Peugeot also got the prettier car too at that time in my opinion, the 908. Wonder if Peugeot would return to Le Mans and WEC though...

Back then they said if there were severe cost cutting they would heavily consider it. So maybe...?

I'm not sure what Peugeot will be doing next, actually, WRX aside. They're not even doing Dakar next year...

Maybe with the new rules, they could entertain the idea of coming back. They did have a car made up for the following season, until they pulled the plug. Which from what i remember, kinda forced Toyota to start a year earlier.

That's about right. Toyota had originally planned to compete from 2013, but due to Peugeot's sudden withdrawal, the powers that be kindly asked Toyota if they could start their project a year early so that having 2 manufacturers validated the WEC's status as a world championship.

That's shame though. Didn't knew they prepared a new car though. Is it already a working prototype?

Hope so... Don't know if they were interested with the new regulations or not by the way...

Wait... so Peugeot also left Dakar? Are they were going to have same fate as Mitsubishi? I hope not.

Supposedly, Peugeot has been involved with the work on the GTP regulations so hopefully they will join in. I'm all for as much manufacturer involvement as possible.

I believe Ferrari has had a hand in the process as well. So Peugeot, Toyota, Ferrari, and maybe, say, McLaren. That would make for a cracking championship.

All the manufacturers have a hand in it. That doesn't mean they are going to enter.

Peugeot had their new hybrid cars ready in 2012, they were already at Sebring ready for the season to start when management pulled the plug, it's 6 years old now though so wouldn't even be as quick as the current LMP2 cars.

First time I'm heavily rooting for Porsche to go 1-2 in GTE :yuck:. Really glad to see both Toyota's still running and on pace, thats a sigh of relief.

Did I just hear someone on the Eurosports say the F word during the transmission about the 10s stop go penalty.
Race time was 33:50
