salt. :P

You know, I surprisingly didn't get as much as I was expecting from Detroit last week so maybe we're gonna get quite the haul from the French countryside.
