I have to say, it's really odd. I can't properly handle the cars with equal performance anymore after having played a lot of career mode, it's just too different. I mean yeah my thumb was hurt blabla but let's face it: I was way too slow anyway and couldn't handle the car properly. How do you guys cope with that? I haven't had this problem back when I switched from online to offline every other day but I don't have the time to do that nowadays.

Nice race, this time i got podium finish.

Not bad overall, i think i could catch Baumi.... watch yourself i you like

Going to check it out when I get home :)

My tire strategy sucked (Prime Prime Option); had the lead briefly for 2 laps, battled with bazylfox a bit; no threat from 5th position, safely in 4th for the finish.

Nice video job bazylfox 👍

I hope we get a better turn out next Sunday

Talking about videos: I haven't forgotten about the Turkey one but I think I'll have to render the 3 parts on their own and combine them afterwards. My laptop is constantly running out of memory whilst trying to combine 6gb of .mov files. :S

thx BlacqueJacques.

I told once i will record our races, and i did. I think i will record next one. Will try to put camera closer to tv for more engine noise and less steering wheel :)

Thanks for the upload Bazyl, great stuff. Love the intro.

Nitro, my last race at monaco, ended just after lap 1, braked too late(heavy fuel load) and went straight into the wall.
Take it easy, grab the points. Enjoy yourself above all else.

I really enjoyed last race. I knew i could keep up with Pawel and Baumi (in video you can see them fighting from lap 2. after my mistake)

If i didn't spun just before pit entry (lap 8.) i would catch Baumi for sure.

That's making me more confident before crown jewel of F1 season :)

On the day before the race (or the day of the race) I usually do a 50% GP race in the Red Bull at the track of the week instead of career mode. And if the car doesn't handle properly, add more wing :)

BlacqueJacques
Have to pass me in the standings first :)

Shouldn't be too hard, because, some say I'm the Stig ;).

Red Bull, yeah - probably best. :)

Turkey video: the files have been converted and I'll try to combine them tonight. If everything else fails I can still upload 3 parts to YouTube. :)

Sorry, but I don't think you would have catched me, because I was slowing down to save my tires to have any chance to win the race but the tires still got bad very soon.
I tried to do a 1-stopper after my spin but it was impossible with this tirewear.
So I could have gone easily faster if I needed to ;)

Being slow used to be my job in the old championship. Ah well. I guess practice makes perfect.

We've all been slow at some point, even me, that crazy guy who thinks he's the Stig ;)

Seriously though, I would've been about 5 seconds off the pace a year ago had I owned F1 2010 back then (didn't get it until June). And I don't think I ever completed a race on F1 2010 without spinning/mini-spinning at least once

I improved a lot on F1 2011, the physics are more suited to my driving style now, especially with the rear of the car (my first trophy was the drifting one :)) I found that it was way easier to push in this game, and this helped me a lot. I was able to actually develop the consistency to drive a full race without making any spins/crashes. This meant that I could focus on little things that would improve my time rather then focusing on getting around with messing up.

Right now I'm just working on my track knowledge and driving lines, because I think this is costing me 1-1.5 seconds a lap. In the past I've mainly improvised during the corners. I used the driving line, and all I knew were my gear numbers for every corner. I sort of knew my braking points give or take 25m and I had no idea what speed to be in during a corner, I just did it by feel :) Now I'm starting to develop detailed and much more precise lines, which has been shaving off lots if time :) I'm always trying to improve to become faster then the real Stig, and I'm learning little things all the time so that one day, I'll be faster then him :)

And the final part of this long post which was probably difficult to read, is a question. Does anyone know if the weight transfer techniques were implemented in the game, and how(/if) they work, because they confuse me

And did you know that ducks are typically bigger then whales, and that they are faster drivers then Felipe Massa :)

/Stig & /Overuse of smilies

If you didn't watch my video - i was right behind you every time you exit pits and i was closing in. But always had some obsticle on my way :D

I don't want to argue about who's faster, 'cause i'm sure you are. Just saying i could take 1st place in two laps after start (you were going veeery wide in some corners) but i knew i'm slower so i didn't took any risk to fight for position.

...and i was saving my fuel most of the time so i could easily go much faster i wanted to lol :P

I'm sorry but it makes me laught when i hear someone saying - "i could do a lot better if i want to" - yes, so why you didn't ?

Don't take it personaly, i'm not racing for glory but for fun, so i have no presure winning.

I'm so fast that the FIA force me to drive with a slightly limited engine. It's only got 3hp, but I still manage to win in it. Oh, and I only use the fuel save mode, you know, to be fair :sly:. Oh, and I drove the whole race with 5 punctuated tires, for the whole race. Every tire I used was punctured from the start. I could've used non-punctured tires, but that would've been mean. I mean, It's only fair that you get every advantage possible. I could go 30 seconds a lap faster then you, but that wouldn't be fair now would it :)

eh :)

Sorry but you don't understand me.
I was driving slower, because I hoped to do a 1-stopper which I found out was impossible with my tirewear.
After my spin I knew I couln't catch Pawel with the same strategie, so I tried something else.
And the reasons you were right behind me after the stops are, because I spun before my first stop and had massive tirewear befor my 2nd stop.
Sorry but you never were any danger for me otherwise I would not have taken this strategie

I know now why i'm slow. My engine does not let me go over 301 kmh, while Bazyl Ferrari reach 320 km on last race  HOW??

Anyway ill need to work on my consistency, Monaco is the hardest race for me so ill expect to be last again. 👎 But heck, there is nothing i can do now so ill just stick to more practice.

I was answering to this :)

eh :)

Not sure what you mean by that jcm.

I raced in our previous championships (for mortals) and nearly every time when i was fighting for positions i got pushed out, rammed or smth.
I don't cry when smbd didn't made way for me in Q's or lapped cars "don't see me going".

I just like clean racing so i'm able to brake earlier just not to risk any damages for me and others i'm racing with.

I love racing - but in real life - that's why i'm carting a lot.
Here is just a game, and when it is to choose taking lead risking damage or getting strong 3rd place - i'm choosing second.

If you're the Stig - great - i'm happy for you. If that makes you feel better - You're the best man! You're the alfa and omega.

...but that ain't mean a sh.. for me :)

Pfft, i can ride my horse, and still be faster than you.

I had a spin too, you know. ;)

I know i'm not any danger, like i said you're much faster than me. But i was close and that's what matters for me. Usually i was miles behind podium.

sorry for double post

So, the Turkey race is encoded and everything but the last part doesn't have sound - the single file has it but the combined one is muted or at least very silent...so much that I can't turn the volume up enough to hear a thing. :grumpy:
