90s LeMans W.C./ Season 1 complete!

I have to say that Shin was unlucky to have connection problems. I was pleased with my result in the end, given everything that happened. It was a bit of a shame things had to happen though. I qualified outside the top 5 with mediums by 0.1 seconds, and my initial idea was going to be to hold out on mediums until the last two stints, where my fuel was lower and the car was lighter. I wasn't really that far behind at all in the races, which given I've not raced in Race Cars for a long while, was astonishing. **** knows how I was able to keep the car reeled in, so don't ask! :D

I was able to do 1:38's on mediums for a good 6 laps. Daytona isn't too bad to tires besides turn 1.

Tire Compound Rules

OPEN tire AS OF (upcoming) RD. 3

Qualifying tire is the compound tire you start the race with. For round 3 mini enduro @Indy Road Course, tire selection is open with a minimum 3 stints each compound.
9 stops tonight?

It's really not hard... the OP says it all...

NOTICE------
(Race day Tire compound information here) We'll be running tire wear and fuel consumption ON and implementing a two tire compound rule. Softs/Mediums with a mandatory 6 lap minimum stint per tire compound. You must start on the tires you qualified on. To spice things up, some race days will feature a different prime/option tire. With the OPTION tire, you are only allowed 2/3 stints or two/three sets.
Example- option tire is SOFTS and prime is MEDIUMS; Race start on SOFTS counts as one stint. You can only use that set of tires again for one/two more stint(s) with no maximum amount of laps (as softs degrade faster there's no need to limit this).

(Success Ballast information here) Also we'll be implementing a Success Ballast format for the top 3 finishers in each class. The ballast will remain through each race until said driver is placed outside of the top 5. Where then the ballast will ALL be removed.
Example- 1st place; 25kg 2nd place 15kg; 3rd place 15kg
Just read the OP. I never said HARD tires was a compound. I said TWO COMPOUND RULE (mediums and softs) not 3.

I expect way faster.

yeah I was doing 26s in the Zonda so I expect the GT1s to be maybe into the 23s or even 22s

tire wear is pretty bad so 3 stints minimum on each set of tires actually won't be so bad, going to be important to know when to use each tire though

Not being funny, and I know this isn't Formula One, but I'm familiar with this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formula_One_tyres

"For the 2007 season Bridgestone became the sole tyre supplier in Formula One with the withdrawal of Michelin, and introduced four compounds of tyre, two of which are made available at each race."

THIS is what a 2-tyre compound rule is. I'm sure its similar in every other motorsport. GT5 runs three tyre compounds, so if YOU aren't using one, it's up to YOU to make it clearer.

Why is explaining things to you just to make a simple clarification change such a hard task? Not like I'm asking you to redesign the tectonic plates of the world.... ****...

Basically (since Seth's having trouble putting it in the OP):

This series runs two of the three racing tyres made available in the game. Those tyres are Soft/Medium. Racing Hard is NOT being used as a rule, although using them in a race is completely up to you but it's not advised.

I hate repeating myself for no reason, plus you're making it more difficult than it is. The OP says TWO COMPOUNDS! OK? It goes on to say those two compounds are SOFTS AND MEDIUMS. The endurance rounds have an OPEN usage of prime and option tires. Nowhere does it say OPEN 3 COMPOUND. Read the rules in the OP and follow them.

Here it is AGAIN, so you're not confused...

We'll be running tire wear and fuel consumption ON and implementing a two tire compound rule. Softs/Mediums with a mandatory 6 lap minimum stint per tire compound...
quite simple guys.

How about you quit trolling my thread? Hopefully next time you have something to add to the thread besides your banter no one needs.

just run 3 stints on racing softs and 3 stints on racing mediums and make sure the stint is at least 6 laps long, simple.

Yes pretty simple. As long as you use each compound we run (mediums and softs) at least 3 times/stints, you're good to the rules. Room will be opening in 20 minutes for practice then qualifying @7 pm eastern.

That wasn't banter.

A lot of what I do is banter/borderline trolling. But, this time I actually wasn't trolling.

I mentioned something to double check and you blew it in my face, THINKING I was trolling you. I'm entitled to doublecheck, and I don't expect to be met with "it's clear as day, try reading the OP"... that's just rude.

My WHOLE train of thought:

Shin posted a PM of times he did as per my request since I hadn't tested the car yet, with me expecting only soft and medium times. Instead, I get from him times on all three compounds. Me, thinking that its wierd that he's using all three, consult the OP. No mention of hard tyres, which through automatic assumption I wouldn't have used Hards anyway, and expecting 8 stops from us equates to SOMETHING being amiss somewhere. Goes to Seth to double check anyway, gets met with mentioned response. Cue aftermath.

just run 3 stints on racing softs and 3 stints on racing mediums and make sure the stint is at least 6 laps long, simple.
That's simple enough.

Thanks for coming to the rescue guys. It said "each" in part of the OP that labels the compounds for each round, so I figured we had to use all three compounds, but I got it and understand now.

Sorry for creating confusion over my stupidity Storm.

any chance of still getting in on a few races in the GTS category?

Awesome race today. Niop and I had a tough battle throughout the race. I was getting excellent tire wear. Looking forward to the next tour.

Congrats on the win, you deserved it. You were even able to come back after getting caught up in the early incident. 👍

Thanks man. You had me on overall pace though.

NOTICE-

There will be changes made to the cars for the upcoming 'European Season'. Nothing extraordinary, just slight respecing of the cars to give better competition. Expect a power change and a possible weight adjustment to your cars.
