90s LeMans W.C./ Season 1 complete!

Stupid stupid stupid! I'm getting turn 1 all wrong and only getting a 1:38.472 as my best time at Daytona. So hard to control the throttle, but I'm not giving up, I will get this car under control! :D

edit: Ok, so now I know that, if not for some annoying little tap into the wall, I can look at a 1:37.5 as my best time.

Best times equal qualifying, but the race is another story. Just try to be consistent. Room will open soon.
 
noooooooo......all those restarts and then DC'd

I thought I had a good chance for the win, was getting better tire wear than RFLX and cnd, think I could have beat them on strategy.

sorry about giving you a hard time tnt and complaining about the restarting I was just doing so good I did not want to be restarting :)

Hey man I was running softs to begin the race. I wish you could have been there for the epic battle Niop, Storm, and I had. It was an all out sprint. That is the hardest I have pushed this series.

You guys looked like 2 sheets of sandpaper rubbing against each other through the infield on the last lap.

I was on softs too :), when you pitted I know I had at least 3 more laps on my soft tires and I was catching rflx...wasn't matching your pace on fresh tires but mine were lasting longer, It would have been a challenge but strategy may have gotten me ahead of you and rflx, would have liked to find out at least...oh well, hopefully we can go problem free next week
 
I wish I'd stuck to mediums for the sprint; couldn't quite get away or past cnd at the end without doing something ballsy like in the first two shots at the race. That final trip through the bus stop I slowed right down and though, "I know where cnd's going." and when he pulled onto the outside of the oval on exit I siezed my chance on the inside! Shame the GTS's are just as quick as the GT1's on the straights, and cnd managed a last gasp draft pass coming upto the line that I could do nothing about. great racing!

Race 2 was just.... urgh. Don't get me wrong, the racing was great, and I was carrying a heck of a lot of speed through the bus stop chicane in comparison to everyone else it seemed. Thing was, every pass I made there I made sure I was wheel-to-wheel and only did a pass on the outside line, as trying anything on the inside was waaaay too narrow.

Then I go wheel-to-wheel with TnT at that turn, me on the outside,him on the inside.... now, granted I expected him to pull out, but when I could he wasn't going to I took a trip onto the grass to avoid the apex. I steered heavily to the right for my preparation of sliding back onto the track, praying that he'd slowed down so that I didn't hit him, but I think he was thinking he'd just be able to make it through by racing normally, then I come steaming back on the track with no control over the situation and smash him off. When I saw he made no intention of coming back on the track, I knew I was gonna get some abuse.

Sorry T-n-T, really I am. I'm not the type of guy that intentionally shoves people off, that only guy I would is Nirv in ITCC/Rolex, but that's only in mock 1-lappers and because we're friends IRL and wouldn't involve anyone else in our escapades (sp?).... In a real race I'll be as clean as I can, and if people want to tell me something about my driving that is dangerous then I'll gladly listen and work on it for future races. If I do bump people there's generally a harmless reason for it, like when I bumped cnd a few times in race 3 at Turn 3; those were ALL just me getting caught too deep in the draft.
 
2. The second race was stopped because I ended up in a racing incident with TnT and things got heated.
 
these are endurance races and in racing things happen, people spin or crash or lose time in some way thats just the nature of it, and with long races and a long season you have the opportunity to make up ground and points.

It would be bad if restarting races became a trend so maybe we could implement a no restarts rule after 5 laps or something like that? And only for lag issues or a massive crash that involves at least 3 people and only at the starts when we are all bunched together.

or even having a caution system that is limited to the beginning laps of the race

Good having 10 people start the race. Too bad shin couldn't stick around. Jake wasn't there either. So here are the results from what I remember of the 1st (restarted race), It didn't finish so the battles on going may end with duplicate positions.

Race 1(2-restarted)

1. Sinladar- 13 points (1st GT1)
2. CND- 13 points (tied 1st GTS)
2. RFLX- 13 points (tied 1st GTS)
4. Storm- 10 points (tied 2nd GT1)
4. T-n-T- 10 points (tied 2nd GT1)
6. fraisercrane- 9 points (3rd GTS)
7. freshseth83- 8 points (4th GT1)

8. Silver (DNS Race 2)- 7 points (5th GTS)

Since neither race was complete I won't penalise anyone. Also half points will be awarded for both races, adding both will result in the total points scored for the round.

Sprint race information is up, as is the complete updated standings. Success ballast information has also been updated. Since it was a shortened race, ballast totals will be half value (rounded up). Also, with the restarts taking too long, if someone is d/c within the first 5 laps of the race, but makes it back before 10 laps are complete, we will restart the race for that person with the amount of laps left and a resetting of the tire usage. That person who d/c will forfeit their position and everyone must remember the position they are in. There will be no cautions. Clean racing is expected. If an incident occurs, speak about it in this thread or after the race let it be known so I can investigate it from both sides. If lag presents itself continually for a single person and it's not resolved, that person may be asked to sit out the race unless the other parties agree to let that person continue.

I'll be sure to have pictures up by later tonight or tomorrow. Not every car will be shown because the 10 lap shootout race didn't include every driver.

I also want to say that the points standings need to be looked at, there is a tie for the lead in GTS @58 points between CND and RLFX. I want people to know that also the points will be doubled for the next round. So a good result can really jump you up the standings. I will be providing prizes for the winners of each class (unless it's me) like a 10 dollar PSN card. So I want people to really have something to race for.
 
How is Niop and I tied in points. He should be ahead of me. I have 2 wins of 1/2 points and he has 2 full wins and 1 1/2 points wins? I do have the fastest GTS lap in each race and 2 GTS poles. That must be worth a few extra points.

Pole and fastest laps are worth 2 and 1 point respectively. CO-WINNERS received the same half points (13) but you qualified 1st even though the race got redone. You still get that bonus point. The 2 wins gave you 26 points, the Pole and fastest lap gave you 3 bonus points... 29 total from that race day.
