Well then that's good for you! If you're that fast in the Panoz you'll be challenging for the win! While that may be your experience, the drivers in this series and my own experience- the Panoz isn't as good as the Viper or the Vette around the tighter tracks. The Viper for one has a 47/53 weight balance. That lets it corner a lot easier. The Vette isn't as good as that, but it's balance is better (less front heavy) than the Panoz. We also don't run upgrades on our cars and they're all stock unless specified (the Jaguar and NSX run turbo upgrades) so that could be another difference. As for the GTR, I have a pretty good setup on it, it may be the slowest on the straights, but it's the best in the corners. The Ford GT and Camaro LM aren't in this series.
My C5.R has 55-45 weight distribution.
I agree, any Viper would smoke my car, especially that #91.
Thank the lord the Ford GT isn't in your series.
Did I mention something about mid-range turbos?
Agreed with GTR LM.

The Ford isn't in it because it's from the 2000's. The Vette is really the same but it's date is in the 90s. The NSX is from the 90s as well. The GTR is technically a prototype but I added it because the R33 raced at LeMans, the R33 TC just isn't fast enough.

Are 1'17s any good for GTS? I haven't set anytimes, I'm just very used to SSR5 and I'm guessing that 1'17s are GTS.

1:16s are the best I have seen with the Panoz. The GTR is much better here though, possibly 1:14s for that thing.

I could break into 1:16's in the NSX on low fuel, flying laps; but I also finish at or near the bottom every race. :sly:

I ran a PR 1:13.325 and consistently 1:14's this afternoon in the GT-R...

You all will probably be faster. Still figuring out the Nissan.

Yeah 1:16s for mediums. 1:15s for softs and lower. The GTR is definitely the best GTS here. 1:14s are normal for that car. GT1's should be in the 1:13s with 1:12s reachable.

Weirdest issue is that I'm borderline 1'14/1'15 with softs... but I can't hit 1'16s with mediums. I've tried about every trick in the book to get the car to turn. So, if I start getting 1'16s with Mediums, I can get low 1'14s or lower with softs???

Seth,
So, I need to add 10kg of wieght to the 15kg from Spa for LeSarth for a total of 25kg? What is the prime tire for the race?
Thanks :)

I'll put it up soon. We'll probably just follow suit of the race that was suppose to happen before. I'll get to that now.

Winner, that's your strategic call. If you want to qualify on mediums and run those first be my guest. I do that sometimes just to get the mediums out the way.

For SSR5 SOFTS are option tires, prime tires are MEDIUMS Minimum 12 laps per stint. A MAX option tire usage (SOFTS) will be 28laps. You choose which compound you qualify with, but start the race with said tire compound.

So I can't do a 1 stop race? Awww...

That's usually my strategy too...

What I meant was if I got 1'16s on Mediums, I can get 1'14 on softs...

I have no idea why I use an apostrophe to tell time in a lap, or length of a race (3'31.296 or 1"29'34.229 for ex.) I guess I played too much Daytona USA in my time...

Colons are used in the times. You just quadruple posted too ;) The mods don't seem to like that, so be careful. Remember, the Panoz gets no upgrades. That means the car runs technically stock. You can tune the car, but you can't add any performance parts. I'll have details up for Sarthe the day before the race. But I will explain the tire rules for it either tonight or tomorrow.

That means 38 laps on mediums. 65 laps, I hope I can last that long lol.

Well, SSR5 is a fast track in terms of lap times. We'll make it through the race pretty quickly. I'll post up details for LeSarthe 2005 later on today as well. It's an endurance race so tire usage is open. That means half mediums, half softs as long as you meet the minimum lap stint- which will probably be 5 or 6 laps.

You're right, SSR5 is a fast track. I like it too except for the corner that likes to be see through lol.
LeSarthe is going to be fun :)

INTRODUCTION

Located in LeMans France, Circuit de la Sarthe is a semi-permanent race course most famous as the venue for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Reaching back to the 1920's the circuit has received many revisions, with the current version being introduced in 2002.

At 13.65 kilometers (8.5 miles) 'La Sarthe' is one of the longest tracks in the world. And features one of the longest straights. Though not as long as the original straight thanks to the chicanes added, there are still 5 sections of the track in which top gear is reached and speeds over 315kmh (195mph) are obtained. Special attention is needed at the porsche curves, ford chicanes at the end of the lap, and the esses at the first turn. Running wide will ruin your lap as there is little to no run off. Who will win on the 13+km classic circuit in LeMans France?

RACE DETAILS

Qualifying will be ~20minutes in length and will start ~30 minutes after room open time (or until enough racers attend). Tire wear/fuel consumption will be on FAST setting only for qualifying. Race setting will be on Normal. You must start the race on the tire compound (soft or medium) you qualify with!

TIRE USAGE

Circuit de le Sarthe's length proves difficult with tires, for this race tire usage is OPEN. This means that you must use BOTH COMPOUNDS tires equally through the race. That equals 15 laps MAX/MINIMUM. A minimum stint is required of 5 laps per stint/tire, no upper limit to amount of laps on specific tire as long as you meet minimum distance of 5 laps per stint.
